From the mind of Tom Scioli comes the adaptation of the movie based on his Transformers vs. G.I. Joe comic series! What’s that, you say? Such a movie doesn’t exist? That’s not stopping it from being adapted! Newsarama has the five-page preview for this coda to IDW Publishing’s crossover series, in what certainly promises to be one of the most bizarre comic releases ever. Check them out after the break, and then prepare yourself for the double-sized issue’s release on March 22!

This looks really cool.
We should talk, cause i\'m actually developing Transformers Vs G.I. Joe stop motion movie.

"My belief is that art should not be comforting; for comfort, we have mass entertainment and one another. Art should provoke, disturb, arouse our emotions, expand our sympathies in directions we may not anticipate and may not even wish.”
Scioli has clearly produced a work of art here.

This looks so ridiculous. A movie retelling of a story that was just published last year? I am in.
This is the first comic book in years that I have had to buy every month.

As someone who grabs every GiJoe Vs TF comic I can get my grubby paws on (I *think* I have them all), I'm looking forward to this. I can see why some people hate the art style, but to me it's just "purposely so retro bad it's somehow good" cheesy awesomesauce. Just hope they skip the My Little Pony cameo this time…

lol!

I got it today at the NC COMICON in Raleigh, NC from the IDW booth. It came with a convention cover. Anyways, it's not really a double issue. It's just a normal size book with half the story and the other half, sketches and notes about the story. It was fun just like the 13 issue series.

I don\'t like it. well, actually I like it even less than the previous (which already was a nonsense)

I think it's British English.
Anyway, although I like retro style comic art, I think this has gone "full retro".
Never go full retro.

Well, I have to go get my copy this week…

I have no doubt. But that doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to not like it nor am I not allowed to post that I don't like it.

And as others have explained the art is part of the story theme and at lot you seem to not get that.
SouthtownKid
In a comic with 'GI Joe' right in the title, you're going to have to accept somewhere around a 50% human focus.

Maybe we would've loved to buy this comic but the art is so unpleasant that we are disappointed. And we are expressing that disappointment in words on a message board about said comic.
Just a guess.

What actually is this? Is it a new comic or a boiling down of the previous comic series. I bought it but haven't sat down with it. I absolutely hated the preview but heard good things about it from friends.
QLRformer
I'm not too pleased with the human focus, but I need to see the full story to judge how it goes. It has my attention at the moment.

Not a comic book reader, but the style and story looks and sounds interesting. It is definitely better than this crap:

While I am super happy to see this, I have to say I'm surprised they've decided to do it in an entirely new continuity. Maybe for a "movie" adaptation, Scioli wanted to lean more heavily on a Sunbow influence than Marvel? Either way, it looks great so far.
I asked for it. A lot of people asked for it. But as for you and the people you know who hated it, every fandom has people like that. Who want the same thing over and over and are afraid of anything different or that might cause them to exercise a different part of their mind.
Don't take pride in being unfamiliar with your native language. Whinging is a word. A common one.
Yeah, I'm picking up Cave Carson pretty much just for the Super Powers backup. Cave itself isn't bad, but not as good as I was hoping for.
Nemesis Scar
The art is meant to evoke 60s comics – especially the art of Kirby, particularly evoking his New Gods-Thor-Secret City concepts in story and design. If you don't like it, then don't rag on it all day. Surely you have better uses of your energy than to complain about a comic you don't even want to buy.

If you liked what Scioli did here, I suggest picking up Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye from DC Comics. Scioli is currently doing a Super Powers backup for it and I like them probably even more than his TFvsGIJoe series (though it hasn't had anything as next level as "Headmasters" yet)
