Adam Beechen; the showrunner of Transformers: Robots In Disguise recently had a chat with his fans through his official website.
During the Hasbro Investor Day which took place last week, it was revealed that RID will end this year and be replaced with a new show titled Transformers: Cyberverse. Naturally, fans had questions about the matter.
“Question: Are you working on the new cartoon [Transformers: Cyberverse] by any chance?
Adam Beechen: I’m not working on the new series. Just like RID was a change from Prime, I think Hasbro wanted to try something new and wanted new voices for it.
Question: Based on previous finales they all seemed to wrap up the show pretty well, without giving out what happens in Combiner Force, can you say it’ll wrap up the series fairly well?
Adam Beechen: Do you really think I’m going to say, “No, it’s a terrible ending?” Of course we think it’ll wrap up the series well! 🙂
Question: I just hope the end of RID wraps up all dangling plots (Soundwave, Stunticons, Steeljaw’s Pack and The Council).
Adam Beechen: I think it wraps up everything that’s important, but ultimately, how good a job it does will be up to the viewers.”
Additionally, the Episode Count of RID was also revealed as 71; making the current season (Season 3/4 a.k.a. Combiner Force) to be the final season of the series without another mini-series or a TV Movie to conclude the show.
The oldest question regarding Transformers: Robots In Disguise was also answered: “Why is the show called Robots In Disguise when there was an old show with the same name?”
“When I came aboard, there were a number of possible titles for the series (I won’t tell you what they were) and the one Hasbro settled on was RID. The creative team didn’t have input into their decision. I thought it was strange, too, given the earlier show of the same name, and the fact that our show wasn’t particularly going to be about our characters spending much time in disguise. But they chose what they chose, and certainly, when people think Transformers, many of them think of the classic phrase, “Robots In Disguise,” so maybe that worked a little in our favor and attracted some viewers. I don’t know.”
Rest of the questions are all targeted towards the plot and characters of Robots In Disguise. Some even about upcoming episodes. Therefore, we are not going to spoil you on our front page. Check out the Q&A session over at Mr. Beechen’s Official Website.
We thank Adam Beechen and the rest of the cast and crew of Transformers: Robots In Disguise for a job well done and look forward to their work in the future.

Agreed.
Which I asked him about them. I got told to forget it, they're never coming back.
This is what irks me about RID. I don't care if they want to tell their own story. Bu the show was billed as a Sequel to Prime. The reason folks are angry upset is because we were promised a continuation.
Which we did not get, except in small amounts.

Glad he answered my questions!

There are some scary people asking questions on there. Like stalker types. I shall back away from there and this thread quietly.

Mods and TFW2005 staff, please help me out:
You WON'T spoil RID episodes, but you WILL spoil TCC subscription service shipments????
So a website that's arguably devoted to the TOYS has no problem spoiling toys? But animated programs need special spoiler warnings? Not cool.
I'm not criticizing, I'm perplexed. TFW's right to spoil surprise toy shipments was heavily defended, but you guys DON'T "spoil" TV programs? I suppose it's because you LITERALLY interpret "spoil" as it applies everywhere else: that is, you can spoil TV, but you cannot spoil anything else. Oye.
Spin-Out
Damn. No Warrior Springload, then. =/

I dont know how anyone can call RID an upgrade… The only downside of TFP was the animation meant a smaller cast.
I'd take 20 Miko's and 100 Raf's before I'd ever want more after thought characters like Russell and his father.

I'm waiting on him to respond to my questions

The last news on his website is from 2015… where is this Q/A then?

"It wasn't important to the story we were telling." But I'D love to know, especially the one about where the Fallen got his powers from.
I really hope they lessen the filler in the remaining 12 episodes.
What I'd really love to know is if that unidentified Decepticon Ratchet captured in Season 2.5 is a spoiler or not. (Airachnid?)

Every time I hear about what Hasbro\'s corporate side is doing, I am a little disappointed.

I would like to see that Team Prime join Team Bee to achieve some missions together, which I think it will be awesome.
So sad we are gonna say goodbye to RID,I really hope there will be a good ending to all of them. After all, they are family always and forever.

Sad to see RID go. It was a serious upgrade of Prime alltough season two and especially 2,5 were a heavy drop in quality.
With season 3 we are going out with a bang however as the writing is back on par with season one.
Hope we are not actually getting more Prime cast dropping in, that would be dissapointing.

Even though RID's been quite the downgrade from Prime, it's been a welcome addition to the TF show lineup and I've enjoyed watching a lot of it (especially Season 1). I'm excited to see what Cyberverse brings, but from what we know about it so far it seems like it'll kinda be retelling old stories in a sense (e.g. G1 and Beast Wars… I think?). Really kinda been itching to see a new and original TF cartoon with a new cast of characters and such, plus a fresh toyline. That said, maybe Cyberverse will be different than it currently seems, but even if it isn't, that won't be a huge problem for me unless it reaches the lows of Combiner Wars (I have my reservations for Titans Return as well ). So I'm just hoping for a fun toyline and an enjoyable show, at the least.

He didn't reveal much because obviously he doesn't want to give out spoilers, but he did reveal somethings I found interesting that I will spoiler tag.
Heavynova
I can\'t figure that site out… can someone please post the other Q&A regarding RID for me?
SeanTF1967
Earlier in the Q&A he mentions he supervised the writing of 71 episodes. Which would lead us up to the end of Combiner Force. I don't know if you want to add it to the news post or not, but I think it should be noted.

LOL. That is cool.
Based on the above answers, the current season of RID (Season 3/4 a.k.a. Combiner Force) seems to be the finale of the series, then.

Boy was it hard to sift through that format. I guess the only nitpick I have is not assigning characters and locations some names, even if just placeholders. I think names play a strong factor when it comes to creating coherent and expansive storyworlds, and it sometimes comes off as lazy when there is no official designation for an entity. I sometimes archive stuff, and I understand the struggle of documentation when there is no official name to identify a character/vehicle/etc. by.
Purple Heart
Now we know why it's called RID.
