I'm fine with the race of TFs only being one or two generations old for the same reason that I like a lot of the current comic universe : that's an issue unique to sentient robots. Over the years, TF fiction has tried to tell stories of sentient robots with varying results. For the most part it isn't difficult to tell a story about any kind of character that has feelings, intelligence, and emotion. The trick is finding the conflicts that would be unique to ancient sentient transforming robots. Yeah, a lot of the previous comics had pretty good stories, but a lot of them were good stories that could have featured any character. You could substitute a Marvel or DC character or make up your own character and throw it into the story and it would have been a good story. Concepts like Functionism, the fact that the race only has generations because of wartime production, etc., are the types of issues that would be unique to Transformers. I like the fact that there are some of these anomalies that might seem weird to humans and that we have trouble relating to them, where they might be viewed differently (or even treated as normal) by a race of intelligent robots.

I would watch that and love it but personally I've got a few nitpicks about the premise.
First, I'm personally over the whole "industrialization = evil, natural = good" ideology. So for me, I'd rather have both sides turn into medieval machines.
Secondly, I really don't want the same characters shoehorned into this. Do we really need Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream again? Pull a Beast Wars and make new characters.
Optimus/the leader as a hourse and carriage is a brilliant idea! I love that (though would personally prefer to keep beasts out of it to avoid stepping on Beast Wars toes).
I hadn't ever thought of the cities as castles and feel ashamed by this for this is awesome. OH!! WHAT IF TRYPTICON WERE A HUGE SAILING SHIP?!
I agree that flight should be limited
Yeah I would be very interested in seeing your idea as you presented it but it's just personally I want more generations so I would personally want no known characters in this.
Completely…

In regards to @Vangelus and @TJOmega discussion about the over-sized legends figures at Universal. I filmed one a few weeks back and showed the price tag. Brace yourselves. (SKIP TO 2:25)

OH MY! No I was not intending any dissing!
LOL I thought it would a round table of the whole crew since it was a Big Event if transformers news.
Talk about a dry spell in TF toys.
DestinedAnarky
I'm sure no diss was intended, Seth. Your views and reactions to Toy Fair are just as important as those of the even team. I think they were mentioned specifically since Anti Spark was probably curious if they would be joining you and Vangelus on episode 447.
Seth Buzzard
Oh, I have been dissed.
Vangelus
447 and 448 are both Toy Fair focused
Anti Spark
Will ep 447 have toy fair discussion?
Also will Aaron & TJ be there? I'm very curious as there views on the boat load of new transformers reveled.

The issue of the entire Cybertronian race only being 2-4 generations old has always bugged me. Tying it back into Matrix bearers…Nova Prime's era should be the realm of medieval history to these characters, but it doesn't seem odd to see Transformers who were around back then.
The whole think is wonky.

Dude, medieval Transformers just made me really want medieval transformers as, like, a real thing. So here's what I'm thinking:
You do a sort of Lord of the Rings thing where the good guys represent simple, agrarian living and the bad guys represent industrialization.
So you have the Equibots, who transform mostly into horses, except for Optimus Prime (or Sir Optimus or whatever) who transforms into a two-horse carriage, where the carriage detaches and turns into a repair bay or base or whatever and the two horses turn into Optimus (he's two horses so he can be bigger than the rest). Also Ironhide turns into a bull, Hound turns into a hound, and Bumblebee turns into a pony so he can be little. Add a couple horses like Sideswipe and Prowl and then Seaspray as a canoe or sailboat (what I'd want for his toy is that it's packaged in robot mode and unfolds into a relatively huge boat that you can sit two other figures inside). The play pattern can be that you can get robot-mode ones to ride the horse-mode ones. Later into the line you can get another character introduced who turns into a big lion or dragon or something (Grimlock? Ultra Magnus?) that Optimus can ride into battle. The Equibots are armed with medieval weapons like swords and longbows and kitted out with a crusader aesthetic.
The Catacons mostly turn into renaissance siege weaponry. Megatron can be a big ballista or maybe a cannon. You can have a bunch of catapults and siege towers. I'm thinking no flying characters to emphasize the difference in era, although if you must have them the seekers can turn into Da Vinci-esque flying machines or maybe just birds or dragons. Soundwave turns into a really ornate reliquary or altar or maybe a throne, and his robot mode head has a pope hat. Some of the Catacons could turn into torture devices. Maybe you could get female coneheads who all have that stereotypical princess hat thing going on.
Both sides could have a castle that is revealed to be a transformer mid-season; the Catacons get Trypticon and the Equibots get Metroplex.

I still think about repaints of Cybertron Starscream too but i'm mostly hung up on ones that already exist. I've always wanted a Shattered Glass Starscream and I wish the crown was produced for the voyager class toy because I would give it to Universe 2.0 Dirge. I think he fit better as Dai Atlas than Dirge that way.
I wonder if a 3P crown kit would be feasible if it included the Dai Atlas gun. It was pretty cool in Devastation.

I know some fans were bummed about the amount of mold reuse in CW, but I'm still a bit annoyed we didn't get the G2 Megatron, or a G2 Devastator.
OVR_RUN
To answer the listener question about repaint, Hasbro missed a big one recently, Combiner Wars Leader class Megatron, there was their first good chance to do a G2 leader tank Megatron
Cax6ton
Not bad on the Trypticon predictions, I don't think anyone saw "eats titan masters" in his future.
To my knowledge, the Cybertron Starscream mold was never painted as Thundercracker in any size – believe me, I want that to happen more than most. There was a voyager done as Dirge in a Universe 2-pack with Springer, and the aforementioned legends done as Skywarp and Universe Ramjet, as well as several more Starscream decoes in legends size. Obviously I'd love to see the voyager done as SW&TC, or I'd love to see them give that mold the same treatment they gave the Armada mold as a Generations deluxe…and then there's MakeToys teasing a new mold as well….

Were you able to get Seth to watch Ex Aid yet? And you might be able to start a drinking game whenever Red says "Yossha Lucky!" in Kyuranger…
Triceradon
Another reason I lamented the lack of a Combiner Wars-styled Devastator is entirely because it deprived us of molds that could be redecoed/retooled and extend Combiner Wars even further .
GizmoTron
That one was more of a Fox Kids Transmetal Wasinator colors, one done up in Buzzsaw's true colors and maybe a non-mutant head from the toy is probably what people are looking for.
Knightsword
For the listener that wanted a Buzzsaw repaint from generations Waspinator, the club did him in 2015, in the 4 pack with all the other Waspinator based repaints.
Rodentus prime
I always though repainting Generations Blitzwing as Flywheels should have been a no brainer.

Can't wait to find out how off the mark you guys were! This should be fun.
