“Grit. Determination. Occasional fire-breathing and nothing even remotely adorable.”
The Transformers Facebook page just went “live” from the football field where the Mini-Dinobots were warming up for tonight’s game. The video gave a short preview of the little guys, who will be appearing in Transformers: The Last Knight. First off was Mini Slug, the running back of the team. He stands at 9 1/2″ tall and is ready to ram right through the opposing defense. Next up was Mini Strafe, playing as wide receiver. He’s not much taller than Mini Slug (1′ 1″), but his wingspan “puts the wide in wide receiver.” Last but not least was Mini Grimlock (1′ 1″), who of course is the quarterback of the team. How can he throw the ball with his tiny arms you might ask? Well, let’s just say they run the ball a lot.
Mini-Dinobot stickers are also now available to use on Snapchat. Examples of those and the Facebook Live video can be viewed after the jump.

I hope we still have slashes on the film

I think my favorite is snarl.

These will be the rage in Japan. They love cutesy things there. Not sure about anywhere else. I\'ll reserve my judgement until I see them as well as the movie. Trailers look awesome, then you see the movie and that becomes a different story.

Ha Ha. Love Dinobots.
MV95
Those guys will be as bullet proof as Bumblebee lol
Incepticon
Well that was easily the stupidest thing I clicked on this month.

I think the characters who had bios released in August will be the main Earth-bound characters, so I think Megatron and Barricade will get the most focus out of the Decepticons. I think Prime and the Quintesson(s) will be the main characters in space. I think the Dinobots, Cogman, and Onslaught will all have several scenes they shine in but not get as much focus.
As to where the mini-Dinobots fit into the movie itself, I have no idea, but I will most likely love it. Wahlberg said fans would go crazy for the Mini-Dinobots, and I can see why just from their appearances.

I can only imagine the children's reactions if the TRF kills one of these small things

We're in an age where originality is almost certainly dead in the entertainment business. At this point, it's who can pull off the same idea in a different enough twist. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's hardly something that takes away from these movies when literally every other Hollywood movie is borrowing from something that's most certainly already been done. Every action, super hero, comedy, drama, chick flick…you name it, has looked almost exactly the same for the past 10 years alone. At this point all we can do is judge how well they execute these similar and already done ideas.

This is so strange… this is an attaempt at \"introducing\" audiences to characters that should have been introduced in the last movie. If the Dinobots had personalities… of spoke to each other…or you could make out what they were (outside of that big, horned T-Rex thing that Prime threatened to murder). Dear, dear Mr. Bay. Characters. You are making a movie about characters, not things that bend over car hoods, make dick jokes or cause explosions.

I think we're gonna get great stuff from Megatron and maybe Barricade in TLK but I don't expect much from the other Cons. Everyone was excited for this new unique lineup of Cons when they saw the vehicles but Onslaught is a Long Haul clone, Hooligan is a Crankcase clone and who knows where that Shockwave clone came from.

Just sort of adds to the feeling of they are copying from all over pop culture in the hopes of if they imitate something really popular maybe the domestic numbers will go up. We had the trailer where they seem to be attempting to go Game of Thrones. Last Marvel/Disney and Warner/DC had the big hero vs hero movie and now Transformers has to do hero vs hero. I'm just so cynical at this point that it feels like they went hey baby dinos were popular in Jurassic World and everyone love baby Groot so we need our cute baby something.
Kind of sad when fighting Nazis feels like their freshest idea because it's been a few years since a big popular TV show or movie had fighting Nazis.

That trait also makes AOE my favorite live action tf film. But yeah we need that level of screen time and interaction again, this time between both factions. I feel we definitely might get good decepticon screen time with Barricade back in the picture and he actually has a team of Cons, with Megatron back as well.
normtrooper
Despite the problems it had AOE got one thing so right IMO. The autobots actually interacted with each other and had genuine character traits. Enough so for it to be my favorite live action tf film by a mile. I just hope somehow they can give the decepticons a turn this time around. The closest we ever got to decepticons interaction was the far too short desert scene in DOTM
transformervic1
We'll see that's for sure. I mean I'm still unsure just how much TF screen time is in this, if it's on par or better than AOE screen time, etc.
normtrooper
I understand your point, sadly doesn't work for my perspective as I hated the googly eyed trash bots as well lol. But they were in it so quick I didn't care.
normtrooper
I bet they get a crap load of screen time, otherwise why would they do a whole "livestream" to introduce these characters to the public? something they have never done with any characters. But your prediction is certainly possible.
transformervic1
They're cute and adorable alright. However they probably won't get much screen time besides being shown being protected by their bigger counterparts. Otherwise in a fight a human could even squish them like an ant.
Shark
By the way, to those who are worried about the baby dinobots not fitting the movieverse aesthetic….have you forgotten about the goofy googly-eyed death robots on Lockdown's ship??
Shark
Now I'm kinda wishing Isabela has these guys as her friends instead of Sqweeks, lol
