Mashable.com has learned of a casting rumor for a potentially interesting part in the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight movie. According to Mashable’s Jeff Sneider, Liam Garrigan is currently in talks to play King Arthur, wielding the magical sword Excalibur along side the Transformers.
If you’re wondering how Garrigan would fair playing the legendary king, well, it would actually be his second time playing the character. Garrigan played King Arthur in the ABC series Once Upon a Time.
As always with movie news, until we get a definitive 100% confirmation, take this with a grain of salt.

Transformers 2 is on the phone for you,
Friendross
Every human, no matter what role, that is announced as being cast equals less screen time for tf's
But somehow….The idea of this recasting, to me in my opinion, has to be one of the biggest flashing red lights of lazy film making.

In the entertainment biz. There is nothing wrong with making adjustments to the show before actuall showtime.

G1 King Arthur Episode
Actually, many of us realize that and have stated same. It looks like it'll be a mix of ARIKAC, + whatever Bayverse/Writer's Roundtable stuff they come up with. Since some of the writers on this film helmed some previous "Iron Man" films, I'm willing to be a little more open to what they do with it; skeptically optimistic. . .

I guess no one realize's hes just doing this episode live action?

Plus its quite possible Anthony may have done his scenes already but in closed sets, instead of outside

I hope it's a Transformers myself, way more cooler than some human role.
Though they wouldn't have announced him this early on.
Ken Watanabe and John Goodman weren't announced till like the month before AOE came out.
MyloTron
Mad funny, lol. You got him.
Hollywood Hoist
Challenge accepted.
"Ello govna, would you like a spot of tea? Me and my fellow chimney sweeps would like to play some cricket. Afterwards we'll shag some birds in the stands."
… and scene.
Just taking the piss out of ya.

I still can't believe the Transformers franchise is going the King Arthur route. Like, what the hell?!? I'm actually interested in seeing how it all plays out though
Jerrymiru
…. wait…. what?
Exinferis
Well, at least they bothered to cast a British actor to play the Once and Future King, rather than an American with a dodgy accent. You lot can't do a British accent, please stop trying!

Yes, fitting transformers into earths history has become the core mantra of
these movies. It's like the first aspect of each movie they try to lock down is which era of earth history shall we backwards engineer a transformers story from. Unfortunately in the intial production meeting for TFV someone said "well we had knights in TFIV, how about working Transformers into the dark ages?" and someone else who had just accidently ate some magic mushrooms said "yeah! Merlin and King Arthur, and all that other really transformer like stuff!"
You wait, in TFVI it's gonna be disclosed that Jesus was actually a Decepticon pretender!
Why has nothing ever happened on Cybertron?
MyloTron
Yeah, I think your right. You didn't mention the different dimensions, telepathy, hybrids and frequency radio waves stuff though. Oh, you blew them away with the trolls filthy words part.
Galvatross
In my opinion, King Arthur, Merlin, and the concept of Cybertronian Knights fit perfectly within the Transformers brand regardless of how it is executed. This is a brand that has seen time traveling Decepticons in jousting contests, actual dragons, Grimlock leading mid-20th century style tail-dragging dinosaurs to defeat the Decepticons, Beachcomber discovering a lagoon made of electrum, Rumble become a tree, banished Quintesson wizards, Rhinox farting, Starscream's ghost, Frenzy gaining a new body out of thin air, bodiless aliens called shadow parasites that feed on hate and anger, and hordes of other fanciful and silly things. Why anyone thinks this news in recent months sounds crazy for a Transformers movie is beyond me.
dwong1207
Since the are borrowing from An Autobot in King Arthur's Court…I expect to see Warpath!!!! I want James Earl Jones to be the voice and for him to say, "Boom…Zowie" in that deep voice of his
Splendic
Seriously.
All of the crazy shit that ends up in TF movies is primarily stuff Bay thinks is "cool" the year they go in to preproduction.

Thor
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder-you may be right. I recall you always having pretty reliable information on the films, while they've been in production, going all the way back to the '07 film.
IF we see the Quintessons, I wonder what the film version will look like? In my mind, I keep seeing an H.R. Gigeresque+Bayverse/Octopus-like design look-and I also keep seeing a scene where Optimus takes his sword (either the one on the artwork in NYC) or Excalibur, and then going to town, LOL!!! (which would also be a money shot in any teasers or trailers). . .
tonyformer
with him still working on set of the new Thor movie, I don't see Hopkins having any major human role in this film. Now when filming is done and they need to get all the TFs VO work done, I can see him then coming in to voice an important TF or the rumored "Creator" that was in the JoBlo leak.
Sablebot
Anthony Hopkins
At one time, I was thinking he was going to play Merlin. If the rumor about Cabrera is true, then maybe Anthony is playing one of the following:
A)The head of British intelligence agency MI6. Why?
POSSIBLE SPOILER
I saw some footage where Detroit was set-dressed to represent a London street, and on said street, Bumbleebee (with Cade inside) was being chased by Barricade who was joined by a bunch of classy upscale British police vehicles, some of which looked like black British TaxiCabs;
B)A KSI executive or some other human like Titus Welliver or Kelsey Grammer;
C)A Transformer voice (Alpha Trion)? Or maybe one of the Quintesson/Creators?
Time will tell.
