We have another news from United Kingdom. This time from clothing retailer Next.
Spotted yesterday by 2005 Boards member Crankcase79, is a cool looking children’s sized Transformers: The Movie (1986) T-Shirt.
The t-shirt is officially licensed by Hasbro under the Transformers: Generation branding.
If you want to pick one up, it’ll set you back £12 (approx $15).
Check out the images, after the jump.

They really need to hit their target audience. XXXL with chip crumbs pre-stuck to the upper front.

My 4 and 6 yo would like to say hi.

Man I wish this existed back in 2007. Seven-year-old me used to rent the old Movie from Blockbuster and the library all the time and got super bummed at the lack of TFTM merch.

Movieverse is cool but G1 is even better. Hopefully Uniqlo makes more TF shirts with the release of TLK.

Uniqlo made transformers t-shirts for one of the film's out a few years ago.
Also, why are people complaining? Stylin' Online, Amazon and a host of other places online sell great Transformers t-shirts, which are as "fashionable" as the next. I used to rock a simple Autobot/Decepticon symbol on a black T-shirt, which lit up in different patterns. It was all the rage at nightclubs.

Ah, I was kidding about the children's size thing – I figured you'd not clocked it in the original post.
I do agree with you – there definitely should be more diversification in the G1 branded clothes. It's weird, though, because I lament how little of this faded style of TF clothing there is. I personally hate the clean print on black / white t-shirt look. I have a couple of them, lurking in the bottom of a drawer, that I've been bought as presents over the years and refuse to wear. To my eyes, t-shirts like that always look like cheapo promotional freebies.
I guess, in summary, we basically need more readily available TF clothes to cater to all tastes.

Kids size only is an odd choice. I suppose I could get one for my wife since she's rather on the thin side and it just might fit her, but wish they came in adult sizes too. Agreed that a crisp black tee would be great; I'm not a fan of the faded look either.
On a side note, I have seen Bape stuff in person; way overpriced and not my cup of tea (which is ironic since they tend to do a lot of urban camo stuff and I tend to like both urban and camo styles, just not the way that Bape does it).
I kinda wish Uniqlo had the license to make Transformers apparel in Japan since their stuff is more my speed (looks clean, good quality, strong materials, very affordable, and lasts a long time) similar to how Unilqo offered a few cool Marvel themed shirts right around the time that Civil War and Deadpool were big.

Well I wasn't referring to the sizes of the shirts noting that in this case they only happen to be children's sizes. I was referring to the colors. And I'm referring to the colors of Transformers themed shirts in general. Most of the Botcon shirts along with many others that have been front paged on this site almost always feature the same ugly colors and geeky designs. If Japan has Bape, shouldn't there be a more urban fanbase to justify Transformers shirts that actually are fashionable? I cant be the only fan out there that dresses with swag…
Also by choice I don't have kids…

UK site listing: – Buy transformers from the Next UK online shop
USA site: – Buy Blue Transformers T-Shirt (3-14yrs) online today at Next: United States of America (costs 20-29 US Dollars)
Japan: – Buy transformer from Next Japan
(For those outside the UK, if you get geo-locked in your own country, you can change the country at the top-right hand corner of the "Nexy Direct" site and also the language. Once done, simply search the site for "Transformers")

It's strange that they chose a child's size for an image more familiar with older collectors. It's almost as if the NEXT marketing department just thought "Transformers = Kids".
While some kids might like the original film, most are not familiar with it, especially in the faded, retro styled T-shirt image pictured above. It seems like a waste when they should have either made it in an adult size, or used more familiar Transformers images for kids, such as NuRID characters, etc.

Very well said. You are awesome.

If you're in the habit of wearing children's clothes to clubs and sports bars, then maybe that's your actual problem right there.
Bzzp. Sorry, incorrect answer.
I could anecdotaly point out that my six year old loves the 80s TFTM, begged me to take her to a recent screening, and can quote big chunks of the film. I'd rather summarise that if you're not familiarising your kids with the stuff you grew up with, you're failing as a parent.

Everytime a transformers shirt comes out its always done in these horrible greys or blues that make it look like been washed 20 times before you even wear it. Can we get some transformers shirts with a little more swag in black, white, or neon colors? Something crisp that I could wear in a club or sports bar that has a touch of urban style would be so much better than this crap. Not all collectors are geeks. Just my opinion.

Two things:
1) When you said "UK store" I assumed it'd be Primark. Really surprised it was Next!
2) When you said "Movie" I assumed you meant TLK and so I didn't care. Now you show G1 and it makes me sad.
They need to make these in adult sizes, I can't imagine that many kids wanting something this obscure [to them] over a modern movie shirt. Next have completely missed their audience on this one!

How do I get this shirt in the US?
DecepticonSpike
I wouldn't say that. My 10 year old nephew loves G1. I even got him a shirt with G1 Prime on it, and he wears in more than the one hos mom got him with movie Prime. He even prefers the CHUG G1 characters to his movie toys.
GAUGE
as if any 9 year old knows shit about 1980s
as if 9 year olds know anything about cartoons and toys from the 1980s
as if 9 year olds give a flying fuck about Transformers: The Movie.
all they know is that anything before 2010 is hella old and they want nothing to do with it.

WHAT? SERIOUSLY? ONLY CHILD SIZES? So disappointing, I really want a G1 t-shirt so badly lol.
