When the TFCC gave us modern updates of Generation 1 Targetmasters Spinister and Needlenose last year, a few of us were left thinking, “where is Quake”? Here’s the answer to that question – he’s in Titans Return!
Titans Return Quake is a reuse of the Titans Return Hardhead, one of the first Titans Return figures. Quake sports a new head, which does a good job of recreating the features of the original character, and the deco does a good job of recreating the color arrangement of the original Generation 1 Quake figure. The thunderbolt designs from the original Quake make it into this version too. Quake, like Hardhead, has excellent articulation including wrist swivels, which is appreciated. Unfortunately, as a reuse of Hardhead, Quake is no longer his original classic tank form but a high-tech tank. It’s a departure, but it is also to be expected – he’s a very obscure character, and this is probably the only new version of Quake we’re likely to see. Would we have liked a more faithful tank mode? Yes. But are we grateful for having a Quake at all to complete the 1988 Targetmaster Decepticons? Absolutely.
Check out our gallery to see nearly 200 photos of this cool update to this Decepticon Targetmaster.

No, I'm telling the chef what I'm willing to buy which tends to vary day to day. If you're content with the same meal every night then I'm not actually talking to you…
My initial point was that Hasbro should make more figures like Quake. I wouldn't care how many Primes and Bee's were on pegs if Reflector wasn't still MIA at retail the last 35+ years!
YoungPrime
I don't collect any of those but screen wise….There's Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow…… Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Dr. Strange and the D list team GOTG which wasn't popular until the MCU finally released a quality movie that does better financially than any X-men film and most Spider-man films released so far.
Long story short Spider-man makes a billion a year in merchandising for Marvel but Marvel still listens to their Fans and consumers enough to support the B, C and D list characters as well. Soooooo, as a result I don't care if they made 50 Malibu Spider-Man toys, comics, movies or cartoons since I can still watch DareDevil on Netflix any time I want (Punisher coming soon).
Same with Batman and Superman, DC has faith in scores of other DC characters. As a result your post supports my point more than whatever yours was in the first place. So thanks for bringing this up I guess.

TR Voyager OP and Megatron were only first in order of release. I doubt HasTak designed a Laser Prime homage that also transformed into a plane, and a G1 color homage/G2 altmode homage Megatron that also transformed into a plane, and then had to puzzle out who they could remold them into.
ETA: Ninja'd.

Doesn't matter if Optimus Prime and Megatron came first. The molds were designed to be Octane and Blitzwing.
Bass X0
Do you also complain that Spiderman, Batman and Superman gets the most toys in their respective toylines? Because its the same deal here.
YoungPrime
I get it… Optimus = Barbie
That doesn't mean that the other 400+ TF characters (minus Bumblebee and Windblade) don't deserve fairer treatment by Hasbro which is my point. You telling us that a new "Malibu Optimus" would sell if Hasbro released one doesn't quite help. But more figures like Quake here would.
Windsweeper II
Except people evidently do want toys of those characters and less toys of Optimus Prime or these posts wouldn't exist.
It's more like asking the chef to prepare food that people have asked for on many occasions and the chef going i do what i want.
Chef might have to find himself another job with an attitude like that.

Alright, listen buddy: the reason Hathblow keeps making successful toys of characters who sell well is because those characters are popular and sell well. You're asking the chef- actually you're asking the customers why the chef doesn't make food that no one ordered. If you were talking about GoodRiD, though, you would absolutely have a point since you don't have to scrounge the back alleys of forums like this to find somebody who wants a decent Chopshop or Menasor.
scrapmetaru
First, TR Voyager Op came first; if anyone, Octone is the remold.
Second, it's more likely that that mold (and Megawing-Blitztron) was equally meant to be both characters, as evidenced by how well both uses work as the characters that they are.
Bass X0
Optimus Prime toys sell though.
CW Optimus Prime – remold of Motormaster
TR Voyager Optimus Prime – remold of Octane
In both cases, he was only done because they had to remold one toy into someone else. He only has his own dedicated molds at leader class for TR and PotP.

I saw this guy in person today and he's actually pretty nice looking. The colours are appealing, and the face sculpt is sharp. I passed on Hardhead so I may just get this guy.
Needlenose is eh, but I would be okay with Spinister from Highbrow.
scrapmetaru
Highbrow to Spinister and Brainstorm to Needlenose, of course.
cefuroxx
I have no idea what the obvious repaint would be here
scrapmetaru
Shame that TR isn't going to do the obvious repaints to complete the trio, as well as that Funpub never got to use Brawl to finish their version of the trio.

There's a saying about that popularized by Abraham Lincoln, but in real life this version tends to be more accurate than the actual saying:
You can please some of the people some of the time, and you can please some of the people some of the time, but sometimes you can't please none of the people none of the time.
YoungPrime
My comment wasn't a Funpub bash so much as it was me pondering about future POTP and other Generations figure possibilities.
Again, FunPub is gone now anyway so there's no Grudge.
Okay, I'm shutting up now since that's all you see in my post (despite the 999+ likes).
Ironically Hasbro can't please everyone and neither can I.
G.B. Blackrock
While true, the number of TR molds that haven't been repainted yet is already VERY low. Hasbro saw an opportunity with Skullcruncher to make Krok, so they took it. They may do the same with Weirdwolf at any time.
Or they may not. It's all up to them.
stad
It's just the constant crying about Fun Pub is tiresome. It's not like they took away any opportunity for you to get a toy – quite the opposite, in fact. Being limited to doing only toys that Hasbro did not plan on doing, they simply gave you several more options (per year) that just would not have existed otherwise.
If Hasbro produces 25 figures (completely made-up numbers here), and the Club comes along and offers up another 7, how is that hurting/hindering anyone, in any way?
YoungPrime
Yeah, there's only so many TR Optimus figures that Hasbro can release in under a year (four or five). Let me stop being so impatient and quit bringing up opportunistic companies who use Hasbro's repetitive handling of characters to their advantage.
