It’s long been a holy grail for fans of Transformers Generation 1. To be able to have the original soundtrack of our childhood favorite show to listen to, enjoy, and reminisce to all those classic moments to.
We’ve been waiting for a long time for an official soundtrack release – one that is promised to be coming, someday, soon, allegedly – but in the meantime, a dedicated group of fans have taken it on themselves to painstakingly restore every single piece of Generation 1’s background music. Three seasons, 98 episodes, hundreds of tracks.
Today, that project has reached its completion. The fan restoration of Transformers Generation 1’s soundtrack has produced a copy of the music for Generation 1 season 3. The season brought us huge amounts of music inspired by Vince DiCola’s work on the 1986 animated movie, together with some truly excellent battle themes that reflected the futuristic tone the show took in its third season.
You can check it out on the project’s kickstarter update page.
As a bonus, you can also check out an exhaustive list of where every piece of music plays in every episode. Every piece of music. All 98 episodes. That’s dedication to the fandom and the community. Check it out on the season 3 postscript update. Now you too can resurrect Optimus Prime to the original music that accompanied his first – okay, technically it was about his third – return from the toybox in the sky.
To Jimbo, the rest of the team, and to all the backers who made this possible – bravo, gentlemen. There are many happy fans of the original cartoon living out some happy memories listening to this soundtrack this day.

I found this on youtube the other day. Basically it is a collection of background music that Transformers and GI Joe shared starting in 1985.
@shockwave1 skip to 21:48 for the music clip you seek in its entirety.

Best thing is to find out the timestamp of when the scene plays and check it against this list: g1 music 98 episodes ALL TIMECODES(updated 10.27.16).txt
It'll point you in the right direction if it doesn't give you an answer.
Superion247

I'm also curious is the official release going to be a release from Hasbro or someone else? I'm kinda confused but is that record from toy fair from Hasbro?
GizmoTron
All that was there was the record, but it would be really weird not to have a CD or digital release.
ChromeMagnus
No confirmation of CD or digital format?
God Orion
This is awesome work!

Still in the works. A Vinyl version was shown at ToyFair, so it's still coming.
