…no one's gonna show Warden how to transform that crotch? Do that thing that he should really know how to do? He got it right in that one shot and not the rest of the vid? Hasui is right there…for like 20 secs…
Also; "it comes with Spike", "exosuit from the show" and "awesome product photography".
I think Warden probably walked on a set with the figure already transformed to mimic the front of the packaging. I believe it was HIM that actually knew how to transform it correctly and he made sure to do so for a few shots
When Optibotimus posted his pic of the packaging on twitter, I saw it right away and it bugs the shit out of me too. Paul didn't realize it when I pointed iy out but once you see it, you can't un see it.
I'm guessing Husai thinks "us American fans are idiot" lol
Wait – wasn't it Spike's son Daniel in the exosuit in the cartoon? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Both of them were using the exo suits in the movie which is why this is Spike in the suit. Daniel would later require to be placed in the suit in the later seasons if I remember correctly.
I was looking forward to what the designer had to say. You could tell he was passionate and had plenty to share. I learned that Bumblebee is a minibot, then they stopped the interview.
Yup. Although this video was slightly better than the ones aimed at kids ("Wow, look kids! transformer toys! they transform like this! Great design, eh? Byeeeeeee!"), the info was wrong (that's DANIEL in the suit, and it's from the animated FILM).
Hasbro Masterpiece Bumblebee explicitly identifies the figure as "Exosuit Spike Witwicky" on the front of the packaging.
The TakaraTomy version mostly just refers to the figure as Exosuit", but he's identified as "Spike" in one instance on the back of the packaging.

Perhaps the lad in those videos should have increased his "deh-TAILS" a little more? After all, he did keep "mispronouncing" it countless times…
They are just now releasing this video? I just checked toysrus.com and….it is sold out. So what is the point of doing this now? To let people know that they missed out on buying it?
THIS.
And TRU MPs don't typically come back in stock (i.e. SW, SS, etc.). BB may come back for Xmas… but even the stores are running low/sold out, so this video is perplexing.
Then again, I totally understand releasing a CW cartoon a year after most of the toys are no longer in stores! RIGHT ON!
Mirage232
Pretty much exactly what I thought. A shame, because the Masterpiece line is arguably the best Transformers line ever made.

I had seen these for sale at my local TRU long ago.
They have, or had, both this and Bluestreak in stock. And the rest was history.

Both Spike and Daniel wore the exosuit in the movie.

The universe did not need that video.
Awful marketing.

From what we've been told it's all TakaraTomy in regards to figure development.
Wasn't always the case though, as Hasbro used to be involved more.

And the buzzword for the drinking game is "detail(s)"!
[Wing_Saber-X]
This is EXACTLY why Hasbro employees shouldnt touch a Takara made Masterpiece transformer..
Late Ironhide
I work at TRU in Riverside CA and we still have him in stock. When I was there last Sat we had from what I remeber about 4 of him still for 64.99
RodimusZero
Wow. These arrogant bastards are really owning that crotch mistransformation. Too proud to admit you screwed up, eh??
Sarrow
how pointless….never even saw the damn thing in the store and now it's sold out online. and that's not even considering the highway robbery price.
primalxconvoy
Actually, so does Takara's, too. My mistake. It's still from the film, though, not the TV show.
