The least likely can be the most dangerous
We’re rounding out our photoshoots of Titans Return Legends Wave 3 with a gallery of the Autobot ranked no.2 on the list of “best known Autobots”, Bumblebee!
Titans Return lovingly updates Bumblebee with a new Legends class toy, one which sets out to be a new definitive version of the Autobot scout, and we’d argue he succeeds on that front. His robot mode, while not a perfect match for the original design, is the closest homage a Classics styled Bumblebee has had to the look of the 1984 cartoon design, with a headsculpt which nicely captures the character. The vehicle mode is more of a generic small car now thanks to licensing, but it is a design that still feels very much like how Bumblebee should. Like all Titans Return Legends, Bumblebee can seat a Titan Master inside him in vehicle mode, and the vehicle mode doesn’t have issues clipping together like Wheelie did, and as a bonus, the Spike from Masterpiece Optimus Prime can fit inside just as nicely. Check out pics of all this and much more in our gallery:
Titans Return Bumblebee Gallery
Pros
- Excellent headsculpt
- Good likeness for the robot mode
- Nice range of poseability
Cons
- Slightly generic vehicle mode
- The Titan Master cockpit involves opening the entire back half of the vehicle, exposing the head, and generally looks a bit awkward.
- No slight against the toy, but Bumblebee is an overdone character
Overall
A very well done Bumblebee, one of the best renditions available in Generations / Classics at this point. Worth checking out unless you are completely burned out on the character from his heavy exposure over the last decade.

I'm all for free opinion, equal rights etc…
but PLEASE…
remove nice head sculpt from the pro's… before hasbro thinks using a different scale for legends heads is a good idea.
How can you compare… Chop Shops (just choosing a casual legends… cough!..) face sculpt, which is much smaller, with this bb's..
Apples and Oranges…
I might be wrong, but I have gathered a certain consensus amongst legends scale collectors that some of the new legends
are actually made to scale as minibots with generations or voyager. Maybe not but this bb's head is massive, … MASSIVE,, next to other
legends head sculpts.
Whats the point of catering for different markets with different scales, looks etc, if then you suddenly decide to use it all to market one line
above the others… … ..
The only thing I can do with this mold is cover him with Sharkticons till hes no longer visible…

This photo gallery actually inspired me to go out and buy this Bumblebee.
artiepants
I feel you left the mis-matched yellow paint and Tyranosaur forearms out of the cons.
Looks to be a decent little mold, but yeah, doesn't even compare to Classics 'Bee, but I look forward to getting it as Chase and any other variations they do of the mold.
Furnace
I\'m seriously tempted to get him just for the Titan Master integration feature. I\'ve always wanted a Bumblebee that could carry Spike around, and I never thought it would be possible at this scale!
Fallout
i like how this mold is a tiny version of classics BB. that's one of my favorite designs for a toy
Enigma2K2
Standing him with Classics Bumblebee did NOT do him any favors…

The Titans Returns gimmick was enough for me to pick up this figure and enjoy it and not regret my purchase, but I prefer the Thrilling 30 version in most ways. If only the arms were not so weird on this toy. At least he captures the very early G1 aesthetic more than any of the other toys.

Yeah. When Sideswipe showed up in ROTF, I was hoping his brother Sunstreaker would make an appearance eventually (initially thought Dino in DOTM would be him but no). Guess those hopes are dashed since Sideswipe was seemingly killed off-screen between the events of DOTM and AOE.
Sunstreaker could theorectically show up in RID, I guess, since Sideswipe is a main character in the show.

He doesn't get much love does he? I'd love to see him in the Bay films or a new cartoon.

More sunstreakers would not be a bad thing.

I'd be more okay with Windblade rammed down our throats then Bee right now… We got WAY to much black and yellow during the movie years and they were sadly not Sunstreaker.
Raiju
Not a bad mold, really (the alt mode is sufficiently chibi and Animated-esque), but how many damn Bumblebees is Hasbro going to keep ramming down our throats?
Novaburnhilde
Such an awesome little figure.

This definitely looks like a neat figure, one of the better scouts in a while. (Looking forward to Seaspray too!)
But I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the Classics figure, since that will always be the "definitive" modern Bumblebee to me. It's so simple yet captures the character perfectly, and it has one of my favourite headsculpts ever. That smirk is so quintessentially Bumblebee:

Also, it's hard to remember now, but when it came out, it was the first new Bumblebee figure in over a decade, before he became the movie mascot and we were inundated with a thousand variations and repaints clogging the shelves. I don't own a single movie Bumblebee, but I'm keeping this guy forever.

Look great! I hope to run across him soon.

Don't forget to switch up the arms if you're not happy with the current way:
Just be mindful that you'll have to switch the arms back if you want to transform him to a car.

I love the pictures! Great review, too. I was ready to toss this toy, too, until I had it in-hand and just fell in love with how cute he is (honestly the best size class for BB, imo). It's too bad he didn't come with a Daniel figure, as pictured!
One small quibble: Bumblebee burnout. Really? It's not that I disagree, but I find the criticism hypocritical: if this were another Optimus toy, we wouldn't see "Optimus burnout" or "he's been overdone over the last decade."
