Hasbro has reapplied for several previously known Transformers related Trademarks at United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Filed on April 13th (status date on April 17th), the trademarks are categorized under “Toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms“.
And the trademarks are as follows:
Since the 10th year anniversary of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is just two years away, we can see a justifiable reason to reapply for the Trademark.
Stealth Force was a major part of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. However, we currently have no idea regarding as to why the renewal has occurred now.
Dinobot is a fan-favorite from the Beast Wars era and given the fact that the characters are appearing on the recently released mobile game Transformers: Forged To Fight, we may see this particular character appearing in the game along with characters such as Rhinox.

Could these have something to do with the Forged to Fight game? ROTF and DOTM designs are used in the game.

How dare you..?

Leader Sentinel Prime is a hot mess to transform. Lots of fiddly panels and the instructions don't really tell you which way some limbs are supposed to go in order for it all to tab together properly. I KIND of successfully transformed him once over the course of an hour and then sold him off. No reason to own a Transformer I'll never transform again.

Not being super complex, just being frustrating, (thing i hope doesn't happens to the mpm prime).

I don't really find any of the ROTF or DOTM figures to be super complex. Even leader prime was fairly straight forward.

An Overly complicated transformation doesn't mean that a figure is good.
I had more fun with the first line (2007) and DOTM than the entire ROTF line, some of the toys aren't enjoyable for me, some of them are just complicated to be complicated like the Battle Blades Optimus, while is a well made engeenering mold, doesn't mean is fun.
When i want some "puzzle/rubik" transformation, i want it to be fun and no frustrating.

While their alt modes are pretty good, hell no please.

YES YES YES

I tend to agree with this. RotF and some figures from DotM, while brilliantly engineered, are not fun toys due to peculiar and often overly fiddly transformations. And if you're not a fan of the aesthetic, as seems to be some complaints here, then the time put into transforming a figure is not very rewarding at the end.
Some people enjoy Rubik's Cubes. I never did. Won't deny the appeal of one for some people. Same applies here to some RotF/DotM bots.

Is this for the purpose of selling more toys? Or a new re lease of DVD with new bonus footage?

Just imagine an MPM Skids and/or Mudflap.

I respect your argument against the movie designs but the source of designs shouldn't be taken account in the engineering.
As these figures are aimed at children, the lights and sound gimmicks are to be expected. They're working on a Movie Masterpiece line where the lights and sound gimmick will be voided from the figures (as they're aimed at collectors).
The beauty of the ROTF figures were ability to translate something impossible into something practical while retaining an alt mode and a robot mode that resembles its source of design. Lucky for you, the current figures are much less complex and easier to transform. However, I don't see how the figures I mentioned above weren't intuitive. Once you transformed it once, there was a rhythm acquired and it was fairly easy to transform back and forth. Sure, we've gotten horribly hard figures before like Deluxe Mudflap, but I wouldn't say Prime and Starscream were that bad to transform. These figures wouldn't have persisted and shown up in other toy lines if they weren't intuitive.

OK I'll play:
First off I don't like the overall designs of the movie characters. I'm not saying the live action movie characters should look like G1 reincarnated but, they shouldn't look like a bunch of walking junk heaps with odd bits of metal just jangling and hanging all over their bodies.
2nd off I'm not a fan of lights and sounds gimmicks. I think in general, the gimmick creates sacrifices in other parts of the figure whether it be articulation, kibble, or transformation or all/some of the above.
Last but not least, I'm not a fan of overly complicated transformations. The two figures that you mentioned had weirdly frustrating transformations. I'm more of a fan of simple yet not too simple transformations. Think intuitive and not crumple up the instructions and throw the figure against a wall.

It's hard to find value in an opinion which has no foundation. You haven't provided a reason why you think these figures are bad.
TyrantGalvatron
I used to own both of those figures and IMO they're both garbage.
And as far as value goes, who's to say what's valuable and whats not? It's all subjective. We're all just offering our opinions. Some people find value in them and some don't.
Purple Heart
Alright.
TyrantGalvatron
You are absolutely correct. I hate the designs that's my opinion. Does that make my opinion absolute? Of course it doesn't. It's just my own point of view.
That's why in one of my previous posts I said "it's just my opinion so take it FWIW" (for what it's worth)

No. The point of a message board is to add something valuable to the discussion. Clearly, you're just senselessly bashing something you don't like. It's fine to dislike the movies, but are you really saying the figures associated with the movies are bad? ROTF Leader Optimus Prime and Leader Starscream are one of the best figures that have come out from Hasbro and there's no denying that.
