Several reports are coming in on the 2005 Boards saying that members are finding the Titan Class Titans Return Fortress Maximus at discount store Ross. The best part? The figure is ringing up at a staggering $54.99! If you’ve got a Ross store in your area, you may want to check it out to get the best deal on this Titan Class figure!

Keep your eye out. They will mark it down

$40 is not a discounted price for that thing. Rather it is the intended price point of the figure when it was designed for Beast Machines.

Are they still $13?

I've never known Costco to have toys after Christmas, and I never heard of them having Fortress Maximus at all. Did somebody actually find him there?

Well, it doesn't matter anymore, as FM shows as sold out at EE…

Then if nothing else it's stupid for my EE rep to send me to FedEx for a quote. They deserve to get half as much from you all as they were trying to take clients for.

FedEx gives pretty huge discounts to business accounts. At work I can ship a 50 lb box from North Carolina to California for $10. If I used my personal account it would be closer to $60 for something that heavy.
RKillian
I put the weight and dimensions into the FedEx website and that's what it said. What else do you want from me? EE would not give me a shipping quote themselves because that would have been customer service.
What Mr Brake Drum doesn't tell you is that he used a flat rate box. Find one that fits a Fort Max.
metalwar2010
I think someone maybe using the incorrect dimensions, as that plays as much as a role as weight does. I can assure you, as someone who has shipped small and large items (both vintage and this new Fort Max), all over the world, there is no way a Fort Max costs $55 to ship within the US. You can use USPS for much cheaper.
Keep in mind, Sellers like EE get a large discount so that is another thing not being factored here.

The free shipping is Smart post. It's only billed as Parcel Select.
And you're waaaaayyyy too wound up. I recently shipped a 26 lb electronic drum set for $24 FedEx Ground

I went right to the FedEx website as EE ships via FedEx. 40% of Americans live on the east coast. When was the last time you shipped anything as big and heavy as a Titan class TransFormer, let alone cross country? Costs go through the roof past about 4 pounds and it gets worse faster with long distances.
USPS commercial base rate to California for 2lb boxes was $12.80 when I had it and MattyCollector published a similar rate when they used FedEx for MOTU subscriptions. Fort Max is 5 times as heavy and 10 times as large. Doubt they're paying the $55 they would've billed customers but $25 is too far in the opposite direction.

Umm… What? What kind of shipping rates are you going by? There's no way it costs $55 to ship a 9 pound box via ground anywhere in the US. UPS ground or Fedex ground will probably run you about $25 max. Less if you have an account and some discounts.
