And we bring you our usual round up of concept art images of The Last Knight that continue surfacing on the web. This time we have some art of Onslaught, Knights Room, Merlin’s Sarcophagus And More.
As usual, thanks to all members of our 2005 Boards for sharing these great images. You can find the pictures on the next threads:
– Onslaught By Josh Nizzi. An awesome full body art of the twin brother of Long Haul.
– Knights Room By James Paick. A panoramic view of this astonishing scenery.
– Ancient Ship Hatch, Merlin’s Sarcophagus and underwater ship dragon by Thomas Pringle. Some other great pieces of scenery that were proposed for the film.
You can go to the respective threads or you can check the pictures after the jump.

Honestly, I just think they got lazy and/or needed to save money so they reused a previously made asset.
QLRformer
That dragon's new. He looks like he could have definitely transformed into a robot knight.

In all likelihood, Nizzi probably didn't create this whole piece from scratch. He probably already took an existing asset and painted over that, which is normal in the concept art industry. Even if he did, he knows his baby inside and out from all the reuse it's found. Wouldn't take more than two days, and that's me overestimating from the point of view of an art student. It's still CONCEPT ART. It's still a concept. "If we had to use Long Haul's model for Onslaught, with a few tweaks, what would that look like?" That's the concept. The modelers and animators can't just take the Long Haul model and tweak it to this extent on their own because they're not designers unless it's also in their job title.

My point is why a new piece was necessary. Just use the existing long haul

Awesome artwork… yet Onslaught never got a chance to unleash his capabilities in action. WHY, MICHAEL BAY, WHHHHHHYY!?

Not to mention they use concept art to sell a movie to investors and to help pitch movies.
Asking why concept art is important is the same as asking why people still buy books. It's a completely uninformed "opinion" and shows how little someone knows about the process of making a movie.

Nah, you're giving people too much a credit if you think anyone can do it better. In fact, a lot of Transformers fans can't write good transformers stories to save their life. No offense.
Jazz210
In brawls defense and least he had a shootout before being killed. He didn't just show up with badass weapons, didnt use them and have his head hand it to him
EnerJohn
Are they even trying anymore with this franchise?
fishpop
Onslaught was such a waste of the name.
And we\'ve already had Brawl in the first movie aswell. >.<

Here\'s hoping a third party company will make a voyager/leader class onslaught. Worst case senario is that I\'ll have to heavily customise HFTD Payload.

Longslaught

Hasbro completely skipped on making this guy. With the Premier Edition boxes and how some of the toys actually look, I\'m pretty sure he could fit but here\'s hoping TF6 makes him and the other two.
kaiserlisk
The modelers and animators need a reference.
Jazz210
Seeing the Onslaught concept makes me wish he was named something more like Roadkill or Brainfart…cuz he was far far far away over the hill past the island from being the badass Onslaught as he should have been. All that weaponry and yet he used none of it. Pointless just pointless and a waste
Hell even 07 Bonecrusher had a badass "15 seconds of fame" scene before he was decapitated
Caminus Prime
If this was their way to do right by the previous wasted design potential of long haul to Onslaught they failed fantastically. With how most of these Decepticons were executed in TLK I swear to you anybody could do better.
DecepticusPrime
It's hard to comprehend why someone would make CONCEPT ART if something Thats clearly a minor revamp of something already made. What's the point?
