Weird to see how people feel about the current story arc.

i can't agree with that. i dont' mind the art it's nice and i wouldn't mind seeing more from the artist…of course milne is better by a mile but it's not the art..it's purely the story for me that stinks. it's boring and i'm struggling to care. honestly i'd rather be reading what the mutineers are up to but if this opening arc is anything to go by something tells me i'd be bored of that too.
which is a shame…i mean this is probably the first time in the whole run i've been bored with a story. i didn't like swearth or the personality tics but one or two issues broken up with good stuff i can deal with. this is going on 6 issues in a row of shit i don't care about. this SHOULD be interesting but somehow roberts has made it the exact opposite. maybe this is what happens when he makes a story revolve around two of his original characters….something else that's been a bit of a revelation to me is how much i don't like his original characters. especially his more recent ones like nickel and now anode. rung is okay as is the guy on the scavengers with the chin (i don't remember his name and can't be bothered to look him up). i mean he suffers from roberts' quirk of making everyone talk so snarky they sound the same but he's still okay. the djd started interesting but the more we learned about them the more i couldn't wait for megatron to crush them….not because they deserved it but because they kinda sucked…i always thought nickel was cancer and anode….anode seems no better. when your original creations range from okay to cancer maybe making stories revolving around them isn't a great idea.
i saw potential in the functionist universe. maybe it was something that when touched on seemed great but when expanded on turned out to be a bad idea. by all accounts it's the later…and that's not the fault of the artist. it's all roberts…

Ditto on that first point, and it seems to me that it owes to the colors and lighting effects of Functionists Cybertron. I just re-read the "Prelude" to Elegant Chaos and the night scenes on Cybertron are still well lit despite the dystopian mood; it adds some foreboding or tension to the story. Lafuente still on Lost Light as the colorist, but the settings drawn up by Lawrence don't inform the tone of this narrative as much. It's not drawn badly though, I'm happy that it's clear at least and the lines are well-defined.
I'm gonna buy the issues of this reboot up to here, if only to complete that series of Roche covers. After this I'm actually quite hopeful about the plots to come. Maybe now that the introductory arc is done away with, the issues to follow will begin to be better. Like most others I'm especially looking forward to when we finally catch up with the Lost Light mutineers and crew.

Wow!! I'm getting the subtle impression that people don't like this arc.
I have mixed feelings about it. I actually think the pacing and plot have improved compared to Dying of the Light (which I was very underwhelmed by; first time Roberts has really missed a landing in my opinion). That said, it certainly is nowhere near the seemingly effortless heights of Season 1's storytelling, where each issue felt fast-paced yet chock-full and satisfying. The last time the book was really firing on all cylinders was the time travel arc.
And it can't be overstated how much Milne elevated the material. I think people might feel more warmly about the current arc if we were being treated to his designs and art throughout (remember how AWESOME the Functionist universe looked back in issue 35??).
I'm definitely invested in the story enough to stick with it and find out how it ends (not to mention the answers to all the intriguing little mysteries) but I don't know if it will reach its former heights again.

I wouldn't say I hated it, but I did think it went on for two or three issues longer than it should have done. Comic book story arcs should only use as many issues as it takes to tell the story. My main problem with Regeneration One was that it felt like it was dragged out much longer than it should have been with plot development barely progressing for some characters from one issue to the next.
Which I didn't actually mind because they were only one or two issues in length. I can tolerate that no problem.

Whole arc, coupled with the cartoony art, feels like some low budget sci fi tv episode. Its a train wreck to read, feel so embarrassed to be a MTMTE fan.
The story setup is so big, they enter an entire whole new universe, but the sets are so small, they interact with so little people and so little environment, using a lot of small confined settings and instant teleportations. Feels like its a small ensemble cast play or tv show entirely shot on a small studio sound stage.
Glad I don't have to buy LL.

christ does this finally mean the functionist arc is ending? i'm so bored of this arc it's so slow the pacing is awful and frankly i'm really having a hard time actually caring about what's going on here.
Driskull98
It's an absurdly generic "wotif there was an alternate universe where the bad guys won" plot moving at snail's pace introducing boring and uninteresting characters all while sidelining possibly the biggest twist since Rewind's return. It's on the same tier as Swearth and the personality ticks stories and I hope it's ending means we'll get some insight on how the mutiny is going (Seriously, the one setting nearly 80% of the comic has taken place on is literally taken from our characters and instead of following up on that, we're treated to this awful story).

Thanks dude. Looking forward to read it.

Megatron is desperate to escape this comic so he\'s gonna bust through the cover.

Dang, delayed again…
It's unsuccessfully balancing more than two character threads across six issues and two planets. IMO Roberts' pacing for Lost Light's debut arc doesn't have the finesse of MTMTE's "finale" arcs.
darkus Maximus34
alot of people hated this arc

Oh good I'm not the only one who thought the Functionist Universe was dull.

Good! Now the Saiyans can't turn into great apes, lol.

finally! this boring arc is going to end

One of the better pieces of Lawrence art, but since I have a choice of cover artists, if not interiors, Milne it is. Still, this is one I'd double up on if I were to double up at all.
Mercutio
Will we finally see his alt mode before he stays behind in the Functionist universe??
