Digital Spy is reporting an interview by actor Mark Wahlberg where he spoke about his role in the Transformers Live Action Movie Franchise. Speaking during The Graham Norton Show, the actor stated that Transformers: The Last Knight is his last Transformers movie.
“It’s the last one so I get my life back!”
Wahlberg also told in his interview on Friday that he spent “five months” getting in prime physical condition for The Last Knight, only to be saddled with a haircut that he absolutely hated.
“The long hair is the worst thing ever,” he joked. “I look like my mum in the ’70s – it’s just really bad!”

Huh?

I went to watch the movie yesterday because I had a free IMAX 3D ticket. And yeah, it's a disaster. I thought the IMAX 3D tech would be the highlight, but nah, not sure what's new or special with this one.
Humans beings just need to go, like REALLY. In fact at the end, I was cheering (silently) for the bad guys. But then again the Autobot banter was so irritating, so yeah EVERYTHING needs to go.
Lazerwave
I think they should just end it here.
I was in the car listen to the radio about an advertisement of The Last Knight and they said, "The Final Chapter".
Niv3k
If true his character arc didn't end on a high note.

I would want a new director, but I wouldn't want to reboot the movie universe the same way there has been three different Spider-Man movie continuities. The new director should just continue the story his own way without pretending to be the same as Michael Bay.
Is it politically correct to assume that a hypothetical new director will be male?
JoeHavok
Maybe HASBRO realizes they need to reboot the franchise? And that's why Mark is out. Come on, 5 movies in this universe is enough, let's get a reboot done right with a brand new director.
Robogeek28
So we're not gonna hear him say he's an inventor anymore?
Now I'm sad……
Incepticon
Guess he negotiated his way out of a third movie. He said during all the press for AOE that he signed on for three (he also called it a new trilogy), but must have decided to bail on it if Bay really is leaving the director's chair.
deathzero23
Too much air time if the lead character is always on the wheel chair.
No offense to the G1 purists & PWDs.
harrismonkey
Why no wheelchair?

Please, please, please tell me Bay did his directorly duties and managed to get Whalberg to sing (or somehow reference) the Touch somewhere in TLK (since unlike Bay he actually probably won't come back). Or at least Bumblebee has to croon it too him somewhere in the movie.
It's an absolute crime not to tie this all together…
deathzero23
If that's what mark wants then it's fine. But he can come back.
Mark we know he's been working before with Bay. Pain & Gain right?
Bay announced this is his last, So no wonder Mark will just do the same.
But the Cade character FOR ME, is better than a Sam Witwicky.
Cade is a father/struggling inventor that can kick ass.
Problem with the Sam Witwicky from the 1st 3 films, it's just he didn't evolve.
It was an effective character for the 1st film. But come ROTF and DOTM he's still the same SCREAMING guy having Chick-related Problems.
A WASTED OPPORTUNITY.
Cade can have vacation away from the Cybertronian Conflict for a while.
But we still have some TF canon male characters that can still be used as new lead actor.
They can introduce the following for the next films:
1.) A guy named SPIKE but not a Witwicky.
2.) We can try a CHIP CHASE a guy who have a brains but please not on a wheel chair. Either as a lead or a supporting character.
3.) What about RAOUL? A common street guy trying survive & became friends with the Autobots. He short circuited Megatron up close in "Make Tracks" right? So he can kick ass.
Mako Crab
But if there's no civilians, then the Autobots couldn't all be sweet civilian cars.

As thin-skinned as a majority of the Transformers fanbase is, you really want one of your favorite franchises to be mocked and ridiculed more than it already is and essentially give them ammo to throw more stones?
Because keep in mind while they'll probably grill all the Bay-isms, they're not going to limit the movie to that and make fun of the entire franchise. I love Lego Batman (and the Lego movie for that matter) and as a huge Batman fan, I still liked the humor. But with Transformers, that can go south really fast.
divinecomedy
They should do Lego Transformers in the spirit of the Lego movie i.e. they should ridicule the Bay movies. The movie would just write itself.
deliciouspeter
Great. Say hi to your mother for me.
jackgaughan
Mmmmmm, yes please.

As it is, I thought we were creeping back into RotF territory in AoE with TJ Miller's character and was annoying the heck out of me and I thought,"Man, we're going to be stuck with this character for the whole movie?" So of course when he bit the big one (pretty badly I might add) I was conflicted.
On the one hand, "Yay! He's gone." On the other, "Man that really sucked for him." Especially since I wasn't expecting that death.
Purple Heart
Fuck I would take that too.
Galvatross
Trust me, I get you there. I just want useful civilians and not just civilians who have mcguffins.
