We’re back with another new Transformers toy gallery, and this time, we are grabbing our red microscopes and taking an up-close analysis of the Autobot scientist, Perceptor!
Perceptor got a release in the Generations line back in 2011’s Reveal the Shield subline, but fans had issue with this release, not least in his long face. Titans Return updates Perceptor again, this time with a boxy look and the original microscope alternate mode, and a more faithful headsculpt. The robot mode is solid, and has nice articulation. The microscope mode is a microscope, every bit as exciting – or not – as the original. The tank mode is not documented in the instructions, and does feel like a bit of an afterthought, but it is a nice bonus. Convex seems to be extremely hard to fit onto this tank mode – we can see how it is possible to do it, but it doesn’t seem to fit. Perceptor’s interaction with his Headmaster is microscope mode is pretty awesome, as he’s examining it through his own microscope.
Overall Perceptor is a fun toy, and we’ve enjoyed playing with him in the process of creating this gallery. Check him out below:

Why does perceptor have yellow energon in the titans return show
CrimsonMagnus
Excellent shot! Glad im not the only one that sees it lol
Sol Fury
I may have noticed…
CrimsonMagnus
I\'m sure im not the only one who noticed but i just gotta ask: anyone notice how convex\'s robot mode looks like g1 perceptor?
The Smirker
Really didn't like the face sculpt, everything looks good. I meanwhile, lost the head, took out the long transformation piece of plastic. I decided that it was a bad custom, because I scraped off one of the pegs on the legs, because it looked dumb and I scratched most of the paint on one of the legs. Anyways, it's for sale:

Anyways, nice shots and I might suggest using a little bit more of a dramatic feeling for the pics.
Mykltron
Solid? I think you mean hollow.
Dude, it's this season's style #ThighGap #ForearmGap #UpperArmGap #TorsoGap
ultramagnus1
Great version of Percy. Well worth a pick up IMO.
ABH1979
Looks good, but I'm getting Takara's LG56 — I prefer the more cartoon accurate toy, whenever possible.
SouthtownKid
Bite your tongue.
YoungPrime
This kind of reminds me of the Monstrosity issue where Wheeljack, Perceptor, Ratchet and Jetfire go off underground tracking bad Energon and discover's ********.
I loved Monstrosity! And I love these guys, although Wheeljack could use an upgrade that's not another damn combiner.
DecepticusPrime
I didn't know that as I never owned G1 but know that RTS also has it over the right shoulder so it's always been peculiar to me.
Sol Fury
Yes, worth saying G1 can actually go with either shoulder (it's a simple hinge joint), I did it on the opposite shoulder on that one because it was a better composition for the photo
PlanckEpoch
Honestly the microscope seems that it could be put on any shoulder really based upon the media that I've seen. Toys have either or, while cartoon puts it over the left.
DecepticusPrime
Seeing him with the OG Percy, why did they put the cannon on the opposite shoulder from what g1 had
CleverNamePendingatron
I've got one of these myself. It's a nice toy, but the tank mode is a bit of a let down. However, I find that if you turn the cannon the other way around, the whole tank looks much cooler backwards. It goes from awkward microscope on wheels to awesome space tank of death.
PlanckEpoch
Favorite figure of TR, I think. NAILED the G1 look and feel in modern form and it's a figure that I absolutely cannot put down. Looks so much better with the reprolabels set!
Black Convoy
Awesome mold! And we need a really new incarnation of Wheeljack, not a single remold like the CW one, but I liked it too.
Revan1307
unite warriors wheeljack would look so much better in this picture
Capirus
Forgot how cool this guy was; great gallery. I'm glad that I picked him up before the stores stopped selling him. To any of you still looking, I wish you luck.
AutobotAvalanche
Looks fantastic. Hope I can find him, he's all I need from wave 4.
