\"I feel sorry for you prime your legions these humans, the trouble with loyalty to a cause is that the cause? \" Will always betray you….. -Prime Who sent you here….. Where do you think you came from?

If you follow by Paramount UK's Twitter account, June 23rd remains the date for the UK.
sharpy39
Is this for the UK as well?
I can find no site which references the exact countries the release will be moved forward in.

Yes, whenever they add a qualifier they can count whatever sequence of days they want. They do that for 4-day weekends whenever there's a holiday on a Monday.
Here's an example using TF1: Transformers (2007) – Weekend Box Office Results – Box Office Mojo
It was released on a Tuesday, but you'll notice that the first weekend figures only include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Official weekend numbers only count FSS. 4- and 5-day figures are used just to make the totals sound bigger in the press.

Hmm, June's going to be a busy month. I think I'll just wait until the weekend. I'll probably have to prescreen this one. I took my then 8 year old to AoE only to have the F bomb thrown out.

I'd've sworn I've read press releases from studios or industry watchers talking about the "5-day weekend gross," or "extended weekend sales," or somesuch.
Ephland
not towards the weekend number, no.
Spiderus Prime
Well than why they move a movie date eariler ever know that Wednesday isn't a movie date plus they should stay on Friday date.
Appleseed
AOE is released on friday, others is earlier.
Appleseed
This is great, its follow back the formula of the 1st and 2nd movie, which is a good idea to push the domestic boxoffice ticket sales. Hopefully will break the all time wednesday opening which is now held by Twilight Saga with 68million.
Ikkstakk
They won't add in ticket sales from Wednesday and Thursday? Have they not always done this in the past?
John TheDestroyer
Well, I'm not gonna complain.
grindcore138
Sweet, now I can be disappointed two days earlier!
Please note: I'm mostly joking.
Stunticonfan21
Mine as well
Ephland
No, the weekend will still be considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
TyrantLizardKing
But now it\'s not on Sonic\'s birthday…
Furnace
Well, ok. This makes no difference to me since I\'m gonna end up seeing it on Saturday anyway…
Ikkstakk
Obviously done to boost the numbers for opening weekend.
