The Amazon exclusive Transformers Tribute Optimus Prime has been released. Tribute Optimus Prime is a special 10th anniversary release of the original 2007 Leader class Optimus Prime, with a chrome grill and a sharp deco. He’s retailing for $80, which is quite an inflation over the original cost, and in stock to ship to fans now.

Anyone have a loose automorphing foot on this figure?

With the holidays fast approaching, what do y'all think are the chances of some Black Friday or Christmas discounts on this and others?

At that price, you can bet it'd be more cost effective for me to install lights into my nipple than to actually buy this figure. But I digress, TF07 Leader Prime is a great figure in its own right
rodimusconvoy
But….but it has a light up nipple feature….

YO IF SOMEONE BUYS THIS, PLEASE SCAN THE INSERT OF THE BOX. I SWORE I JUST SAW SOME COOL NODS TO THE 07 MOVIE LIKE JAZZ AND RATCHET'S VISAGES
Basilisk
If he came with both the Sword and the Gun and was way less he'd be worth it.

Well arguably the motor could go out and it could be potentially destroyed by battery acid long before anything happens to one of the current leader toys.

Still not confirmed or even obvious from those "leaks". I'd absolutely be down for such a line and I'm sure Hasbro sees it as a good way to have their standard sized assortment of Movie figures for next year despite very few Transformers actually being in the movie, and pleasing the fans. Birds and stones. Still, between those weird dates and the whole idea sounding like something retailers may not be confident selling, I'm going to be completely pessimistic and wait for info at Hascon.
As for the actual topic of the thread, it would probably be better to source a 2007 original. More accurate paint, no silly application of chrome, and just as fun.

Isn't the movie series for 2018 mostly going to be movie anniversary stuff? Which is new molds. This was probably a cheap and easy way to get out another anniversary figure for Movie Prime. And as others have said, TLK's lackluster performance might make retailers skittish about movie product, so Amazon exclusive at stupid markup.

Which one will last longer over time? 2007 Leader Prime mold.
I have a soft spot for this toy. It was one of the toys that drew me back in to Transformers. I love the added chrome. It makes it look sooooo much better.

This is no news, it was reported a long time ago in the amazon thread

Probably because most retailers aren't going to give them shelf space for ten year old repackaged leader toys that costs $80.
TCJJ
My guess is that retailers weren't interested in more movie products, especially after AOE and TLK, thus the exclusivity. Factoring that in, that's probably another reason why the price is so inflated.
It looks neat but I'm certainly not going to buy one at this price. Plus, you know, chrome all over the feet. Masterpiece Soundwave called – he wants his bullshit back.
Spartan Prime
Not worth it. Not by a long shot.

80 buck is way to steep for me, and why is this an amazon exclusive?! I thought this would be an instore thing sitting at maybe 50 dollars. The most I\'d go for is 60. 80 is asking to much.

I'm honestly wondering why Hasbro isn't just releasing the Transformers Tribute line at mass retail. It would be pretty cool, not to mention it would tie us movie collectors over until the Bumblebee movie is released next year.

My exact reaction.

That price is actually kind of reasonable though tax makes it a bit nastier for Californians like myself.
