While New York Toy Fair 2017 is taking place is US, the Winter Wonderfest 2017 is happening in Japan. Yesterday, there was quite a lot of news from Wonderfest including Masterpiece Dinobot.
Today, Takara Tomy Designer extraordinaire Hisashi Yuki is demonstrating MPM-3 Bumblebee to the audience and the video is available for our viewing pleasure. TakaraTomy will be releasing the figure Summer 2017. Japanese MSRP – TBA.
Furthermore, a giant banner featuring a never before seen CGI render of Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime is also seen on the show floor.

hahaha. So true.

Agreed. It's been a while since we even had a Leader class Decepticon in the movieverse toy lines (Sentinel Prime technically doesn't count).
I also like how the flame effect can be placed inside the jet thrusters while in alt mode, though I'm guessing Megs only comes with one which may require us to double dip to get two flame effect parts. EDIT: Though if the flame does split in two for jet mode, all the better!
Hopefully some third party will make some articulated finger hands for this guy for even more expressive posing.

Geez, this Megatron looks like a movie Masterpiece. We haven't seen a new movie figure this impressive looking for a long time…

Tell me about it; here i am trying to decide between the hasbro and takara leader megs when i haven't even figured out if i want the leader or voyager version. I guess it's a good sign when i've never cared this much about a movie megs before.
snoopcow
we still have tokyo toy show and summer wonfest
primeisboss
I was really hoping to see more from the TLK line and see legends sixshot and overlord.
Robogeek28
As do I.
It's maddening not knowing for sure.
snakey jones
Yeah, i keep thinking he has a more metallic, gun-metal finish, but that could just be a trick of the lighting.

People have been speculating back and forth over whether the Takara one has nicer paint, but that seems to be it.
snakey jones
So do we know if there's any differences between the takara leader megs and the hasbro release.

We're still waiting on a good shot of Cheetor and Primal next to each other unfortunately. However, KapowToys says he's 7 inches (17.5cm), and Primal is around 7.5 inches (19cm), so they should scale nicely.

Sees pictures of Japanese masterpiece toys on display….. Head explodes
Sees picture of two Japanese masterpieces in front of large movie statues …… Nose bleed!
This thread is great!

Cheetor('s horns) comes up to Primal's nose, so yes. But to me, it looks like he's taller than Primal in MP form. Might be the illusion created by the kneeling position, admittedly.
Any images of them both standing next to each other though? That'd help immensely.

I think you have the numbers switched around. Starscream was MPM-1 and Bumblebee was MPM-2.
Fort Max
That's it for Wonder fest, it's only a one day event.
ZEGR
huh so if Prime is only 20$ more expensive does it mean that he is not gonna be in scale?
SunSwipe5
I would think Starscream would be more expensive than Bee. "Saturn" is the same price point as Bee, which leads me to believe that it's probably Barricade. It was also said that Saturn is a character in the TLK toy line. If they're going by previous movies, and Saturn was in those previous movies as well as this one, it narrows it down to Barricade. He would also be the same price point as Bee, as they are both carbots.
TM2 Dinobot
This. If there are more MPMs, they should be numbers 04 and 05, not one and two.
mx-01 archon
If you're refering to MPM-01 and 02, then TakaraTomy is actually just continuing their number system from past years. MPM-01 was a premium-style deco for Battle Ops Bumblebee, and MPM-02 was Leader Starscream done up in his Movie 1 colours (instead of the Cybertronian tattoos).

So, has anyone attempted to translate the video?
