Courtesy of the Toyer City HK Facebook page we have our first look at the combined form of ToyWorld Bruticus. Seemingly and almost unbelievably more massive than their previous release, Constructor, Bruticus appears to feature the same add-on combiner parts to help create a far more stable and articulated combined figure.
It is unclear based off of this one picture whether ToyWorld will be following the traditional G1 look for Bruticus or rather continuing on with their Studio Ox take on these combiners. Either way, this is unmistakably Bruticus and the Combaticons.
With the upcoming boxset re-release of ToyWorld’s Constructor, it is unclear whether this project will be released individually or if it will come as another boxset. It’s likely these figures will be released individually with the possibility of a boxset release following some time in the future. It’s just a matter of whether or not you can wait long enough for the entire set to come out all at once or you absolutely must have each figure as it’s released.
Check back with us for more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, jump over to the discussion boards to let everyone know how much you are utterly in awe of this massive creation.
EDIT: We have confirmation from TFW2005 board member Qingtianzhu, who has been instrumental in communicating fan needs and reactions directly to ToyWorld, that both Bruticus and Superion will have individual releases, with the first pair of each tentatively scheduled for release in April.

I've said "retire" before.
Still need a car robots Baldigus/Ruination recolor/retool of this.
Miroboto
Just purchased Zeta metallic version. Now will work on xtb defensor and individual xtb dev and retire.

Awesome, so glad it helped!
KlotziDotCom
This thing is a godsend, thank you for that. Bought, printed, installed – Works like a charm!
Carlin
Thanks for the input. Yeah I think I'm going to pass on this. I'm not really in a rush to get a zeta bruticus, might as well get the best version when I do.
KlotziDotCom
Not scolding you in any way or blaming you, was my own journey going through all that, no worries
I'm sure Zeta didn't suddenly change weights all over the place, the most notable differences are definitely in the feet (which had Diecast in the OG release) and the knee connection to Swindle, i don't know how much the chestpiece adds to all of it, but i doubt the cannons are a factor.

I'm the person that sold Klotzi the original set; thought it was time to let my presence be known. Since I own the toon box set that came after it, I'd say you're better off getting any of the later editions. My toon set has better weight distribution across the board and feels.. lighter? I feel most of the weight might be in Onslaught's cannons. The friction pads also work very well.
KlotziDotCom
No, the only reason to buy it is because it's probably the cheapest option. There's a non-metallic set on Vinted right now from Spain for 375 EUR. Taobao will have at least $80 shipping (that's what i paid for a 2nd hand one without boxes!), they occasionally pop up here and there, but getting anything sub 300 EUR is a bargain. I'll take a look at designing the hip parts and have them available as printed parts later tonight. If I was you, i'd get the one you've been offered and hit up ShowZ for spares if you can't wait for my 3D variant.
From what i know, ShowZ charges $20 including shipping for a full set of spares.
Carlin
Is there anything better about the first release? Thinking I might just take the L and wait for a reissue of the metallic box set or hop on taobao/eBay if I get really desperate.
Carlin
Thanks for the heads up on this. Turns out the bruticus had a busted hip he repaired which explains the low price.
KlotziDotCom
Well yes I like it, but I also am stupid. I mean, I am just hoping to sell what I don't need anymore and basically drop the price that I paid. $250 is a no-brainer.
I was thinking about revising the ratchet and build one that allows for a finer setting, but I fear this might make it too easy to flop / click, if you know what I mean.
Bruticus is a BEAST and he's heavy and those 2 hip ratchets basically carry all the weight of it, so it's not that easy.
Carlin
You must REALLY like the mold lol
I’ve never worked on a tensioned ratchet before but would it be possible to make parts that are sandwiched perpendicular to the direction of the spring?
KlotziDotCom
I didn't even consider doing that, although I probably could. The springs are incredibly tense and I don't believe that ABS / PLA would necessarily hold up, I might try though.
I ended up buying a second Bruticus for spares (which had a broken hip as well..), another Silverbolt (ripped the hips from Superions Torso) AND another Bruticus Torso (4th Gen in the OG colors, but toon chest, fixed hips and Swindle attachment). Oh and I've asked ShowZ for spares – which I probably should have done in the first place.
It's been a ride and apparently, I have too much money, but the end result is SO satisfying.
Carlin
Oof. Was just about to pull the trigger on it. Has anyone managed to 3d print replacement pieces?
KlotziDotCom
Be careful, the first release has an issue with the hips – The plastic that was used here can't hold the spring tension and will eventually crack and break. It is possible to get replacements, but keep that in mind.
werewolfspice
That's a good deal if it's in good shape. That seems really low compared to what it normally goes for, if that helps.
Carlin
Thanks for the offer but I don’t live in the states. I was actually offered this set for 250$ but wasn’t sure if it was worth that much with all the different box sets they’ve released.
werewolfspice
I'll sell you mine for $400 if you live in the states. It's complete but without the box, which is probably for the best because the box for the set of these was gigantic. Anyway, PM me if you're interested, it's at least a bit cheaper than the ones on ebay will run you.
Carlin
What’s a good price for the original release used?
KlotziDotCom
Alright, I bought a used set and (of course) the hip joint cracked. Not necessarily the sellers fault, i don't blame him because this is a common breakage.
Bought a second set in China (Onslaught looks a little ravaged but the rest seemed okay) which was cheap enough for a junker and resell and I got a Silverbolt complete on the way for spares – Might just use his hip joints for my Bruticus.
Anyways: What exactly was changed at the knee connection between the "old" release and the reworked version (which also has the hips reworked)?
Does anyone have pics?
