Impressed with the New York Comicon reveal of Grotusque? Thanks to 2005 Boards member Smokescreen38 (and a very quick standard shipping from HasbroToyshop) we can share some gret Titans Return Grotusque In-Hand pictures for your viewing pleasure.
The gallery shows Grotusque in all his glory with comparison shots next to TR Doublecross. While sharing some basic engineering and parts, Grotusque has got his own personality and design. On the other hand, Titan Master partner Fengul is a nice remold of Doublecross’ Daburu with great paint applications. The little guy got a menacing new head inspired by old Japanese Beastformer Platinum Tiger. As a great extra bonus, we get a detailed Die-Cast Scorponok Titan Master (retool of Titan Master Fangry).
This figure was available for a short time at HasbroToyShop, but we are sure it will be available via our sponsors soon. While you wait, you can check some key pictures after the jump and then the full gallery at the 2005 Boards!

IE no more from the suppliers so we'll need to go to a local TRU to buy them, hence the mark up!

The claw kit was a great upgrade for him

Deleted. Quick glanced and thought I was in that thread

Nice pics but I think you'll get a better response in the Titans Return Appreciation thread, since this thread is for Titans Return Grotusque!

I was lucky enough to find two sets, one for Scorponok and the other for a custom Black Zarak

Lucky sob having the second green king kit, I could only ever find the claws by the time I got an energon scorponok to upgrade

Got my Grotusque in today, so glad to add him to the classics shelf next to Doublecross and Repugnus, who would have ever thought that he would get such a premium treatment, it's amazing!
Titanmaster Scorponok head is on Botcon 2014 Scorponok with some Headrobots 3rd party upgrades. A bit too small and doesn't peg in at all.
Comparison of G1, Botcon and TR Scorponok Head/Titan masters
Had to lean TR Scorponok forward a little since his diecast face makes him backheavy.

Sent you a PM.

Gah…I feel for ya, DoubleClouder. Sadly, you're right that you probably won't have any luck asking for replacement parts.
Not sure if this will make you feel any better but you're not the only one with this problem. I've heard of at least one other person who's Grotusque was missing parts.
I got shafted on my TRU.com MP Starscream release from a couple years back as it was missing the fingers on one of his hands. Hasbro said that they don't stock parts for their products…and from a supply chain perspective, I can see how the management of these parts could be vastly more difficult and costly than just going through the return process.
What they're missing is that collectors like us won't accept a replacement of whatever shelfwarmer they have kicking around the warehouse.
As their prices go up and up and as collectors represent a larger and larger portion of their customer base, this may change. For now, let's just hope that you can find another for retail price…one so you can return the one you have.

Got my Grotesque today, but unfortunatey he's missing his hip skirt. Kinda doubt I will be able to get a new one from HTS.

Yeah, I dig that idea… I've got mine with Repugnus right now, but they could all go with him and make it still work. Repugnus is like a small bug guy that people wouldn't even notice snooping around.

Nicely done.
I was about to say that Grotusque takes that Titanmaster very well…but Fangry goes with everyone.

That's actually a cool idea. I think I'll do that too, thanks for the share!
