If anyone picked up Surrey Advertiser on Friday to do some light reading on the weekend, they’ll be treated to a little article summarizing the Transformers: The Last Knight Principal Photography which took place in Bourne Woods fortnight ago.
We’ve selected some interesting bits from the article for you to read:
“It was pretty brutal, to be fair,” an extra [who played a Saxon invader] said about the filming. “We had to go through hair and make-up first, which was pretty cool. They covered us in fake blood and made a mess of your hair, which I wasn’t too pleased about. There was a lot of charging up and down hills – it was really tiring. There were fake dead horses, heads on spikes, lots of fire and smoke, with lots of explosions and dirt falling everywhere.”
“Sometimes it was running down the hill then up the hill. At one point we were supposed to be running away from something and look scared. I was pretty scared anyway because there were horses charging past me and lots of huge, angry men. They were these great big guys and they would say ‘no, after you’ or ‘excuse me’. They were really polite.”
What’s so great about Michael Bay is his attention to detail:
“Costumes included ‘scary helmets’ chainmail. Mine was running I would quite quite fur, and plain really, I had a leather breastplate thing and a bit of fur running down my back and a chainmail mini dress, which was quite interesting. It was absolutely brilliant. It was a real drag coming back to work. It’s nowhere near as exciting.”
Finally, the extra added “I would love to do it all over again.”

I choose my words carefully, thanks.
There's a difference "A signature" and "THE signature."
Autobot Burnout
I thought the signature of Transformers was, y'know, alien robots that could change their appearance to perform advanced mechanical mimicry?

Also, be careful all you do say As "under contract" means you shouldn't even be telling us you was an extra, at least till after the embargo is lifted.
tonyformer
He said Bay was there and he was part of the battle.

Well I was also an extra (in AOE) and had some friends also as extras and they only tell you just enough to keep you interested in your "role". So if you know exactly what's happening in the scene you was in, congrats. Not very many extras know what's going on till after they see the movie for the first time themselves.

I don`t want any thing Transformer wise on that battle feild except for possible TERRORCONs , or at least that Hydra thingy from the billboard , and if so I want it to be a transformer

I wish I was in a high budget summer action film….

Yeah, I'm jelauos It seems, you actually were right in the center of medieval battle! It would be cool, if we'll see some of our old familiars here! I feel this

Sounds like a story you'll be telling your grandkids about.

Full on Michael Bay.. really nice bloke. Spoke to all us extras regularly, and often right with us in the group! Even asked me to move my flag down a bit so it could fit into shot!

I think all the movies have been pretty consistent in that respect, even going back to the animated '86 movie and certain episodes of the original cartoon.
It's kind of a signature of the brand, actually.

And?

Whoa! Heads on spikes and dead horses…fake dead horses. Is it me or are the Transformers movies getting more violent with each release? The last one with TJ Miller\'s character getting burned and then just having his fried skeleton frozen just standing there. Even the Transformer deaths are pretty violent…Lockdown getting sliced down the middle up close and personal.
CKPRIME
Damn, what a tease you are!
Was it second unit stuff or did you get to experience Bayos?
Hazekiah
I'm guessing it's the three-headed dragon-thing…kinda seems like it would make the most sense on a medieval battlefield.
Or maybe Merlin using his staff, I guess.
SideswipeGP
hahaha Guess that's for me to know and you to find out next summer!

You said, like you have seen a scenario, but you obviously can't know much, because even the crew don't know much
Sixshot93
Wait, wha- You were there?! Holy sh-
SideswipeGP
Sorry mate, by contract not allowed to say! I would say that some people are looking for clues on the battlefield that simply aren't there though (flags etc). It's a straightforward medieval battle. Maybe..
It's going to look amazing on screen though, guaranteed! Hundreds of soldiers, forty horses, flaming arrows..
'Without sacrifice.. there can be no victory!'
