We’re back with a new gallery update for you, and we’re taking a break from the Transformers Generations line to bring you a look at a recent release in the Robots in Disguise (2015-17) line. Making an appearance in the line’s final assortment is the legendary Decepticon Master of Metalikato himself, Bludgeon!
Bludgeon is an extensive reworking of the earlier Megatronus figure, with the majority of the robot’s upper body reworked, including new arms, a new chest, and a new head. While he shares this tooling with Blastwave, who was released first, I think we all know that actually it was Bludgeon who this mold was meant for, and he pulls the look off well, being a nicely realized reincarnation of the character. The tank cannons on the back are a nice feature, as they tilt forward to allow for some over-the-shoulder firing poses, and they can also be handheld as a massive gun. Bludgeon also includes his signature sword, and has enough poseability to pull off some decent swordfighting poses. He’s far from perfect, though, as the tank mode leaves the fists exposed – and there’s really no reason other than parts count as to why they could not be made to fold in. The tank mode being a more cartoony sci-fi H tank rather than a more real world design might not appeal to all, either.
Overall though, it feels like with Bludgeon Robots in Disguise was saving a great toy for last. We like him, and we hope you’ll enjoy perusing our gallery of him.

It's the only show since Transformers Prime. It's tamer, yes, but Prime was oppressively dark at times.
MegaDolrailer
I mean Prime got violent at times, and RID is literally the first tame TF show since Prime.

Actually managed to find this guy in a Toys R Us. I thought Id never see him in person. Hes an awesome Transformer, just oozes metal coolness.
I took this picture of him in from of his spotlight cover in the last Optimus Prime issue:
EDIT: Not sure why it turned sideways…. its upright on file. Hopefully you guys can still get the idea.
Chaos Muffin
His tank mode\'s cool with BW\'s cannons on top of his. He needs a longer sword. It still looks decent pegged into the knee.
He\'s reignited my spark for Blastwave, not sure who I like more now. Super Bludgeon Bros.

Good stuff Simon.
I picked him up the other day and I’m digging him more than my ROTF Bludgeon w/ Headrobot upgrade. May be time to sell him.
I also regret never picking up those Mayhem guys
Gallade
He's a troll! Don't listen to him!
Spyne98
He's neat looking. If I see him in a store I might pick him up but I'm not going to go crazy looking for him.

Ohhhh, so he WAS on the show! But the new head explains it. I can't see RID having a skull-faced character on there… not with their no-gun, low-violence, wholesome berries and fruit approach to the cartoon. I miss the days when TF shows could be cool, not mom-approved.
ZapRowsdower
It's too bad skull-face is too scary looking to actually appear on RID…
Also, he's got some large boots, now that I look at these (EXCELLENT) pics!
But a very cool Bludgeon addition (hey! TFW! You forgot the TF Prime Bludgeon in your pics! ). I think he'll look great on a Bludgeon shelf (which I'm thinking of building, sans the G1 and Generations mold… cause I don't own those! ).
Oniconvoy
That is also my mantra.

Head is awesome

Design wise, the mold clearly resembles Bludgeon. There's not really any question there, it's all based on his different incarnations. Blastwave is a redeco of Bludgeon whichever way round they came.
Blastwave on the show used Megatronus' character model with a new head. So it's not like he's drawing from a consistent design. Based on that, I'd say it's more like the toys came first, then the writers of the show decided to use Blastwave. Or possibly Blastwave was on the show and Hasbro decided to get a toy of him out, but used the closest thing available.

POTP Bludgeon is easily one of the best figures of the year, provided you're okay with Cybertronian alt modes.
So glad I got to review him early.

Man, that Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon is one of my favorite figs.
How come Hasbro keeps releasing a figure the mold was meant for after the fact. Before TR Astro Train, Octone, Blitzwing, there were Sentinel, Optimus, and Megatron.

Maybe they can give them all spring loaded punching and karate kick gimmicks. And dont forget the mech tech extending claws so they can pinch Arcees butt.

Titans Return wouldn't have been half as enjoyable to me if the headmasters weren't line wide. I'm looking forward to the play system's inevitable return after Power of the Primes is done.
zoidiect
got him yesterday and it had the right side of the shoulder ratchet piece for the left shoulder, preventing the shoulder to fully click into place when forming the turret. sadly TF toys aren't exchangeable in TRU MY so probably gonna try if i can fix that myself _ ( :'3JL)

I definitely want this.. if I ever actually see it in stores is up in the air. But if I do see it, I’ll be buying it.
