Variety.com site has shared an exclusive article regarding that China investors are not happy with Paramount’s results with their recent movies, including “The Last Knight”.
“Executives from Viacom will travel to China next week to meet with their counterparts at Huahua and to try to reassure them that things will improve in coming months, a source close to Huahua tells Variety. The Chinese company is particularly disappointed with the reception of “Baywatch,”“Ghost in the Shell,” and “Transformers: The Last Knight,” and believes that Paramount’s creative team has not done a good job of making films that will play to international audiences”.
This could be just a smart move to calm down investors and find solutions for next projects. Paramount had high expectations for China’s public and bussiness.

True. I never said I defended these films but they have elements that make them passable
But, it's better to have coherent plot than full blown action.
And my comment on Dotm was a personal one. It was boring at some parts but really good in others. I myself have always been mixed towards it.
Night Flame
DOTM was a leap forward? It ended my fascination with the films and pretty much ended my involvement with Transformers at all for several years. It was draining watching it.
In the end, Michael Bay directs and edits films with a checklist in mind.
1. Meet budget.
2. Meet required time.
3. Meet deadline.
4. Fit in as much flash bang as possible.
Notice how coherent plot, good characterization and paying attention to the story and theme aren't anywhere on that list? There's the problem.
And unfortunately he was successful with that formula for long enough that other directors started following the same directives. And Paramount LOVES those directors because they follow the formula. Until they take the risky move of hiring a director that's really good with story (which they've done with the Bumblebee film) AND . . . and this is the important part. . . stay the HELL out of his way and let him do the damn job, they won't put out a truly good film.

coz lack of hot babes? lol … movie 1 – 4 has hot female lead….but 5?? hmmm underage kid served as background purpose and annoying old British hag … and they never explain how aoe galvatron reformatted into new body in tlk, to most it is quite confusing, less exotic cars, even lesser bots screentime…thus creating poor words of mouth prevents potential movie-goer to buy tickets for this movie…myself included so yeah…but i still support the last knight by buying some of their toys…..

True, while I personally enjoyed ROTF (And still do to this day) The problems did start with it. It seems to me that the success went both up and down.
Dotm was recived far better critically than Rotf but still retained Rotf's issues.
Aoe again, while flawed and a bit long and kinda boring took it in the right direction interms of dark storytelling.
Tlk. well, it seems that theywere so excited and confident in themselves that they somehow made a film less coherent than any film I ever seen (Keep in mind I actually somehow understood what was going on)
Long story short, If I was in charge of these movies, I wouldn't rush everyone to meet a certain deadline, make the film both a spectacle but also one that can be understood.
Livingdeaddan
This began with ROTF, they realised they could ham a movie together with a few flashy effects, and make a billion!

I enjoyed all 5 movies but damn, Paramount needs to get their Shit together. They know they can produce films that are good, they have in the past but Seriously, as much as I enjoyed TLK, They seriously dropped the ball with it. Also, that last minute editing bay did before the china premiere in my mind was a rookie mistake in filmaking.

Ooo boy………I mean damn……
What else is there to say?!
How in the living HELL did they screw this up?!
ROTF, Not too bad but entertaining
DOTM, A serious leap forward in terms of quality and storytelling
AOE, It was alright
But TLK?! Oh boy……….How did they screw this up.

If it's China, more like heads will roll literally….

uh oh the chinese are not happy…someone is getting fired for this shit….

Those execs will probably be sent back to Hasbro with just their heads in baskets.
And no one could blame them.
………….Then again if you've investing millions in Paramount these days then you're an idiot.
Ultrawave
Star Trek Beyond was just as good as the first Star Trek, it only performed badly because Into Darkness left a bad taste for some reason. Into Darkness is enjoyable if you ignore its attempt at being a shaken up Wrath of Khan, because it does some interesting things too. The Vengeance class, corrupt Starfleet officials, things we don't get to really see a ton of, and as a response to the Narada and the destruction of an entire PLANET, the Vengeance makes absolute sense, but the KHAAAAAAN and the obvious attempts to be a loose retelling of Wrath of Khan is what hampers the film.
Discovery I'm not at all excited for yet.
Appleseed
If me are one of the investor i also not happy, Transformers 5 and Ghost in the Shell actually have very high potential to makes a lot of money, but turn out very bored movies with really short action sequences. It's both should have spectacular and intense action sequences, which audience were hoping to watch in big screen, Studio and Directors should learned a lessons from this!
Astrotrain52
Ah turning this into a race issue, are we?

China still loves the Fast and the Furious movies. The last one was Hollywood’s highest-grossing film in China.

The problem for Paramount is their attitude toward all their problems seemed to be don't worry a Transformers movie is coming.
Ben Hur crashed and burned hard, instead of we should learn something from that mistake don't worry a Transformers movie is coming next year. Monster Trucks bombed hard but hey a transforming truck is coming. Ghost in the Shell did poorly at the box office and instead of hey we need to learn something don't worry a Transformers movie is coming. Baywatch did a belly flop off the high board but hey don't worry a Transformers movie is coming.
With The Last Knight doing so poorly the response seems to be don't worry a Bumblebee movie is coming. You aren't seeing heads rolling, reboots, or even an indication that Paramount is learning anything from the lack of appeal their movies are having.
normtrooper
Sorry guys I was being sarcastic, the stream didn't exist I thought it was obvious I was mocking the issues with the film, hahaha my bad! Sorry
normtrooper
I was joking, that's why I had the winky face thingy lol
