Hasbro have updated their Transformers Youtube channel with a designer desk video for Transformers The Last Knight Leader Megatron. In this video, Hasbro’s John Warden talks through some of the key points of this new Megatron’s design. Check out the video below, and be sure to stay to the end for some outtakes!

I'm sure they'll find use for those too! Maybe as wheels? Edible-formers! Transforming the way you see food and toys!
GoldDeadEnd
And despite some of the derision towards Warden's statement, he really has one of the most complex transformations we've seen in some time. Not to the point of being annoying, either. Just a blissful conversion where you get reminded how amazing and interesting these things can be in the greater world of toys.

Yeah, hoping the Movie the Best version addresses this.
SPLIT LIP
And that's a really bad sign for your video meant to showcase a toy for advertisement's sake.
WishfulThinking
Indeed. There's really only one forearm gap and it's on his left arm. The cannon arm looks fine.
The only issues are the loose ratchets in the hips and the forearm curl. Otherwise, he's pretty darn awesome. He is eye-catching and has a fantastic alt-mode.
GoldDeadEnd
The lack of curling arms on the voyager makes it less of an issue for me. Although I should say the gap on the cannon arm on the leader actually doesn't hugely bother me. Cannon does a bit of work filling some of it in.
WEEGEE
I think the people making fun of this care more then the people who made it.
NGW
Voyager has gappy forearms too. Will give you the hip issues though.
Xaxis
This had me so confused at first because I read it as "Cheerios".
Lumpy
For kids, who these toys are made for, 30 steps can be complex.
Perobsally, I loved the video. You can tell he had fun and that he loves working on this brand.
Also, the bloopers are pretty funny
"This version of Megatron… he's a bad guy"
GoldDeadEnd
I'd say he'd be better than the voyager if it weren't for the forearm gaps and GARBAGE hip tolerances. Love him still. Love every TLK Megs, honestly. And this guy's flame effects are pretty useful with Trypticon.
NGW
I agree. I like the voyager, but the leader has a better transformation and looks better, plus bigger.
GAUGE
I'm sorry, but the moment he said "COMPLEX Transformation" I laughed so hard I broke my chair. Then I shut the video off.
There is absolutely NOTHING complex about that toy.
Richard McBeef
I'll wait for the Movie the Best version. I like the lighter gray, brings out the details of the sculpt better. But, yeah, that hollow forearm is a damn eyesore. Oh well.
Stygian360
Having met John in person at SDCC a few years ago I can tell you he's not being falsely enthusiastic or "derpy". Obviously derpy is in the eye of the beholder, but still.
This figure could have been great and a really nice one up on the Voyager if it weren't for the hair trigger on that arm cannon. Not every figure can be a winner, but this one felt like it should have had a few more days/months of QC before it hit store shelves simply based on the price alone. Meh… it happens.

I love it when people try too hard to be cool.
Did a 35 year old on Meth write that commercial script?
primalxconvoy
They forgot the part at the end where they then ship the almost finished figure to their Chinese factory, where "our friends are Wei Jiang do their final touches to REALLY make the figure pop!"…
bman29
They could have went one step further and hired people specifically to chew up Cheetos and create a paste like substance to fill the follow spaces in the gorilla arms. I really think its more environmentally friendly and if you get hungry you can lick your figures.
Hasbro: You are sitting on a golden cheesy pile of money.

"Fitting the giant cheeto into the budget meant some minor sacrifices elsewhere, thus the hollow gorilla arms and flimsy plastic. But we knew the fandom would love the cheeto as much as we do, and we're excited to bring it to them."
