Thanks to 2005 Boards member IcarusPenn we can report that Transformers: The Last Knight “Autobots Unite” Deluxe Hot Rod is finally available at Walmart.com.
The figure is ready to order for $22 plus shipping here. This is an interesting follow up to the general listing of the figure at Amazon.com that we reported before which is not available yet.
It’s good to notice that we are looking at 2 different packaging versions. Walmart got the “Autobot Unite” box while the listing on Amazon shows the general Premier Edition box Style. You can check the differences here thanks to 2005 Boards user Nevermore.
Update: Out Of Stock At the moment

Yeah this was a terrible toy. Just disappointing from top to bottom. Except alt mode. That was pretty sweet and it's the only reason I've kept him so far.

Hopefully a better mold for this guy will be made for the Studio Series line…

While I did buy the Time Gun made by Shapeways I was hoping an add on piece that turns his his two toe feet into boots.
Hopefully Studio Series releases a new Hot Rod figure in the future with his

1. Why are you quoting my post from October?
2. Yeah I now, the point was Roadbuster would have been a better base to work off of than lockdown.
lars573
Lockdown and Roadbuster are not the same mold.

So apparently Deluxe Hot Rod was also available in "Premier Edition" packaging in the Philippines.

The general retail version of Deluxe Hot Rod has been listed in several more places:
Amazon Canada (same ASIN as on Amazon US)
Toys Giocattoli from Italy (oddly, the item title lists general retail Hot Rod's Hasbro product code number C4058, but the item description lists Steelbane's number C2401)
OCompra from Mexico, which directs to this Mercado Libre listing (oddly, the stock photo depicts the exclusive Autobots Unite version of Delxue Hot Rod, but the UPC barcode is stated as 630509624898, which is the UPC for general retail Hot Rod… except OCompra also lists the UPC 630509617715, which is completely new to me and not the UPC for Autobots Unite Hot Rod)
Amazon China (different ASIN than on Amazon US and Amazon Canada, but still linked to the UPC 630509624898) – release date February 23?!?
China Global Mall (though this is a weird listing that includes Deluxe Hot Rod, Sqweeks and Cogman plus Leader Dragonstorm?)
SMCDM from China
EDIT: Proof of the toy's existence in this packaging from this Taobao listing…

This has already been covered and answered. The .com and the physical stores are different from one another and sometimes carry different stock. Some physical stores have gotten it in (Scottimus Prime found it in New York) and many people received one from the .com, that doesn't change the fact that my store and it's distribution center(s) and warehouse(s) read as 0 across the board and the item is listed as "non-replenishable". Other locations around the country have not seen it in person. Also, my post that you've referenced was posted before he came in stock to the .com. Please read the entire thread before posting and dredging items back up that have already been answered.

I was able to order this guy off Walmart.com and did a deliver to store and the box had a Walmart exclusive sticker on it.

I am sometimes a snarky person (and I'm trying not to be, but in some cases, snark is warranted!), but as you can see from some of the reactions in this thread, other people agree that the statement I was reacting to was a little ambiguous and vague and thus a genuine follow-up question was maybe not entirely undeserved.

Thank you sir for the update

Maybe you are being snarky or rude.
I don't know you and generally don't have a problem with your posts, but when multiple people all have the same issue with you, they might have a point about how you're presenting yourself.

Lol…I'm seriously beginning to think Hasbro is messing with us…maybe looking for a new business/distribution model for movie toys. Asian markets have had Hot Rod for awhile( and offered them on ebay for at least $10 less than what US sellers able to snag him domestically listed them for). Walmart.com finally throws him up for $19.99 and sells out in what…2 days? Now 1 week later they drop the price to $15.47 (still sold out though provided you can actually get the search to work) which COMPLETELY throws off pricing.
Personally I have no problem with store specific exclusives but think new or key characters should always be standard issue across the board and the waves should be scheduled to accommodate that. For example why not make wave 1 deluxe Hot Rod, Bumblebee, Barricade and Berzerker or maybe substitute Roddy for Drift if you want to keep it fresh and have people coming back for wave 2. Voyager should've been Prime and Megs …period with Nitro Zuess being wave 2. The dinobots were barely featured in Last Knight so I doubt kids are gonna care about repaints especially since they already picked them up during AOE (mine certainly don't).
The previous films (whether you like the Bayverse or not) at least had momentum so there wasn't much of an an issue. However, Last Knight sucked (even by previous standards and expectations) which makes me think the film derailed the standard distribution model. I don't know… maybe it's just me but the whole thing smells fishy, like they're scrambling to see what will work or something.

Oh, and just to show how incompetent Walmart's website design is: The Deluxe Hot Rod figure people have been ordering isn't even showing up in a website search for "Transformers Hot Rod"! Everyone who ordered him did so through a link initially discovered via a backdoor. Makes me wonder how much product from the online store regularly remains unsold because ordinary customers have no way of ordering it.
Angry Camaro
Got mine shipped to the store and picked it up Monday!

But that's kinda the point. The confusion is already there, so pointing out that the packaging obtained via Walmart has a "Walmart exclusive" sticker is essentially stating the obvious.
Now, of course it's possible that Wackimus Prime hadn't read the entire thread and thus wasn't aware that the ambiguity of the entire situation had already been established. It's also possible that the surprised reaction was related to something different I wasn't immediately aware of. So I asked for clarification before making a statement that might prompt a "I KNOW THAT ALREADY" response.
Seems like a situation where no matter what I do, I lose either way because I'm automatically assumed to be "rude" just because.
