A treat for Sixshot and test shot fans comes to us from a taobao listing as we have some clear and up close images of the upcoming Titans Return Leader Sixshot in blue and grey test shot form! The images give us a more defining look at the highly anticipated six-changer and the blue seems to bring out a bit more detail in the mold itself, showing Sixshot in an all new light.
Check out the images after the jump and be sure to share your thoughts in the discussion below!

Ah me, you're so right Sigmalock, why I didn't pay any attention to that? I stand corrected, Sir. And thanks again for the really nice & clear pic!
I just noticed that the face seems "mushy", and not crisp & sharp, but I assume that's either the glass causing an optical distortion or because it's a pre-production sample piece. The new gallery shows a much cleaner face-mold, thank goodness!
Sigmalock
No worries
Did you click on the jpeg itself (bottom of my post)? This should enable you to see it full sized in a separate window (you can also Google 'Titans Return Sixshot' to see some more, bigger photos).
Yeah, I ended up doing the same thing as you with TR PMOP, and may end up doing the same with Sixshot, for exactly the reasons you stated

Thanks for the image, Sigmalock, but to be honest, it's a bit small, even with my screen zoom feature. I can just make out how Sixshot' s wings seem to be in the fully upright position a la G1. Hmm…I never noticed the dark/black thighs until you pointed them out, and I'm not crazy about them, but that's only a minor quibble; he's too cool to pass up otherwise. This may be another instance where the all-too-subtle Takara improvements prove too expensive for my budget, since I'm guessing their price to be $100.00+ in U.S. currency. I gave up on Ginrai for the same reason, but the Hasbro versions aren't too shabby, so I'm a happy Collector!

Here you go:
As I've said before on another thread, while I love what Hasbro has done here, I'm curious to see what Takara (hopefully) comes out with.
I'd particularly like to see something akin to his boxart:
In other words, in addition to Takara doing their usual thing with silver-painted hubcaps, my hope is they will also give him:
– white thighs;
– (mostly) purple shins;
– white wolf claws;
– colouring of the chest wings (rather than the chest);
– maybe even white tank treads (although I don't mind the black on Hasbro's version)
One of my local chains has Wave 1 and 2 Leader Class TR figures for less than I can get them shipped, so while I may have to wait a while for TR Sixshot to come out here at retail (the perils of living Down Under), it should also allow me to wait and see what (if anything) Takara comes out with.
Worst case scenario, I take the Hasbro + Toyhax/Reprolabels route, as you suggest
MasterScale
Hmmm… how many of you think with a heavy re-tooling that this could be turned into Optimal Optimus?
AutobotAlvaron
I'm curious about Sixshot' s wings, can they be posed upright in bot-mode like his G1 self? He seems to be displayed with them down in most photos. Even in the pics where the Designers are holding both the original & the new TR one, they're both shown with wings in the lowered down position.
Overall, he looks fantastic. I just wish they had chromed his wheels like the G1; here's hoping ToyHax/ReproLabels fixes that.
Hmm, I wonder if HasTak will make a remolded GreatShot out of this, I sure hope so, but he'll probably be an exclusive of some kind.

I know what you're referring to, and when I saw pictures like this, I too was wondering what they were thinking:
Even the stock hasbro image of the jet has the head out (if you look really closely).
But then I went back and checked some other pictures of the jet like this one, which clearly has the head concealed (see just behind the bot mode):
Plus, pretty much every side, top, or rear picture of the APC mode shows him configured without the bot mode head visible (I haven't seen anything so far to suggest that it would be any different for the jet mode):
I think it bodes well for your PMOP-style "transformation-without-head-removal" idea

Forget Sixshot and Greatswitch.
Where's my Shadowmaru and Kagero?

I believe you mean submarine there buddy.

Those prototype colors are pretty awesome, can't wait for the official release.

I really hope for a Greatshot retool down the line… That is a no-brainer.

Personally, I'm interested in the possibility that SixShot here might pull a 'Powermaster Prime', in that he does the Titanmaster/Headmaster thing, but might not require removing it to transform the toy. The helmet bit appears enclosed and flips inside the body for at least some modes.
Many seem to leave the head/helmet out for jet mode though, which I find strange. Best guess, the robot helmet and beast head occupy the same space in the body cavity, so both can't be flipped inside at the same time.
TeamAutobots81
there\'s 3 more mode for Sixshot.Tank,Armored car and laser pistol.

Interesting that there is another blue Sixshot test shot out there.
Just give me him now.

Soo…
Has anyone made the 'cock'pit joke yet? No?
Just think about it for a second. There you go. Toy ruined.

in a line full of pretty impressive figures, this is the one i am most excited about.
I always wanted him as a kid, but waffled on the reissue because i'd become accustomed to articulation by then.
This really feels like they took the original and modernized it, or "actualized" what the original was going for…
look forward to having him and Super Ginrai squaring off.
prfctcellrulz
Damn I want him! WHY ISN'T HE AT RETAIL YET?!?!?
combinerlover
I like the head , surprisingly , looing 4ward to QUICK SWITCH .

Yea, I think it's mostly so that 'Tank' / Anti-Aircraft turret mode can join up with Trypticon as a weapons platform / base mode.
See how they end up on the outside.
