Machinima have announced that they will be following up their Combiner Wars web series with two further series, based on the so-called “Prime Wars” trilogy. As expected, the Combiner Wars animation will be followed by a Titans Return animated series – and this will be followed by the third part of the trilogy, Power of the Primes. It is reported that Combiner Wars Executive Producer and Showrunner Eric Calderon will return to oversee both of these new shows – so it looks like Transformers fans will have plenty more web animated content to enjoy in the future. Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein and Hasbro Chief Content Officer Stephen Davis expressed their excitement at continuing the partnership to deliver new digital-first stories expanding and exploring the lore of the franchise.
The big news here, though, is that via the Machinima press release (posted here on Superherohype as well as elsewhere) we have a tentative name for Hasbro’s follow-up to the current Titans Return line of toys and the third part of the Prime Wars trilogy, Power of the Primes.
This makes sense and with a certain amount of lateral thought, you probably could have seen this logical next part of the series coming, given how the shadow of the ancient Primes – and their ongoing repercussions in the present – have been a major part of IDW’s Combiner Wars and Titans Return story arcs.
Of course, this is not to say that Hasbro will definitely run with this for the toyline – the nature of the announcement means that this could have been worked out far enough in advance that plans may yet change – but given the interconnected nature of the Generations line, comics, and now web animations, it seems entirely likely we’ll be adding Transformers Generations: Power of the Primes toys to our toy shelves alongside our other Classics and Generations toys.

Well, Combiner Wars was a piece of crap, but why learn from experience?
BumblebeeFan71
Yep. It's just too fitting of an image.
PeterMagnus
It was a pretty funny scene though.
Purple Heart
I always feel bad for those poor trains.
PeterMagnus
You mean the Astro-force right?
BumblebeeFan71
I sat through the first trainwreck, definitely not going to stick going to stick around to watch the two other trains collide into each other. I feel like this scenario can be perfectly described with Astrotrain trying to guide the other trains in the episode "Triple Takeover."
SouthtownKid
I hate Zone, but Zone had a writer, so is better by default.

What's "worse" to people may not depend on quality alone. The TF movies are worse than some of the cartoons to some despite not being quality wise as bad, but because the movies target a broader audience and are from a different time, they're held to a different standard.
Mako Crab
You got people in here saying it's the worst piece of TF media ever produced, so it's already being compared to everything TF ever made. Zone counts under that broad spectrum & IMO Zone is worse.
SPLIT LIP
Nobody ever combined in it ever.
And Starscream's weird ethereal merging doesn't count.
That's one hell of a weird comparrison.
Zone is like a million years old, Japnese-exclusive, and not targetted towards adult collectors.
Windsweeper II
It was just radically different from what was promised. Still the fact that these where gonna be five minute things should have warned us.
It is pretty bad imo, Windblade was pretty cool in it, but its Windblade so people are gonna act way out of proportion. The whole Starscream thing was terrible though.
And there is the fact that therw was barely a story.
And all this while we where promised a cartoon for adults.
Mako Crab
I still don't get the massive hate for this thing. At worst it's just an average show. TF: Zone was far more mind numbing with its non-stop barrage of fighting that was the equivalent of a kid bashing his toys together. *THAT* was pure pain.
MastaBlasta
Watch them kill Galvatron with the "Friendship formation." And windblade will probably try and murder the poor titanmasters
lordmegatron64
HI! I'M WINDBLADE!
Mako Crab
Oh god, that was beautiful!!! Hahahaha!!!! I think Megatron came out of all that looking the best. The accent was great too. My god!!
maxxzander
fcuk machinima!! i\'d rather go for bayformers anytime if want to compare rotten eggs to pile of crap
Galvatross
Hahahahahahahahahaha! I literally laughed out loud while reading this from my laptop in the middle of one of my graduate school classes!
Any Transformers show, film, or comic, however flawed, is better than the Combiner Wars web series. I would rather watch a web series based on B.O.T. or Carnage in C-Minor. At least that would be entertaining as hell. Needless to say, I don't have high hopes.
Smitty.1981
I may be a simple fan with a so-so photo comic, that is oddly named, but at least I had combiners in by Combiner Wars story, and a Titan that returned in my on going Titans Return story (links in sig).
Autobot Burnout
Finally got around to watching this and my god I'm already laughing at how appropriate the music selections are.
