Speaking to the press, Boulder Media Studio has confirmed working on two new Transformers cartoons.
While the title of one show remains unnamed, the second show is titled as Rescue Bots Academy. Along with the two new Transformers shows, the studio will also develop a new Littelest Pet Shop series and a series based on Micronauts for Hasbro Studios.
“The studio behind TV animation shows for the likes of Disney, Nickelodeon and BBC is moving up a gear. They’ve announced this morning that they’re constantly on the look-out for new talented staff and plan to open a second studio space in Dublin.
The Studio, whose current slate includes animation for ‘Transformers’, ‘Little Pet Shop’ and ‘Rescue Bots Academy’ and ‘Micronauts’ for Hasbro Studios, as well as ‘Danger Mouse’ and ‘Dorothy and the Wonders of Oz’ (Warner Brothers), is ramping up to deliver innovative animation and storytelling across multiple formats and genres.”
Rescue Bots Academy is clearly sounding as though it is the spiritual successor to the original Transformers: Rescue Bots; loved by young fans across the globe. The show’s title is also the title of Episode 71 of RB.
We are yet to find out about the other Transformers Animated Series which could very well be a replacement show for slightly older kids. Transformers: Robots In Disguise currently caters to that specific segment.
This news was in development for quite a while and TFW2005 was quick to pick up on the info which trickled on. The first official announcement came around March and it was not too long ago that we found out that several job openings were available at the studio to work on a Transformers Franchise related project.
There were many speculations based on the news but now we know.. and knowing is half the battle!

It's a renaming but I'm counting this as simply more rescue bots.
Also looking forward to the new unnamed series. RiD didn't do much for me (loved Strongarm, but I lost interest in the plot pretty quick), so here's hoping this new take is one that connects.
Burnout00012
Yeah, I've got no interest in those. I've heard nothing but bad things about Combiner Wars.
Hollywood Hoist
Whether you like the show or not, that's what the Combiner Wars and upcoming Titans Returns shows are aiming for.

I'm praying that the Rescue Bots sequel is just the online choose your own advenutre we've heard about, cause don't make a Rescue Bots sequel if you aren't going to have the cast back, (unless it's Blurr, Salvage and new characters then nevermind get their VA's back).
Windsweeper II
I was the rude one But people were and still are.
Burnout00012
The kids have rescue bots. Let's have a show for the older fans too.
Mr JackatooTM
Because cartoons mainly attract kids so they kinda have to be kid friendly..
Mr JackatooTM
Uh not to be rude but….nobody was talking about Prime or Animated..?
Burnout00012
An I the only one tired of the super kid friendly transformers cartoons? I wish we could get a transformers show with more robot violence, like TFP had. That was good stuff.
Windsweeper II
Hopefully the new show will be smart, funny, entertaining, brave and creative. Everything Prime and Animated never were.
Thundershot
Well, if there is, he won't have the same voice…. Nor will the others from the sound of it.
Mr JackatooTM
So..no Chase..?

Nocturne
Oh, I am totally up for some more Rescue Bot cuteness.
LegoTFGuy
Probably not, but there's always the possibility of getting Beast Wars characters in a new show.
SilverOptimus
Yep. There is no way a production company would do that.
Niv3k
Rescue Bots still going strong I see. I'm curious on what the other show turns out to be.

They aren't going to put G1 audio over new animation, stop saying that, it's fucking stupid, that isn't how cartoons work!
NOCV
Here's hoping for something smart, well done and with consequences like TF Prime.
Rescue Bots and RID are fun kids shows, but there's tons of Transformers fans that are older than 12. I'd love if they continued the continuity and gave us something more mature for the older fans. Hell, follow Marvel's lead and show it through Netflix.
I can't see a G1 redux that isn't targeted towards older fans, unless they're putting modern animation to G1's audio.
In reality, I'll bet the unnamed one is a replacement for RID. It's in that 3rd/4th season kiss of death territory that seems to mark the end of TF series.
Hollywood Hoist
More Rescue Bots is awesome.
I hope with the new series replacing RiD they keep a similar tone and not go dark like they did with Prime.
