Toys R Us Japan have updated their listings for the Transformers Movie anniversary series with color images of the Grimlock and Strafe releases for the line. These two were previously shown as grey models even when we saw the rest in color – and we can now report that Grimlock will be sporting a movie accurate palette of greys and greenish greys. Strafe looks more or less as he did on the original release, with a healthy amount of blue. Check out the images of both toys attached to this post.

I'd keep it, then buy a junker RotF Leader Prime off eBay or a member here and get the face plate that way. The original release of the mold has the same color of blue. So it works!

Now BBTS offered to have me send them the current head and they will send me a replacement head. Question I pose is this is my only Leader Prime of this mold and I kind of like both the faceplate and mouth versions of the head. What would you guys do? Keep the head with the mouth or send in for the faceplate version?

No Barricade in Movie Best. I'm guessing because the Masterpiece is coming.
The original Hasbro and Takara Barricades from 2007 are identical IIRC.

My MP Clamp Down came with a Sideswipe style head instead of the Red Alert style that he should have, but I like it because he's toy accurate. I assume that some old stock parts end up in the mix from time to time. Or they messed up gating the mould perhaps? I would like to think that they'd be worth a little bit more but they're not quite as cool as an old Gibson guitar factory spare parts special except to weirdos like me. Depends on the collector I guess. We're all nuts anyway.
I hope that I've used up all my wrong head mojo already, I really want my MB-11 with a faceplate. But I won't find out until I ship MP Dirge.

Yes, just get a head from the original plain Jane rotf leader prime. It's a perfect color match. I put the face on my old one into my APS-01U. You'll probably want to add a little silver paint, then it's perfect.
sideswipe29
If you have APS-01U I'd say you don't need to spend your money on MB-11. If you really want the faceplate I'd suggest finding a junker Prime off eBay and doing a little paint work.
That's my plan at least once I find the money to afford APS-U
Spaceman1251
Dang. That sucks, but thanks for sharing. I decided to keep my preorder after finding out about the lack of dark gray paint, but with the risk of getting one of those, and already owning APS-01U, I might have to cancel.
Carnage73
Is Barricade on the list of reissues? Which is a better figure, Hasbro Deluxe Barricade or TakaraTomy Barricade?
sideswipe29
Huh. I think this is somehow an error with some figures because I've seen images on Instagram of MB-11 without a faceplate.

Definitely contact BBTS to see if you can get it swapped because that's really disappointing. Hope you can get it sorted out.
terintamel
Maybe they ran out of regular heads?
Does this make mine more valuable? Like an error card?
Seth Sunthay
WOW! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE.
Actar
Wow, how is that even possible? I'm legitimately curious…
process
If you ask they might send you a face to swap in.

Oh man, that kind of sucks! Mine has that face now, but by choice, I switched it with my APS-U. Is there a way to get the right face for it?
On a brighter note, my MTB Megatron looks great next to my customized AOE "Revenge" Optimus Prime!View attachment 27712488

Did this happen to anyone else? I got MB-11 Prime today from BBTS and my figure does not have the faceplate head. I has the APS-01U face.

I've thought of that before bit I have no facts only speculation. That's a great idea you gave though I would think humidity isn't great, or hot hot sun obviously wouldn't be good. Cols isn't bad until you start moving them in the cold. I may do some research today to see
Ok so I got mine, and I'm not really finding any problems with it. I think if anything it's easier to use then my ROTF Leader Class Prime. Is there a place in specific that you are looking to see about I can check that. I put a review up on it (see my channel link below or video review section if interested). I'll have the other one up with opposite transformation this weekend.
About MPM-04, yea it's confirmed to be Optimus through trial and error and code names ect. through solicitations at TRU. But not hasbro themselves yet I'm guessing they are waiting for HasCon?
TFXProtector
Agreed. I've given up and pushed them up until they rest against the fenders giving them a slight slanted look. Not accurate, but better than no articulation.
Actar
I definitely love him, but one of the issues I have with the figure is how they did the shoulders. I really wished they cound a way to connect the two wheels to the body instead of the top of the shoulders. As it is, he has a really limited range of articulation if you want to have those two wheels by the side of his head and they get in the way of a ton of poses.
RHALX
I've just received my MB-11 (leader optimus prime).
The figure is what it is, probably the most popular movie mold. But I'm really, really disappointed by Takara's false advertising. In all the promotion materials, including the figure's box, he has a full metalic grey paint. I already have buster prime, so I thought he'd be similar with few additional bits of paint on the upper arms and legs. It's sadly not the case, and a good half of his body is just plastic grey.
It's clearly false advertising and I don't understand why they ended up saving on paint when buster prime was already fully painted years ago.
