Amazon Japan has listed a Transformers G1 Japanese Blu-Ray Release which includes the series Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers & Transformers 2010 in one single pack.
This release is for the Japanese market which aired G1 under the titles: Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers for seasons 1 and 2 (65 episodes), and Transformers 2010 for season 3 (30 episodes). You may remember that season 4 “Rebirth” was not aired in Japan since they started their own series to continue the story, starting with “The Headmasters”.
There are 2 versions available: a Regular edition (14,457 yen – 130 Dollars) and an Amazon.co.jp exclusive edition (19,440 Yen – 175 Dollars) and they are scheduled for release on 02/07/2018 and 12/06/2017 respectively. Both are a 3-disc Blu-ray pack.
This release will come with Japanese audio and the booklets that were included in the three previous DVD box sets, as well as new art drawn by artist Guido Guidi and a three-piece folding case. Different audio languages and any subtitles other than Japanese are unlikely and would be out-of-place for most Japanese releases, but it’s possible.
One important thing to consider is that the description of the product clearly indicates that it’s the same quality as the previous Japanese DVD release of the series.
You may check the cover after the jump and join to the discussion at the 2005 boards.

Ill have to check it out. But if you liked The Wire, I highly recommend Sons of Anarchy. Its even better. Same concept just on a different level.

It's the show I watched right after I finished with The Wire.
Truly the best cop shows ever made. Unlike The Wire, The Shield was on FX, and you simply can't get away with what that show portrayed on regular TV nowadays.

On Disc 2 of the set, it included episodes 31-65 of FSRL in Japanese Audio. Episodes 64/65 (Attack of the Autobots and Day of the Machines) in English were a special feature of this disc. On Disc 3, The Rebirth is presented as a Special Feature in both English and Japanese. These Blu-Rays have the same content as the Geneon/Universal DVD Release from 2012, but includes the special features from the Transformers 2010 Pioneer DVDs. So this is about as complete as you can get from a DVD to Blu-Ray Conversion. I just wish it would have had the 9 Clip Shows from FSRL and the 2 from 2010, but I believe those have been lost.
I would love for them to do Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Beast Wars, Beast Wars Metals, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo and Beast Wars Return on Blu-Ray.

Oh
Murasame
The first four seasons?
GizmoTron
Only certain episodes it seems.
kary
They already have it on DVD. I think you mean, Bluray?
kary
Just two episodes from FSRL and the 3 Rebirth eps.
Murasame
Me too
Murasame
Did I get that right, there's english audio on the bluray?

I would REALLY like to see them put the Japanese Beast Wars series on DVD!

Thats true they shifted the disk to the headmasters reissue set without the trade trailer which makes more sense since its contents have more to do with headmasters than 2010 anyway. Looking at the bluray contents you posted it looks like they put it back so who knows what they are thinking.

The Wire?
Thats one of my favorite series of all time ! That show is gangsta ! The way Avon and Stringer set each other up was crazy. And Omar was a true thug no matter what he was behind closed doors.
I never heard of the Shield though….

Walrus, welcome back brother! Thank you for the correction. For me this set is worth it since I don't own the original releases on DVD. I'm with you on the transfer, it shows the age of the masters. The problem with FSRL vs US G1 is the opening/closing credits were lengthened by almost a minute which cut some of the actual show footage. So to use the Shout masters, a lot of editing would have to happen (wish they would thought!). The original Transformers 2010 had 6 DVDs with the special features (from Pioneer), but the new Geneon Version only had 5 Discs omitting The Rebirth, Trailer and commercials.

I wish they made a new master of the footage rather than using the same old ancient masters made for the laserdisks even if they redid the series with shouts videos masters as a base it might be worth the replacement but at the moment ill stick with the dvd sets saying that 1 tiny bluray box would take up alot less space than 15 dvds and it has a nice cover……no must resist.
Not sure why there hasnt been a new Japanese DVD/BD of the movie but i did notice that the trade trailer for it that originally was on the 2010 dvd set was deleted from the special features on the most recent reissue.
It was on the laserdisc set of 2010 but not the dvd. The special features disk on the original 2010 had the rebirth, the trade trailer and some toy ads.

HBO released "The Wire" on BD and Fox will be doing the same for "the Shield".
As amazing as those shows are (if you have never watched them, I do envy you) I have a hard time believing they are more popular or would sell more than the original G1 TF Series. Someone needs to make this happen.

I’ll pass to watch movie tv show without English audio or English subtitles not worth it if I don’t speak and only understand some words they say in Japanese I may as well watch movie RENDEL now without English subtitles whole RENDEL movie is in Russian I understand three words in Russian it’s nice set good for those when it and buy it but I’ll pass no subtitles no buy

I wonder if it'd be legal for them to Patreon? They're not selling merch or the vids and subs themselves, just kickstarting for the dubs themselves so I'm curious if that'd be okay.
jamarmiller
yeah , I watched those malay/singapoor dubs too and always thought that this series could NEVER make it in the USA and then I saw what these guys did with Ep 7 and 8 and I am just blown away by it. The ep is now exciting ! and feels like the continuation that we never got.
from what I understand they all do it for free and due to that and the time it takes to get everything done it takes a long time for an ep to come out , like one ep every two years.
Its too bad because I would happily donate some money if it meant getting them out faster
Shepard Prime
They don't, unfortunately. Wish there was an audio translator out there similar to Google translate but with audio, not text.
