Following up to the previous news post regarding her possible involvement with the Transformers Franchise, it seems as though Hailee Steinfeld is confirmed for her upcoming role on Transformers Cinematic Universe spin-off movie Bumblebee.
Speaking to News Australia the actress stated:
“I am so excited to know that is the next movie I am working on. Obviously I’m coming to Australia and when I come back, we start shooting.”
While most details are being kept quiet, Hollywood Reporter has claimed that the role will be a tomboy who works as a mechanic after school.
The Bumblebee Movie is set to be directed by the acclaimed stop motion animation director Travis Knight.

I'm actually disappointed that the BB movie is going to be (at least in part?) Earth-based, and with humans again…
I was looking forward to a movie taking place on Cybertron, no humans involved..I would have LOVED a plot focussed on the Transformers society and history

I think I just read somewhere that she's confirmed to be a MECHANIC for this movie.
Congrats dude, you totally called it.

I would love the villain to be shockwave, he was so fearsome in the original comics,..whoo ,getting chills just thinking about it
Prime Noble
Sorry I phrased that badly. My point was that they have these well known, well respected actors but the films are still lacking.
Bobby Bolivia
yeah but these guys were secondary characters that only appear for a few minutes, we're talking about main lead role. Pretty sure whalberg and Shia werent too excited about the storyline and their character compared to Hailee. So I think its a good start.
Deadend
So you've already seen the Last Knight? That's the first one Hopkins has been in.
Prime Noble
Maybe she has proven herself
but so have Frances McDormand, Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich and none of the sequels were great. That's not a reflection on any of them just Michael Bay.
I'm hoping the different director can finally give us hope.
Deadend
Different director. I don't think you should expect any fan service at all. The films aren't about that. The first movie was different in that regard because the POV was from Sam's perspective as a horny lonely teenager trying to get his first car to impress girls.
This is why 3 & 4 have no fan service. He matured out of it, and 4 was a different kind of POV.
5 looks like it has no fan service either, nor should it. The story is from a different POV too.
If she's the POV for the movie, then no straight male gaze fanservice. Though there might be stuff that'd interest women more in that regard.
Prime Noble
What's wrong with that?

People should know that Hailee chooses her movies wisely, she has proven herself to be a wonderful and terrific actress. I believe she was nominated for an Oscar for her first film debut. If she says the storyline is great (bcs she read it) then I\'ll be looking forward to it
j.a.f.o.
That is badass.
Here's another (half-joking) suggestion:
mondo
Maybe something like this for Bee
figsdad
But yet i bet he still talk through that radio…
Smashs
I'm happy with this. She can actually act.
mondo
Maybe something like this for Barricade
mondo
I would think Barricade is going to be the main villain, if not the 2nd with the most scene time. I would like to see Barricade as a 80's Mustang police car and BB as a 80's Camaro. If they are not planning a BB sequel, he will get his '76 at the end of the movie.
eagc7
Maybe she did loved the script?, then again even if the script is terrible she cant say anything negative of the film right now
Prime Noble
A Decepticon doing some shady stuff…
As for non mechanic/scientist ladies in the movies how about Sam's mother, Alice and Frances McDormand's character. Oh and the Australian computer expert in the first movie.
AAANND Li Bingbing.
Incepticon
Heh, OF COURSE she negotiated also being able to carry over her terrible tween "music" to this. Probably the only reason she signed up for it – just wants another 2 hour promo for her popstar wannabe aspirations to go along with the Pitch Perfect's and Edge of Seventeen commercials. Yeesh.

Lol!
Can't wait for 2018!
