The plot thickens for the once thought exclusive release of The Last Knight Hot Rod figures. TFW2005 member Nevermore continues his keen eye streak by finding an Amazon listing for the previously thought Wal-Mart exclusive Legion Hot Rod.
For those curious, Walmart’s website for features the listing as “Saturn Rings“, Hot Rod’s code name.
This seems to be following the pattern of the Deluxe Hot Rod we’ve been tracking, which hopefully translates to more opportunities for us to add him to our collections.

Iposted this pic on another thread as well, but I think this is the correct time and place, that bluish hue would have looked much better than black in my opinion. Also, this toy needs way more orange to do justice to hot rod.

Hot Rod is now also listed as part of the general retail Legion assortment at NDA Toys:

I've linked this listing in my initial post?!?

Here\'s Legion Hot Rod on Walmarts website https://www.walmart.com/ip/Transformers-Autobots-Unite-Legion-Class-Autobot-Hot-Rod/794968972 and he\'s only 4.57.

Yeah, Seibertron had a UK Asda sighting for them, and they've also been released in Hong Kong (and supposedly already disappeared off the shelves).

It is very close to Sideswipe's alt mode, almost exactly, but is molded differently. That's kind of upsetting, because those mold changes don't help this to look like his actual vehicle mode. It still looks like the fictional Sideswipe car. That could have easily changed at least the curvature of the hood, as it folds onto the back.

Pretty nice Legion mold, but I have a Legion scaled Hot Rod which I prefer, so this one is a pass for me.
I would like to get a couple more of the TLK Legions, but distribution of them by me has been really poor. I have never seen a Hound or Crosswise, and those are the two I was looking forward to.

I wonder. I love the size class myself and get legion stuff from lines I don't even collect (RiD). But perhaps it's telling just how downsized (no puns) it is since the days of Prime and DotM.
The lack of accessories on legion and legends has got to be the most staggeringly irritating cost measure I've seen in recent times, especially with legends. We used to get triple-changing micromasters!

What about the Legion 2 packs? They’re the only Autobots Unite I’ve not seen in my local ASDA. They been spotted anywhere?

To be fair to Hot Rod a lot of legion, legend and even deluxe toys use that basic transformation.

disappointed that he is a rid sideswipe repaint….

As far as I can tell, the 1-Step 2-pack with Bumblebee hasn't been released anywhere outside the UK yet, not even in Asia.
User_136440
I predict we’ll see a single general release of the one step soon…
Incidentally, the shelf labels in ASDA for the exclusive versions also have him as ‘Saturn’s Rings’ too.

Nah, you're not getting lambasted, at least not by me.
Just for elaboration (and not intended as shrugging you off at all): The "Autobots Unite" packaging version has been sighted in the UK two months ago, along with the rest of the "Autobots Unite" subline, some of which has been barely (if at all) sighted anywhere else.

Congrats to your find, though!
I think what you're meaning to say is that the two figures share the same engineering.

NuRiD Sideswipe is a nice mold, though. Nice articulation for this scale and good show accuracy. Pity this size class no longer comes with any accessories.
Might be a good Legion for people who like the Movieverse aesthetics, but quite a pointless purchase for someone who already got NuRiD 'Swipe.

It's EXACTLY Sideswipe. Yeah, new mold, but the transformation skeleton is the other figure turn for turn.
I get excited for Legion releases. Heck, the Cyberverse thread in the toy section is full of those that would be happy with more Legion releases.

Good-looking for a Legion. But if I wanted a Legion TLK to carry arround as my fidget toy I'd rather want Barricade or Cogman.

ASDA is Wal*mart in the UK, LONG track record of the US Wal*mart exclusives, and that is the exclusive version of the packaging, showing up there.
