Care of TFW2005 member Rabble, we can report that the first assortment of 2017 Robots in Disguise Warriors have arrived at US retail. Carrying a “Combiner Force” branding, the assortment includes comic inspired redeco Alpine Strike Drift, and new Autobot characters Blastwave and Stormshot. Existing toys such as Strongarm and Starscream are also being rereleased in the new style packaging – implying a wider retail release for Starscream in the same vein as Megatronus.
The assortment was spotted at a Toys R Us in Glendale, Arizona.

I really hate when that happens, and is the reason why I don't do that anymore.

Really, My TRU had a few just today. I also got 2 of Blast Wave for someone on the board, though he never got back to me.

Yeah,I totally get that complaint! Sadly though, this isnt isolated to RID, the currnt generations line is doing it too with the Legends Class.
SG Roadbuster
The complaint isn't about older figures being repacked.
The complaint is about the older figures being repacked IN GREATER NUMBERS than the new toys making their debut in this wave.
1 each of stormshot and blastwave 2 each of the same strongarm and grimlock that have been clogging pegs since christmas 2014

They space them out so that you dont get the same toys on the shelves. You will see Bisk and Ratchet and Windblade again in wves thoughout 2017.
And it does happen all the time, you just have to give it time for the rest to be rereleased. Has any RID toy of 2015 or the first half of 2016 not been rereleased?
And anyways, fans complain here that stores overstock on these rather than Generations toys so if you store stocks this wave, you will surely find them even if they are only 1 per wave. To my knowledge, no fan in the US has ever missed out on any of the RID warrior toys released at least 6 months ago.
Robogeek28
If that were true there would be a Windblade in wave three, and Ratchet, Bisk, and Scattorspike in this wave.
While I hope you're right this time, it's definitely not something that happens all the time.

But every wave repeats characters, meaning that the waves after this one will also have stormshot/white Drift/Blastwave. It comes out to the same thing. And its even better that way. Think about it, if a store doesnt stock a certain wave of Titans Return, you wont be getting those characters. BUT, with RID, if a store doesnt stock a particular wave, you can still find all those characters in a later wave.
Its just a different wave of building waves that comes out to the same thing and maybe even better. It gives a chance for others to get characters they might have missed before (like Bisk).
Goaliebot
This wave has just shown up at Canadian retail (WalMart).

I can forget finding Stormshot, as according to BBTS the new characters are each one per wave.
Goddammit Hasbro!!

I've found KOs on both ends of the quality spectrum. Heck, I have a KO Henkei Optimus that's pretty dang good in the plastic quality department. I've also handled a couple of Big Lots KOs that were crappy enough to throw away or give to someone else. Ratchet just didn't feel very good to me, even compared to the Titans Return/Combiner Wars figures he shares pegs with in stores. Not much weight or solidity to him compared to Hardhead or Scourge.
Robogeek28
To be honest, other than TRU Starscream and Paralon, I've been getting the TAV version of the characters I want, so I haven't paid attention to what wave has how many revisions/repaints in them before now.
w1n1fred
Was there any difference in the deco of both starscreams?
Its been happening since last year. Every single wave rereleases previous figures. If you didnt notice by now then this wont be any different. And those older figures sell just as well. Plus its a chance for stores that skip waves to finally have figures people wanted, like Thunderhoof in the Ratchet wave.
Robogeek28
All I want from this wave is Stormshot.
Shion963
Might actually pick up Blastwave and Stormshot if I see them!
BB Shockwave
Nah. The RID line has good plastic quality, whether Takara or Hasbro. I have a feeling people saying "knockoff feeling" have never encountered those really, really terrible knockoffs that seem to be made of soda drink bottle plastic. Or Roadbots, which have slightly see-through and really rigid (and prone to breaking) plastic.
