TFNation have announced that this year’s convention will have an exclusive, 60 page graphic novel. Titled Transformers Animated: Trial and Error, this graphic novel will present a possible conclusion to the much-loved show, drawing on official story hooks from the unmade fourth season from the creators themselves! Featuring a script by TFWiki’s Chris McFeely and the Allspark Almanac’s Jim Sorenson, the project boasts art by Ed Pirrie, Herzspalter, and Gavin Spence, lettering by Andrew Turnbull, and cover artwork by Josh Perez – Josh is also responsible for the original character designs featured in the story!
TFNation 2017 will be taking place over the weekend of August 11 – 13, 2017, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole in Birmingham in the UK. Guests will include voice actors Venus Terzo (Beast Wars Blackarachnia), Hal Rayle (Generation 1 Snarl and Shrapnel) and Maggie Roswell (Maude Flanders), and Mark Ryan (Movie Bumblebee, Jetfire, Bulldog, and Lockdown), artists Geoff Senior, Stephen Baskerville, Alex Milne, Jack Lawrence, Kei Zama, and Sara Pitre-Durocher, colourists Josh Perez and John-Paul Bove, writer & artist Nick Roche, fan-favourite writer James Roberts, and last but by no means least, Transformers creators and writers Bob Budiansky and Simon Furman. Check out the TFNation homepage for more information.

"suddenly"

To be fair, this had some pretty big names put time into it, including major community figures and people who had previously done officially licensed work, so really it's borderline inexcusable.
The Mad Demobot
It being free and unofficial should NOT BAR IT FROM CRITICISM. I wrote a bloody video game fanfic for school then posted it online under the notion that the plot and characters have coherence from a grading and writing perspective and makes sense in its universe. This thing breaks all sorts of rules, intrigue, and consistency for the sake of it being ready out the door by fans for fans expecting more of the same from fans of Animated. This comic breaks Optimus Prime's progression of the show to make him young and dumb again, Sentinel looking more like a traitor then some arrogant fool who wanted the power, Sari suddenly being the key to everyone's problems aka a Mary Sue, the art getting worse and worse with no quality control, and in one panel essentially took the piss out of IDW'S spin of a popular character.
So with all due respect, this comic sucks, but really people should not have had their expectations this high for what is essentially a free comic book day issue that's from a fan convention.
"Keep you expectations low, and you'll never be disappointed."
Fenrys
yea, sentinel is just an over confident, narcissistic a-hole that thinks he's better than everyone else
Boatformer
Yeah, like. Sentinel isn't a traitor, but he doesn't see it that way – he sees it as him being super smart and snaring the Decepticons in a clever trap!
(Jim has stated that he was very firm that Sentinel had nothing to do with Cyclonus going after Ultra Magnus – he wasn't fond of the old man but he's still not going to orchestrate his murder.)
Haywired
I liked it.
Yes, it's a fanfiction. It shows.
Yes, Adobe Illustrator isn't the best app if you want to emulate a feel of an animated show with static painted scene backgrounds.
It still is lots of unpaid work and love put into this book.
samisham
Honestly yes, I haven't watched any animated in about three years. But if anything that should better inform his opinion to just tell Strika to get bent.
Fenrys
Have you forgotten about when he hired lockdown?
Feralstorm
I think it's less about whether he expected the 'cons to keep their word or not, and more about him being overconfident about his plans to stab THEM in the back.
samisham
Was Sentinel always this dumb? Why would he ever think Strika wouldn't stab him in the back?
Arginus Prime
Criticizing the quality is one thing. I myself as a big TFA fan would have liked more quality out of it. Comparing it to food poisoning is too much.
Blam320
That also isn’t a reason for us to not be able to criticize the quality.
Arginus Prime
I think the food poisoning part comparison is harsh. Nobody said this is an official TFA work and nobody asked anyone to accept it as such. This was a labor of love by fans like us and the revenue from the physical comics sold all went to charity. In my books that kind of act has to be supported rather than bashed.
NanakoPreame
The "it free so you can't complain about" excuse. If someone gave you free food and you got food poisoning from it, you wouldn't complain?
octobotimus
I mean the homeless can't complain, after all, the ground is free.
Blam320
That doesn’t make it not a poorly-conceived and worse executed fanfiction, however well-intentioned it was. When we say we want Season 4 material we mean we want actual, official content with some involvement from the original writers and artists.
pokemonsdoom
Neat. I now wish for more official stuff. not fan made plots
Blackarachnia1996
It’s free from two years ago for an unofficial convention…
Master Farr
It’s poorly done
