Thanks to 2005 boards LazyAza, we have new clear colored pictures of MMC Reformatted Calidus inspired by Hot Rod/Rodimus representation in IDW comics. We can see a full shot of the color scheme in both robot and alt mode.
Calidus’ pre-orders are showing up in our sponsors, so you may check them now.

The trick is transforming the upper half and lower half of the car fully before bringing them together on the sliding waist rail and making sure the hips are perfectly straight before you do this.
Same thing applies to the Nitro and Exitus versions of the toy, the hips being at an angle just makes the pipe tabs much harder to keep their position.

Are you referring to the ones that pop out from the side of the chest? I think it's just a finicky part. Take a picture of what you're referring to if possible.
Scraplet
As a newcomer to this mould (original deco, bought new last year so presumably a reissue), is there a trick to getting the exhaust pipes to line up and stay connected in alt mode, or would that be a fool's errand?
And is that consistent for all versions of the mould?

I don't have this issue for Calidus but I remembered Nitro did. Can't be sure as they haven been sitting inside the boxes since when I can't even remember. Time to dig them out.

My original Calidus doesn't have the issue, but I've seen several mention it. My Calidus* version does have it ever so slightly.
@SharkyMcShark You could glue it, but that would be rather permanent. You could also use future or any kind of acryllic based clear cote (satin likely the best) and brush some on the part of the spoiler that slides in. That would make it more solid and you'd still be able to remove it should you so choose (and should you sell it, the buyer can then decide for him/herself).

@edgs2099 @GunplaGamer @northernautobot
Thanks for your input guys.
I might try the paper thing first and if that doesn't suit, will just glue them.
It's a bit odd, given that everything on the figure is tight (as I said, it was bought MISB though I'm not sure whether it was first run on 2020 reissue).
edgs2099
I don't have that problem, but another solution is a thin sliver of paper.
GunplaGamer
I have the Asterisk version and have zero issues
northernautobot
I have the first run of this figure and haven't noticed any issues. That said, I'd assume you could tighten up the connection with a bit of glue/polish. Personally I would just glue mine in if I were having the issue. They don't need to be removed for transformation.
SharkyMcShark
I got one of these new today.
Does anyone else find the spoiler halves really annoying? They tend to fall out with the slightest nudge.
It's bad enough that I've basically just removed them and put them off to one side.

So this happened the other day, was transforming him to robot mode and the lower leg just snapped off. Struck out with MMC customer support, as they no longer have extra parts for him. Would anyone happen to have a junker for me to get a lower left leg?

MMC support via their website is great, got a part for Optus Pexus from them last year. Calidus is a little older, but it can't hurt to shoot them a message and see if they can get you the part you need.

It can't hurt to ask. They used to have fantastic customer support. It's gotten a bit more spotty in recent years, but my last customer service experience with them was amazing and definitely made me feel much better about them than I have in a while.
If they actually have a spare, they may take care of you. No harm in trying.
QuintusTheExaltedOne
I ordered my Rodimus from BBTS tho
northernautobot
I'd contact Planet Steel Express instead of BBTS. Their support is pretty great.
MMC has a contact page on their website, but I'm not sure if it's maintained.
QuintusTheExaltedOne
So I just had a bunch of shit take a dive and I cannot find one of Rodimus’ wing spoilers. If I can’t find it, can I just ask BBTS to send me a replacement?

Yeah i emailed mmc and they look like they’ll be able to help
lordcryotek
I'd opt for the replacement parts. It's likely it'll cost you less than $20.
