Flame Toys on Twitter has tweeted out some images teasing one of their next upcoming projects. With their first project, Drift, nearing completion, Flame Toys has announced a new model kit series on their Twitter page. Not much information is provided such as far as release date or price, but we do know that their first entry in this series will be Optimus Prime. This piece looks to be unique and not based off of any previous iteration of Optimus Prime. Flame Toys has tweeted out a prototype image as well as an illustration of the model kit by Akira Amemiya.
Check out the images after the jump!
Razzy
Optimus Prime's iconic pelvic thrust cannon shaped like space battleship Yamato.
Also, I like this design. If the price is right, I might ge-bwahahaha, it's 3p,of course it'll get 10x what it should.

SPLIT LIP
It looks like it opens up for something.
I find kinship in this toy all of a sudden.

Ya bro it's a bit un'sightly. So this the same company doing Drift, but is it the same people? It's possible they will rework it OR, I would imagine sometimes they fake stuff or reveal older prototypes so no one will copy their work. Think of it this way, this is a model kit, yes? Say they have a better design, but don't want the KO companies making a full action figure of it til they at least sell their first production runs to the retailers/distributors. So they show off a older more unrefined prototype/or faux parts to avoid copies. I'm just guessing here obviously, but it would make sense. As I just posted in another thread, KO companies are faster, better, and cheaper then the last person they ate KOing at almost every turn now. This is licensed so it costs more money to produce. Maybe they don't want a action figure/transforming figure built of it. I'm just hoping that they can't make something that UGLY at the same time they make something that beautiful (Drift)!
Edit: actually if uou look at the rest of the design it's pretty solid and incentive/intuitive. I doubt my words are facts but there could be some truth to it.

This kills it for me:

It looks like he's wearing a speedo.
xronhide
that's no wonder, because it's designed by Akira Amemiya, gurenn lagan animator.
I like the fresh look of this optimus, depending on price, maybe I will try to get this.

Now that I look at it more (specifically the lineart), he looks more like Masami Obari's style.

I figured it was the damn modern age of touch pad typing autocorrect bullshit. I have a phone that will change every word every damn time and THEN after I'm done correctly writing everything and proof reading I press send it rearranges it some more!! Its absolutely asinine so I knkw what your dealing with! The worst is when it's important message and the "u"s become "i"s so you look like your blaming someone & that someone won't understand that's what happened even if you tell them.
Yea so to reiterate, I completely understand what your going through with "autocorrect"
OriginalFire
Did anybody buy the Ori Toy Prime, I was just thinking that I don't think many people did, so perhaps this wasn't such a good idea
Furnace
Hey, you read my mind!

Saying "Gundam influenced all of japanese mech design" is like saying "seinfeld influenced the modern sitcom" so whining about it is useless
And there's no "outer flap hanging down off the top of the shoulder armor". If you looked at G1 Optimus' toy, you'd see he has a flap on his shoulder that points to the back. That's what this is.
Electro Rush
Oooh I like.
I hope that I like the price as well, but I'm not holding my breath here.
MegaDolrailer
People who think this looks like a Gundam aren't versed in japanese mech design, so anything really japanese looks like Gundam to them.
Case closed.
Onslaught Phase 2
Very anime-mecha proportioned. It seemed like a sleek version of fire convoy, mostly in the line art. Looks great!
Shizuka
I know it's gunpla but my autocorrect doesn't.
Fort Max
Very anime, like a Gurren Lagann design.
Can't say I'm keen, especially as it's yet another non transforming prime figure.
Yup, Skull Prime is not for me.
Blitz.
I remember years and years ago when the Revoltech line first announced it was getting a prime we had a prototype of a really cool Energon prime before they canned it. This is the same style (but clearly new design) I wonder if it's the same designer or this guy took notes on them.
chest also reminds me of a pre-earth Armada prime

Most notably, the forearms, wrist cover, "inner/outer split bicep", that outer flap hanging down off the top of the shoulder armor–the arms are the most Gundam-y of all, if you want specifics.
OriginalFire
Its kinda funny how multiple people have written that these guys are ripping off Gundum stuff and low and behold they are now making a model kit, which I'll be getting, if its cool and the price is right. I wish drive was like just between 150-180, then it would be a better pill to swallow
