We have received word that Wally Burr, the voice director for Transformers Generation 1, suffered a stroke earlier this year and has lost the use of his hands and speech. On behalf of all the staff of TFW2005, I send him our best wishes for a full recovery.
You too may also send him your well wishes via [email protected]

That's a great story.
It's a bit sad he doesn't get many visitors but hopefully that'll increase a bit after this.

Just got back from my visit with Wally Burr. He was overwhelmed by the outpouring of affection. There are over 300 names on the wall hanging and EIGHT typed pages of get well wishes. I tried reading them to him but he kept stopping me to give me direction so I finally gave up. His nurse told me he doesn't get many visitors so I want to encourage anyone (I'm talking to you in particular, my actor friends) living in the LA area to stop by for a visit. He's at Sherman Oaks Health & Rehabilitation, 14401 Huston St., Sherman Oaks, CA 91423. (818) 986-7242. Room 43-B. And if you live far away, send him a card, or give him a call. He's hard to understand but he can definitely understand you. As I was leaving, I asked Wally if he wanted to say anything to his fans. He was having trouble coming up with something so I suggested he just say, "Thank You." He looked at me like I was the prize idiot in a class of idiots, and said, "Well, that's not very original." Yep, that's our Wally.

He was such a fun guy to talk to at Botcon in 2013. Best of wishes to him.

I, like many, had the pleasure of meeting Wally at several of the earlier FP Botcons. I was also one of the 10 finalist at the (unoffical) Botcon 04 voice acting contest. The final 10 then auditioned in front of Wally for two characters that were part of the script reading with Peter Cullen. Such a fun time and such a great guy.
Get well soon good sir!
