Thanks to a posting on 4chan, we have what appears to be a new product in the works for Mastermind Creations’ Reformatted line. “Indominus” appears to be based on IDW/More Than Meets The Eye Grimlock with some of Mastermind’s own styling mixed in. Since this image doesn’t come directly from Mastermind Creations themselves, this is likely still in development and will probably see some changes when we see the final product or announcement.
In the meantime, check out the design after the jump

You keep bringing up the third party beast wars without mentioning that they're scaled and designed to go with masterpiece beast wars. They aren't just upscaled, they have different molding and updated articulation. They're stylized to look like they came straight out of the 90's cartoon, like the other MP Beast wars figures, and they scale almos perfectly. Most of your issues are whining, nitpicking, and being unable to recognize obvious things, thats on you.

Did I ever once say that CHUG scaled figures are inferior to MP scaled figures? I'm not arguing that MP is better than CHUG as if it's a fact; because it's not. I'm simply stating that the market is clearly distinct. Optus Pexus is fucking amazing. Its engineering is top notch, and while I dislike how his appearance isn't exactly accurate to the comics (which is one of the major gripes I have had with MMC reformatted figures for a long time now), I don't deny that its engineering supersedes a ton of figures, even some MPs. But it doesn't fit in anything outside of their line/CHUG collections. Hence why it's a CHUG figure. A really great one, but it is exactly that.
All I said was that PX and MMC targets two distinct markets. You can buy both grimlocks and you won't have the feeling that you completely wasted your money. Why? Because one is designed for one line of figures and has a resemblance to one form of IDW grimlock, and the other is designed for another line with a resemblance to another form of IDW grimlock. It's not so hard to understand.
I agree with you that the lines have been blurred between scales. But that's because the quality of smaller scaled figures have been going up, not because the MP scale's quality has been going down. (Not arguing for takara, I don't know what the hell they've been doing with their recent releases but they don't make 'em like they used to). But IDW carnifex's scale is debateable. He is CHUG. He was just massive in the comics. He's scaled really well with the other MMC figures. And that's that. If someone made an MP sized rodimus and put it next to carnifex, carnifex would feel too small. Grimlock isn't as big as overlord was in IDW. That guy was a beast.
Now you can call me out for heresy, but in my personal opinion, MMC, while being built really well in terms of durability and user friendliness, doesn't really hold its own in terms of accuracy. Look at rodimus, look at cyclonus, even their chromedome doesn't look completely accurate to the comics. It is known that they cut corners in terms of design and paint just so they can maximise profit. And i'm perfectly okay with you and many others liking MMC's style, but that's not my cup of tea. I prioritise display value over play value. That's how I collect my figures. You don't see me beating others over the head on an internet forum because their collecting habits and opinions differentiate from mine.
There's also something to be said about MMC scrapping their grimlock because of planet X's. Could it be because PX's cacus' resemblance to the IDW MD design is much more accurate compared to TRUX's resemblance to the IDW MTMTE design and that they didn't have full confidence that their product could compete with Planet X's? Who knows?
You just need to relax. It's just a toy company. Who the fuck cares? MMC and planet X are doing 2 different grimmys. MMC happened to cancel theirs. Don't like it? Don't buy it. But let others who enjoy the figure enjoy it in peace.
TLDR; Once again, 2 companies, 2 markets, 2 distinct looks grimlock has had over the IDW run in 2 different scales. Arguing about which company is better or which grimlock is better is borderline redundant and shouldn't be debated as aggressively as it has been in this thread since they aren't exactly aiming for the same market anyway
QuintusTheExaltedOne
nah theres a pretty clear scale difference between chug and masterpiece. Sometimes masterpiece characters are smaller because IDW made the characters huge. The sizes overlap but what goes with what is pretty obvious. PX Cacus is a situation where it fits both CHUG and Masterpiece.

Why are we even comparing which company did grimlock better/ is better? Why must one be superior to another just because they're based on the same character/ doing the same style of figures? It is extremely clear that planet X is doing an MP-scale based IDW line and MMC has been doing "CHUG" scaled IDW for years now. Those are clearly very different scales. MMC was clearly aiming for a more MTMTE/LL design when that figure was in the works and PX has gone for the MD design. They're worlds apart. Just pick your favourite and discuss. Why is there a need to put down the other just because you prefer a certain design? What a nonsensical debate.

I love it when You're can't get by on the merit of Your argument so You resort to pointing out spelling errors, Calling people names, est… MMC has dominated the chugsterpiece/IDW market and I love Planet-x but MMC has been doing this for years. And yes they dominate there market and it's going to Keep happening rather You like it are not.
Jamiec1979
Why do You even buy MMC products all you ever do is crap on them lmao I mean Comparing them to Hasbro is crazy, Planet-x is pretty dang good there my second favorite company but there no MMC. And they sure don't have the same amount of paint as fanstoys. Though what they do apply is great and probably better then MMC. Imo paint is the only think MMC doesn't do great. But we each have are on opinions and if You like Planet-x better great You win but to compare MMC to the mainline come on.

ok ✅ You should try it sometime !

and I’ll do the opposite

I dunno… PX Cacus looks very CHUGgy to me in bot mode especially. Maybe not mainline CHUG, but the aesthetic and refinement of a "super-CHUG". It's not entirely a bad thing, but I really dislike the spherical chest and the hollowed-out backsides of some of the parts. MMC's Trux looked much more promising and refined to me, and made me think I might actually buy a Grimlock for my MP/3P collection. As it stands, I think I'll continue to avoid the Dinobots.

@Dudaisamazing @QuintusTheExaltedOne –
I like both of ya’ll, but seriously the correct answer here is PX’s design ;3 lol.
Let’s put it this way. Once MMC’s Deathsaurus actually materializes in “retail” form, let’s put this argument to bed. If somehow the final product looks more accurate, maybe I’ll get it. The way things are going though; I’ll likely just try to secure a head from MMC/PSX/US Retailer.
About Grimlock:
That said — this topic should probably be locked/closed. We have some of MMC’s own designer(s) coming into the PX thread and saying this design is probably cancelled and how good PX’s looks – let alone Nick Roche, Alex Milne and Josh also saying as much.
QuintusTheExaltedOne
IDW’s Deathsaurus in dragon mode isn’t chunky though. My entire point is proportion wise Planet X matches IDW more in both modes. MMC’s was designed to be a modern update of the original Deathsaurus so he has a Godzilla type build. I don’t really care who can win a fight, that was never part of the argument. MMC’s headsculpts are sharper and more accurate but the entire design is just not even close to IDW’s. PX’s is. Also I’m not a dude
octobotimus
Yeah that one still makes no sense to me. It’s like MMC canceling their Optus pexus because Hasbro made siege prime.
lordcryotek
Yeah, the head is all wrong. Planet X just can't compare with MMC's head sculpts.
User_121147
No it was cancelled due to planet X figure being further along as mmc only had digital renderings and Planet X had a prototype. Same with Mmc warpath it was only digital rendering then hasbro came out with their and so mmc cancelled it.
OriginalFire
Did this even come out yet?

In my opinion PX is not in the same market as MMC. The distinction is PX makes MP IDW while MMC just makes CHUG IDW. The two products PX have released have tons of diecast and they are painted on the same level as FT products. I have 30 Reformatted bots, but they are like Hasbro mainline compared to what PX has done.
I mean you can't convince poor people that Louis Vutton is worth it. They ain't got the money
