Power of the Primes has just made its debut at retail with the sighting of deluxe wave 1, and with it, we have confirmation that every figure comes with not one, not two, but 12 whole variants!
Right from the start when the line’s collector cards were first shown, the astute were picking up that different packaging samples were showing different collector cards. Now that the line has been released, we can confirm that every figure in fact has one of twelve different collector cards included at random. The front side of each card shows the same awesome artwork; the back however has one of twelve different short one-line bios explaining how the power of the ancient Primes affects each character differently. For example, Jazz with the power of Amalgamous Prime might “shift modes like a DJ mixing songs”, while Jazz with the power of the Liege Maximo is “the universe’s smoothest talker”.
It’s a cool little detail which plays into the line’s gimmick, while also adding some lore in the form of the different attributes associated with the ancient ancestors of the Transformers.
The 12 Primes named on the cards (and their attributes, so far as we know) are as follows:
- Micronus (power linking / power sharing?)
- Liege Maximo (smooth talking / eloquence)
- Vector Prime (time travel / precision timing)
- Alchemist Prime (transmutation of matter / changing physical or mental states)
- Alpha Trion (knowledge)
- Quintus Prime (creation of life / evolution)
- Megatronus (destruction / all out attack)
- Solus Prime (forging weapons / armor)
- Onyx Prime (the least defined. Seems to bring out animalistic traits)
- Amalgamous Prime (transformation, specifically into a form better suited for the situation)
- Nexus Prime (combination)
- Prima (justice / light / freedom)
Those who’ve kept track of certain things we’re not allowed to show anymore might also remember that we’re getting Micronus, Liege, and Vector in Prime Masters Wave 1, Alchemist and Alpha Trion in Prime Masters Wave 2, and Quintus, Solus, and Megatronus in Prime Masters Wave 3. That leaves Onyx, Amalgamous, Nexus, and Prima unaccounted for. Four figures could certainly make up one or even two more assortments – and Takara-Tomy Mall’s Grand Maximus solicitation included a look at a Waverider Pretender shell which isn’t one of the eight shown to date. However, we’d also speculate on the possibility of some of the remaining four being in some kind of exclusive set – possibly future Power of the Primes exclusives where one of the Prime Masters is bundled with a Deluxe class figure for SDCC or NYCC 2018, a la Titans Return Arcee and Grotusque, who came with Ultra Magnus and Scorponok, respectively.
A thread is ongoing on our boards to record all the different variations of the Power of the Primes collector cards. Check it out linked below, and maybe share some pics of your own collector cards to show the community what all the different variants of these cards are.
Thanks goes to TFW2005 member payres who was among the first to point this out and fully catalog all 12 of the Primes named in the Power of the Primes line.

Thanks, I found it after posting. Did a search earlier and just missed that link thinking it was something else.

Is there a checklist anywhere that has a complete listing of all the cards. I am working on putting together the entire set and want to verify what I need.

I really wish Hasbro kept the cards with Siege. It's kind of something I didn't realize how much I'd miss.

Never mind I fixed it. Thoughts?

Am I the only one disappointed that Ricochet did not come with a card?

Does anybody know of a retailer/store/person who’s selling any extras of these? I’m looking to complete my Primal set…

So Hasbro let us down with Nemesis Prime and Punch/Counterpunch, so I have my own powers for them, with some help from my nine-year-old daughter. The order is Prima, Vector,,Alpha Trion, Solus, Micronus, Alchemist, Nexus, Onyx, Amalgamous, Quintus, Liege Maximo, Megatronus.

Leader class optimus or rodimus? (Rodimus interests me more and I feel I don't need an optimus with 3.0 coming out.)

NO
Right here where we can seeeee them!
They are pretty cool!
KABAR432
not hating but shouldn't the custom cards be in Creative general discussion?
Or in the BST forum if you are selling them???
