Another three-page iBooks preview has been released today, this one for Optimus Prime #4! Things are looking very bad for Cosmos, Rumble, and Frenzy aboard the Junkions’ ship after last issue’s cliffhanger, and in Cybertron’s past, Orion Pax meets once more with Zeta Prime. This issue sees MTMTE veteran Alex Milne return to Transformers comics, serving as fill-in on interiors for regular artist Kei Zama and reuniting with original MTMTE colourist Josh Burcham. Check the pages out for yourself after the break, and pick it up on February 22!

Those are the names of characters Nightbeat is detecting spark traces of in the flower he's examining–which is in the Lost Light #3 preview, not the OP preview.

Guys can you explain me the words Flexor Adjudicus and Turmoil Questex Jab (which possibly the monster thinks). I'm making russian translation for the preview

Everyone cares about the artist. Miline did a great job, that's a good thing for OptimusPrime, but no one mentioned it. Pitty Barber.
Hope more Miline's work in OP. Zamas' great, too. Love her's art so much.
Hope these wonderful artists made OP more popular, really.

I often decide if I buy a manga or not depending on how the art appeals to me, so the artist is always a big factor for me. I absolutely hated the art of the Wolverine Origins comics for example. It was no fun to read those for me. The first manga I bought was Battle Angel Alita, just because I liked the art and how the main character appealed to me. While the art is not bad now, something really is missing.
edit:
Ooops, just noticed were discussing Lost Light in the Optimus Prime thread.

Maybe, but without badmouthing the current artist (I think the current art's doing a more than fine job, so no problem for me!), I do like the look you've brought to the book. Same goes for Nick Roche. Your art has been just as important to me on MTMTE as the story. :-/

The way I read it, Milne wasn't even informed he was not going to be working on the series until the general audience was at SDCC, which was super shitty of IDW. But yeah, I'll be checking out whatever Milne is working on next, his work on MTMTE and Roche's LSOTW were what brought me back into collecting. If they aren't working on Transformers in some capacity, I'm likely to lose interest in the franchise altogether. I mean, there's an entire third party toyline based almost entirely on Milne's art, and it's one of the best out there. Lawrence's rendition of Milne's Cyclonus design was what truly put me off of The Lost Light, how he made one of my favorite Milne designs look like something a ten year old scribbled on the back of a notebook takes a real lack of talent.

Re: Milne not being on LL, look at it this way – it doesn't appear that IDW patted him on the back and then put him out to pasture. If he's working on a new project, he won't have the time to do any LL until that's done, anyway.

As I said in my post, I dislike Lawrence's art to the point I can't pay attention to the story, and I know that dropping the series will likely not bring Milne back, so at the point I'm just done with The Lost Light if/until they bring Milne back. If they aren't going to listen or even respond at all to the general outcry or people emailing them, what other sort of feedback can we give them other than not buying the series? As much as I like Milne, I'd likely still be reading the series if someone talented (like Roche, Zama, Sakamoto, or Guidi) were drawing the series, but I'd still want Milne back. Money saved, I guess.

It doesn't matter what Arcs you work on I just glad to see your work where ever it is .

I'm not dropping my favorite Transformers book to make a statement. I don't want to risk it getting canceled…

Like so many other here I do really hope you come back. While there's been plenty of other really great artists on MTMTE I don't think any of them have been able to catch the acting, which is so important with James character focused writing, as well as you do. The fact that you've been able to make two bots that don't even really have faces, Rewind and Chromedome, two of the most expressive characters in the series is a real testament to your skill.
When I think of MTMTE I think of Skids amazingly dynamic ntroduction, the definitive pre-war Cybertron of Shadowplay and Elegant Chaos, Prowl and Chromedome's Autopsy, every bit of Whirl and Cyclonus, Overlord's Birth on Luna 2, Rewind 1 and Chromedome's last moments together, Remain in Light (!!!), the amazing design work of the DJD, the beautiful talking head sequence of Megatron and Ravage and that look between Rodimus and Megatron as Rod comes back to teleport Megs from the Anti Matter suicide he'd planned for himself.
That the last example was so powerful and sold the scene without any dialogue at all…! So much thought and expression written on both their faces and a massive leap in character for them both.
Anyway, I'll stop embarrassing you with gushing. Like I say I hope you and James work together again on Lost Light. You're an amazing team. I'll certainly be checking out whatever the secret project is.
Yeah, that's not necessary a very clear message to editorial. What if they just conclude that no-one's interested in the series anymore and just stop it dead. Then Alex doesn't have the book to come back to. I can tell you're angry but this does seem a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Your call, of course.
lordcryotek
The only way to send them a real message is to drop the series. Personally, I'm only partially doing it as a statement, I really don't like Lawrence's style of art to the point that I can't pay attention to the story, much like Livio does to me. Sadly, I don't think enough people will do that to make a statement and IDW seems to have manifested a gigantic stick up their collective asses, so this is just another thing I like that has turned to shit.
Murasame
That reminds me, that I wrote them an email, regarding lost light and they didn't even bother to write blabla back, like companies usually do.
lordcryotek
Please tell your bosses:
I hate them and I'm dropping the series until you return. Your art is what made MTMTE, not Roberts' writing. God these past two years have sucked, and this one's already just began. I really hope whatever you're working on is TF related, but I'll try to pick it up even if it's not. Transformers have always been my "escape" when I get stressed, even though the movies are bad, I always knew I had IDW to make up for that, and now the dipshits in charge have lost their fucking minds and disrespected their best artist. What, did those imbeciles hire Pat Lee as editor?

I don't know. I've never been told what arcs I would be doing or when or if I would start working on them. As of right now I'm just doing covers and working on (as of this time) secret project that I will be working on until into July.
power3921
Wait, is it no longer the case that you and Lawrence are switching between arcs?
markerguru
It's not really a big deal. Most people care about the story being told. As long as the visuals are able to tell the story most people are satisfied with whoever is on the art for the books they read.
