United States Patent And Trademark Office has received a new filing from Hasbro.
The application contains a new logo under the usual category where all other Transformers Trademarks fall under.
The logo contains two halves of Autobot and Decepticon insignia fused into one. A similar logo was used by Hasbro and Takara several occasions before, including Transformers: Armada Sideways and Micron Legends Scourge. A name has not been given to the logo, but we can call it the AutoCon logo for the time being.
Filing Details:
- Trademark ID: 87341865
- Filed Date: Feb. 20, 2017
- Owner: Hasbro, Inc.
- Category: Toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms
We speculate that the new logo is for Transformers: The Last Knight, leading into the theory of Optimus Prime‘s status of Half Autobot and Half Decepticon. Additionally, the logo may be for the Autobot Dragonstorm‘s “Reveal The Shield” gimmick where the Mega 1-Step Changer interacts with the regular 1-Step Changers of the Transformers 5 Toyline.
You can check out the filing at USPTO and a copy of the image, after the jump.

Read that as Lego and not Logo for a moment there.
Looks ok. Seen better.
Sidesprey
Yeah they did changed it a few days back, looks better though
QLRformer
Neat logo.
CripNite
Same logo is used on the app icon for the new game "Forged to Fight".
Shark
Yeah, I'd be surprised if they actually used that in the actual movie
highrise
I have that one as a tattoo

Using it for packaging makes more sense than using an Autobot logo for two years then changing to a Decepticon logo in wave three of a toy line. I'm looking at you Titans Return.
SPLIT LIP
Yup. Probably just for branding and promotion. If not, this is, I'm guessing, for characters without a specific faction. This logo got used a lot back in the UT for anyone who wasn't on or the other. Mostly Sideways. The "Autocon" logo though is a specific faction logo for a specific group.
WheelWave140
Yeah, but the point obviously isn't to blend the two so much as represent both sides with one emblem.
Smitty.1981
I did not know that. However google search did turn up some other, more elaborate "AutoCon" symbols.
Novaburnhilde
Awesome.
That symbol is from the Dreamwave fiction.
Smitty.1981
There are some better fan made "AutoCon" logos out there.
I like this one, I believe I've seen it here before.
