Wonder if this is the criticism that will bring back the old James from Tumblristan…

"Finished all the pages that had a MTMTE feel… Now working on the rest of the book."
Ouch! Not a very promising description of the script. Can't wait to see the characters look like their old selves again though.
Lucas35
He is already working on Lost Light # 13.

Hmm… if Milne comes back on the book on any kind of extended basis, I might have to come back to the book too. Maybe. I took a good long break when MTMTE wrapped up because I found the writing had really degraded. I wanted to give Lost Light a shot, but every time I looked at a preview, the art just wasn\'t selling me on it.

Comics are definitely a writing and visual medium. Nothing against Lawrence, but the style is way too cartoony compared to Milne's work. It's like going from Transformers Prime to RID.
Hope to see him work on more in the future.

Hallelujah!! Can't wait @markerguru

I promise I will buy every LL with Milne even if Roberts' writing is so shoddy

While I don't hate Lawrence or Tramontano's art, in fact I quite enjoy it, having Milne back on the book is a godsend. And a sign that idw id beginning to realise how badly they've messed up this last year and are going back to writer/artist combos that work. Who knows maybe this means we'll get Griffin back on a book with Barber. Or Another book helmed by Maighred Scott and Sara Stone. Or Dare I to dream, Simon Furman and Guido Guidi.
And here's some wishful thinking, maybe idw will realize what a stilborn mess the hasbroverse is, kill off Gijoe, and go back to making Good Transformers comics.

Thank Jebus!! I'm about drop the title over the current artist

True. For example, MTMTE 16 nearly ruined the "Remain In Light" arc for me. All of the emotional fallout was badly depicted imo. That should I've been an incredible, powerful issue and it turned out…less than it should have been. Rewinds final message lost a lot of its punch because it looked terrible.
Also, as stated before that is all just imo. I'm sure some people loved it.

I absolutely agree. However, I don't think the current art fits that category. Naturally, art is very subjective to the viewer's personal tastes…
Man, I miss those days… Things changed in the 90's around the time shortly before Image was founded. It's settled down a bit since then, but artists rarely stay on books for long anymore. They're always being pulled away from the books people love them in to draw "better" things.

There is hope after all!
Rockdown
Okay. I will buy that issue.

Very glad to hear it! As much as I don't hate Lawrence's art, it just doesn't work for this comic. Milne brought life to the characters in a way that seemed to soften Roberts's over-the-top dialogue, mainly by how well he conveys body language. Plus it's just so damn detailed and pretty to look at. The fact that he'll be on for a longer run (fingers crossed that it's the remainder of the run) is even more exciting.

While I'm glad that he's back, I'm not sure it will be enough to save the comic for me. If anything the less then stellar art exposed even more how shoddy Robert's writing has gotten.

This is epidemic across the comics industry. Writers getting almost sole credit for a book's success, artists failing to be credited or referenced in interviews and press, etc etc. The writer has been presented as all-encompassing with the artists as interchangeable or disposable. This is a failure to understand comics as a medium.
I can't say for sure, but had Milne been doing the artwork for Lost Light to this point, OR had their not been such a distasteful screw-up regarding his replacement on the book, I might have continued buying. It's not just that his art is pretty (it is), it's that Milne understands how to tell a story featuring Transformers in his layouts and panelwork. He creates tremendous facial and body language in robots (many of whom do not have mouths). And importantly, he is able to convey Roberts' complicated and sometimes too-clever scripts into a visual language that complements and strengthens the plot and dialogue. He makes the story MORE readable and accessible; the art of Lawrence and Priscilla so far on LL does not succeed in that goal IMO, rendering the book more difficult to read and failing to convey the "big ideas" and weirdness and pace in a meaningful way.
RNSrobot
This is correct.

Great, it'll be good to see the characters looking less chibi!

Is that cover an homage to another comic? It has a distinctive 90's feel to it but not sure if its trying to reference something in particular.
