Yes, 2017 is not even halfway done but we’re getting word of trade paperbacks hitting in 2018! There are two new titles among the collected comics arriving in February next year, which are Transformers: Optimus Prime volume 2, which looks to collect the series’ second arc along with the annual; and First Strike, which collects the upcoming Hasbro universe crossover event where the Transformers once again face off against characters from the likes of G.I. Joe and MASK.
Also coming in 2018 is the previously reported Autocracy trilogy, collecting the trio of miniseries published by IDW set in the early days of Cybertron’s past and charting the rise of both Optimus Prime and Megatron. It is due to hit in January 2018.

Except this isn't just a human. This is a supervillain who commands an army of robotic soldiers and ninjas and is in collusion (or has colluded in the past) with an arms dealer with a metal face who specializes in advanced technology, a former MI6 member and master manipulator, a World War II veteran who has spent his entire life studying alien technology, the ruler of a nation who has the capabilities to mind control Cybertronians, a mercenary who commands a group of defected Russian soldiers, Steampunk Transformers from an alternate universe, a former detective/adventurer with cybernetic limbs, a mad scientist who helped create the Atom Bomb and the polio vaccine, a high-ranking general in the US military who was able to personally reverse engineer Triple Changer technology and apply it to human-made vehicles, shapeshifting aliens wizards that can infect and take control of nearly any living thing, and the rulers of Microspace who currently control the stasis-locked body of one of the Thirteen Primes.
You might be able to do a lot with that.

The stupidity of any human forces posing any sort of threat to TFs (a race tHat has been shown to have mastered FTL travel a long time ago) was already beyond the point where I could enjoy any stories involving anything of this sort of thing. The idea of a human being able to lay siege to cybertron is outright pathetic.
Sorry, I know we're talking a franchise about transforming robots but this is on a level of ridiculousness I can't even contemplate suspending my disbelief for. A shame as though I only read TF comics i keep reading that some of the revolutionaries stuff is good but there's no way I'll be giving this one a go. anyone with even a passing knowledge of the what sort of tech levels a type 2 (edging toward type 3) civilisation would have (which TFs would be) will know how daft us presenting a threat is. Once you understand this you als see that even the reverse engineering rubbish is totally impossible when you consider the sort of gaps were on about. Think about someone from the dark ages trying to reverse engineer an f22 raptor when they don't even understand the physics behind flight or virtually ever technology involved in its construction or how to even manufacture the materials it's made from and you start to see the point. The gap between us and a type two plus civilisation is actually much bigger than that too.
Sorry rant over! As you might guess this is one of my silly big beads!!!
Megastar
That's a really cool cover.

It's collecting a bunch of one-shot tie-ins. Most event tie-in trades do end up being clusterfucks.
I like how it seems like we'll be getting issues that are effectively team-ups (one with Optimus's team and the Revolutionaries, one with Rom and the Micronauts, and one with G.I. Joe and M.A.S.K.) Each pairing makes sense and it'll be nice to get more tight-knit tie-ins than Revolution had.

This sounds like a clusterfuck.

For a second there it looked like a blu-ray cover.

Nice cover!

No, there are a bunch of books in between July and the end of the year like these:
New IDW Books on Amazon for November
and here:
Amazon.com: transformers: Books
Other than that, from my experience, what's on Amazon now would reflect everything we're getting for 2017.

So apart from the TPBs arriving in June and July we shouldn't expect anything else this year?
Haven't Autocracy arrived already?
