To be fair, they don't look as bad in their vehicle modes.

When I was a little kid, I bought Transformers toys from 1984 onwards. The same toys adults bought reissues of.
So why is "its for little kids" considered a valid excuse for crappy toys? Because I say it isn't. Even the Throttlebots and Sparkabots were better toys than these, and they were only small and simple so that they could have a gimmick at the lowest price range.

I like the one steps, they're good fun. But I do wonder why they keep making multiple versions of the same characters, obviously must be cheap just to retool the same basic transformation, but seems like overkill.

Come at me bro.

Hahha, hey don't judge some of these one steps too harshly. I picked up a bayverse megatron one step awhile back because eh, why not, tank mode looks kinda cool. After seeing how much it sucked on YouTube I decided just to keep it sealed. Fast foward today and that little fucker goes for like 100 bucks on amazon and ebay today. I wish I would have bought the other one they had. Who would have thought.

LOL!! Come on, guys!! You gotta sell some figures that the little kiddies, i.e. not grown-ass men, can beat the crap out of.

no,these are your OWN toys, you bought them with your OWN money, and you but them in your OWN collection…so I don't see any problem with that

I started buying them when they were £5.00 each – Some of them have some interest to them like The IDW style Prowl or ROTF style Megatron
I kinda like Steeljaw and the Drift Helicopter too. Some of the Dinobots are fine too – I'd never pay £10.99 for them though.
But they are something fun to pick up in the supermarket when they can't be bothered to stock the more elaborate toys. they kinda remind me of the 1980's small sub-groups too like the the Triggerbots & Sparkabots in terms of their relative simplicity… not that some of them are that simple really some of them are quite convoluted and full of hinges and scissor joints.
I might have ignored them if I'd had more options available but I don't so I didn't..
I expect there will be even more of them into 2017 with The last Knight ones being likely to outstay their welcome a bit too. (If hasbro makes them). Personally I'd rather have TLK legion class.

These toys aren't for us. That's fine. I just think that these new ones look especially bad and that kids deserve better. If they're too young get them rescue bots. Anything higher than seven, they're old enough to have a deluxe.
EDIT: I meant rescue bots at the moment. One-steps are usually fine for them.
Mr JackatooTM
Is it bad that I got the one step Bee and Optimus on the left?

I don't mind, they're good for little kids but really. In a collection they look crap.

I have several one-steps, my son loves playing with them along side Generations and Warriors. I'll never quite understand why so many adult collectors disagree with these co-existing on store shelves.
I think one-steps are great for those kids who are into acting out the stories with their Transformers. In the shows and movies the characters transform in a matter of seconds and these one-steps allow for kids to have their toys transform just as quickly.

I keep my one-step RiD changers in Vehicle mod, they're fugly in bot mode.
ssjkazer
Yeah i buy my son classic toys now he cant stand these one step changers

-Remember Animated Activators? They were one-step transformations and were awesome!
-Remember RiD (the good one) basics with the one-step transformations? They too were awesome.
-Remember Jump-Starters with their super simple one-step transformations? They weren't awesome, but still leagues better than these.
Mr JackatooTM
This smart guy here got a 6 pack of them for his first toys in his collection. Don't know wtf I was thinking…..
darkus Maximus34
instead of giving us a proper toy..they gave us this ? I feel sorry for the kids
Lord Dcast
I get that these are for little kids…really little kids…but these really do look ugly. The previous one-steps looked okay for their age bracket, but this just does not.
Meanwhile the Warriors are pretty fantastic at the moment actually. Ever since they ditched the beast/robot hybrids its been pretty amazing actually. I just wish Starscream would show up in Australia; he's next on my list.
