It’s with sadness that we have to share the passing of Chester Bennington. Chester was famous for being the lead singer of the extremely popular band, Linkin Park. Sadly, Chester Bennington took his own life and was found this morning in his home near Los Angeles. He was 41 years old and is survived by his six children. Our thoughts are with his friends, band mates and children this evening.
Linkin Park was featured on the first three soundtracks of the Transformers live action film franchise. They contributed their songs “What I’ve Done” to the first film, “New Divide” to Revenge of the Fallen and “Iridescent” to Dark of the Moon. These songs were all singles from the films and were played in heavy rotation on radio. The songs themselves, as well as the band, are synonymous with the live action Transformers movie. They even had an exclusive redeco of Generation 1 Soundwave which was limited to 2,000 pieces and available at comic shops in 2013.

I love the old sci-fi shows from the 70's and 80's. Hell, I grew up on them. When I tell sci-fi fans that, IMO, the best ever sci-fi show was Space 1999 they all give me a sideways look (especially the youngins')….

Seriously, any day now we will hear about the remake. Twenty years ago people would laugh if they knew of how many sequels, redos, remakes, and, rehashes American TV and movies consist of today.

I did see the Planet of the Apes TV show. It’s one of my mom’s favorites from her childhood, so I got to see it too when I became a fan of the movies. It’s better than people give it credit for.

I bought the entire series on YT for about 10 or 20 dollars or something. It started out a bit cheesy but after the 2nd or 3rd episode they found their stride and it actually turned out quite good. The series premiered as a two hour "movie" that got pretty high ratings and then, like many other sci-fi shows of the era (BSG, V, etc…) the ratings slid, and slid, and slid some more.
Regardless, it was quite underrated. Another good sci-fi series from that time ? Planet of the Apes. Was NOT cheesy and actually pretty dark and sad in a lot of ways.

I didn’t know there was a TV show based on that too. I’ll have to look into that.

A shame, she was good in the short lived "Logans Run" TV series back in the late 70's.
Joins her deceased husband up above….

Wow, that's sad about her and August Ames… RIP. A friend told me about it just a few days ago.
I think I met them both several years ago at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. Some friends and I attended the convention back in 2010 to meet our *ahem* favorite performers. All the girls we met were really nice people IRL.

damn, and Frank Welker was her colleague on Scooby-Doo, since Frank Welker is also Fred Jones from Scooby-Doo, I really hope Frank Welker makes a few convention appearences next year in 2018, stupid me decided to be patient thinking he would eventually make his way over to California for a Con, which sadly he hasn't done yet, meanwhile it seems most people on the forums here who have met Frank Welker, flew out of state without hesitation to meet him.

So that’s 3 of the original Mystery Inc. VAs gone. We just have Welker and whoever voiced Velma left.
