2005 Boards Gingerchris reports that the Robots In Disguise Minicon Mega Pack Found In UK. This is a 15-Minicon gift set, but with no new molds. On the other hand, the figures have some different paint apps.
This set was previously released in Asia, in European packaging even, as 2005 Boards user Nevermore let us remember.
Happy hunting for UK fans! You can check the pics after the jump and join to the discussion at the 2005 Boards.

Yeah, he is the only more or less show accurate version. Though it is odd how different the model was in the cartoon – he had 4 legs, for starters.
And Lord Doomitron (amazing name) makes an awesome fist weapon – I usually give him to TR Galvatron.

You want to take the knife to Tricerachot and remove the thin bar under the toy. That will allow the head to fold forward further and become and tripple cannon pointing forward in beast mode.

I love the weaponizers: I've got three of Dragonus (not in this set), which turns into a very legit-looking twin cannon, and Tricerashot is one of the best names ever. Some of them make really cool weapons for Generations figures. I have all of them, and will collect any variants I can find, except Lord Doomitron. I just don't get him.

These guys are so adorable .

UK (& Europe?) exclusive. One of the Universe Minicon boxsets split up. Packed with sour jelly sweets.

IIRC some of them, the green ones, have variations on the toys compared to the boxsets

Huh, never knew these blind bags existed. I saw a bunch of these in single packs but not blind bags
Pravus Prime
I got a few on clearance to use as small scale TF ships.
Tenion the Offender
I refuse to call this "Minicons". That's a Lego Duplo, but with worse quality of plastic.

Indeed. But rarely at full price (£6.99) because more often than not they just aren't worth it. I wish they were just sold in bags like the Tiny Titans without the Energon armour for £3 each or something since they're not the most expensively produced figures out there.
I mean some years back we were getting actual blind-bagged MiniCons here for £2 a pack.

Yeah, after seeing the first wave of these MiniCons, I bailed. They're too cute/chibi styled to match a classics style collection. Look more like kids toys, which is… of course, what they are.
I'd love to see a return to the original more realistic minicon style… same for targetmasters, etc. I collected all those like a nut.
I'd also add that I'd run — not walk — to the store if they put out alternate color/face headmaster sets like this. Getting those Japan alternates… white "snow" versions… black versions… Shattered Glass versions… desert camo versions… or simply new character names for different color heads. Would EAT THAT UP.
Gingerchris
Indeed. The 'Scorch Strike' one from the four pack (attached picture) is more a sandy colour. Although the one shown in this link has an even lighter hue. But that might just be due to a better lit photo.

Absolutely; why wouldn't I ?
They are cross compatible with the other toys and Minicons/Microns have been a thing for 15years or so now that is plenty of time for people to develop a collection trend for buying them.
Yes it's a shame they lack joints and are unpainted or underpainted sometimes – but they are a nice bonus accessory fiddle-former.
Besides I have quite a lot of bakugan too and they are the exact same size as them so that adds additional appeal too.
I like these guys for the same reason I like Micromasters or Arms Microns or Titanmasters – fun little collectables that are not just a self contained toy but have other layers of interaction and a degee of additional cross compatibility with past present and future toys.
I'll certainly buy this set. but I might wait a little be and see if it shows up in B&M first.

Incidentally Undertone seems to be a more orange shade instead of a tan like the other version of that mould *the one that isn't white* The extra paint really does help quite a bit on some of them.

Thanks for advice, but I already got Swelter and Back from single packs a Anvil from Battle pack with Sideswipe. Swelter looks much better from this set.
But I would like to get Hammer from that 4-pack, I think it is the only version which is red.

Has anyone worked out which the most accurate paint jobs for all the Minicons are?
BB Shockwave
If like me, you go for cartoon accuracy, don't get this – get the other UK 4-pack that has Hammer, Anvil, Undertone and Weaponizer Slipstream. I got it cheap from the UK.
BB Shockwave
Eh, I already have all but two of these, and many characters like Anvil or Undertone are not even in their correct colors here. Pass.

I had to stop because of money but I was buying them all up until Winblade, Bisk, Ratchet, etc. The last ones I got were Megatronus, Thunderhoof and Fracture, if I remember correctly. Thunderhoof and Fracture are surprisingly good, and I do like Grimlock too (though if you get Grimlock, you absolutely must fix the elbows with some styrene or something, else they will shatter over time, which is a terrible design).
For all the hate the toys got to begin with, they're quite good. They're the same price as Deluxes here, which is absolutely not worth it, but I imported all mine from Japan and they were about the price of Deluxes in New Zealand back during the Unicron Trilogy, which was FAR better. Yeah, they're overpriced in most places, but they're all pretty good toys. Except for Steeljaw. Steeljaw is a HORRIBLE toy. Almost Airachnid levels of bad. It's so sad that they still haven't made a proper Deluxe-sized Steeljaw. The one they did make is so dire.

Nice found. I have only cartoon characters so I will take only Swelter, Forth (Back) and Anvil.
Xaxis
Nice find, Mr. Chris! Congrats on the news credit too.

Any weaponizer, bar the sword types, are tons of fun but, for me, they are just too cludgy/chibi to pull off a decent bladed weapon.
Tricerashot can even be manned by a Titanmaster, though not as securely as a proper TM turret gun, of course.
