Another Transformers: The Last Knight TV Spot has surfaced and it is titled as “Final Chapter“. While everyone is currently puzzled with the odd name, the spot does contain new scenes from the movie.
I'm hoping for a reboot now tbh. A lot of characters weren't really explored and they were just chucked in for the fun of it.
I would like to see the characters actually live very long. I mean, Go figure Optimus and Bumblebee, the two favourites, always come back to life or never die.
Arcee was hated by Bay. With him gone, she could be used better. Making Wheeljack Que was really stupid. I would rather Wheeljack be explored more and used more.
More interesting stories, not just "The World's gonna end we must save it and kill every Decepticon just for them to magically come back".
I feel the same way! I've enjoyed and loved all the movies, even ROTF, even though it ranks last on my list I'm so HYPED for this movie!
I too have enjoyed the movies. The first three more so and the 4th it was only so-so. I'll still watch at least once but a good movie deserves at least a second watching. AOE sadly was a one watch effort.
Lololol, you know you're smug when you call the last movie you're directing yourself "the Final Chapter"…. #BAY.
Man, everyone's saying it, and I completely agree that if this flops or under performs (which sadly it won't… ugh), they absolutely need to shift to the current, popular MCU/DCEU model. Say what you will about the minutia/details of either Cinematic Universe, but the core principle is the same–a dogmatic and very focused attempt to honor and bring to life the core source material, while modernizing it ever so slightly to make it workable in live action parameters.
The problem with Bayverse from day 1 has been that there is almost no source material at all, and that the robots (save for the main 3, I know, I know… ugh) aren't even recognizable. No Ark, no coming to Earth with the goal of getting energy for their planet, no befriending of down-to-earth/easily understandable construction workers, no logical reason for gaining Earth alternate modes (i.e. being repared by Teletraan after being damaged in the crash), I could go on and on…
The point for me is not whether or not the movies are watchable or whether or not they have their own fanbase, and their own standout characters, the point for me is that from the beginning they have had nothing to do with Transformers, ever since Bay came out in 2006 and announced that he would basically "do his own shit, no blocky robots…"
So anyway, if this is the "Final Chapter" in a surprise twist (which would mean they've just trolled us up until now…) then I would be super ready for a film series that finally brings to life the Transformers I know…
Yes, because a rehash of shit that 30 year old neckbeards have seen countless times is exactly what we need.
The way to alienate the franchise is to cater to a specific part of it. This "if it's not the way I want it so therefore it's not REAL Transformers" is just outright bullshit.
The franchise is more than just G1. It's more than rehashed shit. It's 30 fucking years of different people who joined the franchise at different points during that time frame. Your G1 isn't someone else's G1.
And the entire "tenure" thing is bullshit too. "Well it's the first, so it deserves to have it on the big screen." Fuck that. That just makes the supposed adults that grew up with this franchise come across as spoiled, demanding children.
Lastly, if "everyone's saying it" then clearly it's not everyone because you already expect it to not flop. Hyperbole much?
Strange thing about me, I've sat through all the TF movies and I'm able to gloss over all the gripes and hiccups of them all and just enjoy the movies.
Does anyone else have that kind of…thing?

The first one (2007) is my favorite film of all time so…. yeah, I'd have to agree with you there.

You remind me of those middle aged Christian moms on Facebook who randomly emphasis stuff like this and use a lot of emojis and random #hastags. If you don't like the movies because MUH GEEWAN then please don't clog the boards with this we have enough trolls and this makes me feel like I'm having a stroke.
Looks like you're having trouble counting, because 1 emoji = a lot? cool, man.
I guess you can't read, but this thread's discussion was moving toward the topic of rebooting, so that's what I'm addressing. Maybe you can start a Michael Bay worship thread, and hang out there instead??
Also "clog the boards"??? because board space is at a premium these days?? do you even know what a forum is??

The best reason to reboot the movies is that, other than Megatron, all the best Decepticons in Bayformers are dead. Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Lazerbeak, Devastator. And there's tons of potential for them to be better utilized.
Either way, it would be great if future movies would establish some Decepticons that matter.Give them some personality and relevance to the plot (Like Blackout blowing up the military base) instead of setting up yet another"obligatory main villain who's more important than Megatron".
On that note, give some emphasis to characters other than Bumblebee and Optimus for a change.
Yea, but if Hasbro is going to do and expanded Transformers cinematic universe, they are really going to have to step up their game. we can't have this dumbed down dribble that the Bayformers have been. In order for this work they need to start doing Marvel movie quality work, and some damn good TF movies. Barely qualifies is no longer going to be good enough.
The Transformers Universe could use some planning ahead. The MCU has an end goal that it's trying to reach and it gives the franchise some semblance of a direction and a purpose. So far Transformers hasn't got anything like that. While reinventing the past is interesting and may lead to some fun installments, it keeps the universe in the past, constantly retconning its history. A franchise needs to move forward. I think that it would serve the universe well if it started to invest into future villains and not past threats.

Maybe the upcoming movies take place in a rebooted universe? Or there might be an X-Men Days of Future Past semi-reboot?
Or, more likely, this just means nothing like it did when DoTM came out.

You know, it's utterly funny on how DOTM's tagline claimed to be 'Earth's Last Stand', but noooooo… it had to continue with AOE, yeeeeeessss!

"Final" my a$$…
How many movies spawned for "The FINAL Destination"? lolz!
