For our next gallery, we’re jumping back to 2016 and the dawn of the Titans Return line, with a Japanese release. We’re taking a look back at the Transformers Legends releases of the first two waves of Titans Return’s Deluxe class, and we’re getting the ball rolling with the Legends version of Blurr!
Blurr originally got a release in the first Generations line back in 2010 as a remold of Drift, based on the IDW comics design, which took Blurr into a more modern design. For Titans Return, Hasbro took Blurr back to his roots as a sci-fi hovercar, giving the character a great look that worked out very faithful to the original Blurr; although Hasbro’s deco was very blue. Takara’s release for the Legends line who we’re talking about today took that solid base mold and gave it a new deco that much more closely resembled the traditional look of Blurr from the cartoon. In our opinion, this deco – with its two-tone blue and white highlights – break up the solid blue areas from the Hasbro version, and really brings out the best in the mold, and gives fans a fantastic new version of Blurr who is currently the definitive version of the character for the Generations / Classics series.

I prefer Hasbro's colours for vehicle mode, but have both versions. This has to be the most double-dipped line I've ever collected, I think I need to learn some patience ><

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my thoughts. Individually, the two shades of blue are nice enough, but they just don't compliment each other. Rather than one popping out and one sitting back a bit, as it should be, both are instead fighting for my attention. It all just looks a little off.
Maybe it is a colourblind thing.
Prime Aspect
I'm also red/green colorblind, and I prefer the Hasbro version. I wonder if there's a link? In general (not just transformers) I prefer things with fewer bright colors (i.e. one bright shade to pop against more neutral base colors) — the Takara Blurr is the visual equivalent of two people shouting different things at the top of their lungs to me, with the two very bright and saturated shades of blue.

You dont see how its colorway precisely matches the 1986 toy? Jeez, good thing youre not in the art&design industry then. Nice comparison pic..

Huh, I now see that Legends Blurr is actually missing a few paint apps in vehicle mode (tip of the shield should be a different blue, side stripes in darker blue, etc). Odd that Takara didn't get that right, and even odder that Reprolabels didn't issue an upgrade set.

^Hey no prob! He's still on PO on Robotkingdom.. at 23 bucks. Hmm, but shipping to America might be pricey thou…

You just made my day. I haven't been on the boards for a while so this is sweet news! I've been wanting to get the Takara Blurr for such a long time and I routinely leave the Hasbro Blurr rotting on toy pegs in every store I go to where they are not selling. Hasbro must have been on crack when they decided those colors for their version of Blurr. I've wanted Takara's Blurr for a long time but missed out on him the 1st time and the price just got out of hand after a few weeks.
Scourge too. (Also wanted the Takara Headmasters but too expensive to get. I wish they'd just sell the headmaster parts individual as part of the Titan's Masters line or something. Had to go with Hasbro's versions of The Headmasters there as they were easier to get.)
Sorry but I don't see how the Hasbro version matches either the 1986 toy or the cartoon. Just look at it…

Cant wait to add this version of Blurr to complete my 1986 Movie bots group.

We must start a trust fund or create some system to ensure all toys are pictured.
I would recommend collecting some of the pictures into a book to sell (to raise funds for more toys to photograph), but we all know what Hasblo would do about that…
Sol Fury
Nope, it's all 100% my own collection, bought with my own money. I do it for the love of the fandom and because I genuinely feel these toys are cool.
Aimless Misfire
Yeah, I said I have one on preorder with BBTS. But something will go wrong & I won't get that one either. lol

I thought the site bought these, or gets them from Hasbro? Also, I'm sure someone here with a Hasbro version can lend you one for the site!

Nice photos. Makes me want to bust mine out again (which I will likely be doing when Legends Doublecross is released).

I have legends blurr scourge and brainstorm. Three nice figures and well worth a pick up
Automorpher
This.
United Drift & United Jazz tops it for me.
Especially United Jazz… I'm not replacing him with the POTP version.
Aimless Misfire
I bought this figure twice on ebay. Both sellers had over 100 positive feedbacks with barely any negatives. And both sellers decided to go rogue the second I sent payment. So I still can't have this figure. I have 1 on preorder with BBTS but things happen in 3's so I'm not expecting to get that one either. Some freak shit will happen, it'll probably get lost in the mail or a dinosaur will eat the mailman or a UFO will intercept it.
I'll probably get stuck painting a Hasbro version in Takara colors. How stupid is that?

The United versions of Blurr and Drift are still awesome for Earth alt mode figures. I feel the Blurr mold brings something cool with the Headmaster gimmick and Cybertronian alt mode. I use the United versions of the characters as part of the Wreckers team.

I have them both. Still like my Gen Blurr and Drift more. Yeah the old Gens had some cool figuers…..
