Fellow Transformers fansite Ozformers member hursticon is letting fans know that Transformers: Combiner Wars Computron was spotted in Australia. Toys’R’Us, Shellharbour to be exact.
Check out the proof, after the jump.
Happy hunting, everybody.

I get it, but I'm not looking for accuracy. I'm not a hardcore G1 fan. I just think that the CW Strafe is a little better.

I dunno. But to me both seem blocky. Yet the UW version sticks to some of the elements I really feel Strafe needs. Besides UW strafe has 3 guns. CW strafe 0. Must say though that the wings on CW strafe are spot on. But that is about it.
Lord Dcast
Takara Strafe for Hasbro Strafe. The retooled Blast Off mould seems too blocky for me, plus Scrounge adds some punch to the team. I'll repaint them if I have to.

swap who for who?
The photo shoot has him "miss transformed" in the UW version. The 2 guns of the vehicle mode are pegged sideways in the back part and rotated down. They could rotate up. Or even peg into their "vehicle spot" which is into the shoulders.
Same as with the original.
The CW version is horrid in my opinion. Sorry to say. As for nosecone the UW one is far better then the CW one. Simply because of the lackluster Brawl straight up repaint. By far the weakest mold of the entire line.
Must be why UW has a different mold all together.
With UW you get
-2 new molds "same skeleton as others"
Strafe and Nosecone
-2 retool/requip "
afterburner new hood piece head and guns
Scattershot having different chestpiece, guns and the combiner parts.
-1 repaint/requip with new guns. and a new head being Lightspeed.
Lord Dcast
I'm getting both to swap out the Strafe. The rest will become sacrifices to the Radicon god. MWUHAHAHAHA!

Doubly so if you had to pay eBay prices for the impossible to find Sky Lynx that wasn't boxed with Onslaught (at least in my area)…le sigh

I meant the solo Scattershot. When people can buy the sets only to get a complete computron.
As for the set Hasbro releases compared to Takara. Damn it is not "technically" better. It is superior. You get weapons with each bot, mostly dual and unique. Not copies of previous molds.
2 very much remolded versions strafe+Nosecone.
The color scheme for Afterburner might be a bit on the red side but the windshield isn't based of Slimer from Ghostbusters.
As for Scattershot both paint versions are ok. At some points Hasbro might win but that is preference.
The weakest link on both sets is Lightspeed/steed. Anyways The mold they chose is the wrong one with Hasbro, they should have straight up repainted Dead-end. not take the Streetwise one. Mainly the lightbar is a eyesore. Only Prowl and Streetwise should have it. And Lightspeed does not need or benifit from the rest of the mold. He could easily just be a Dead-end repaint. Takara picked the Breakdown mold, with new head may I add. Which is the weakest transformation mold in the stunticon line. But it works better then the Streetwise mold.
As for changes in the rest.
The hands and feet are great with Hasbros version, nothing against them. Yet when the rest of your combiners all have the HFG it looks off on the shelf.
The striking difference might be the combiner mofo gun that Takara gives and the extra bot with Hasbro. Both are great. If you have a need for a Scrounge, really want those hands and feet and do not care much for the differences otherwise go for Hasbros. If you want consistency and more extras with your individual bots go Takara.
As for price. Where I buy my bots.
Hasbro Computron 130 euros
Takara Computron 155 euros.
So the difference is only 25 for me.

At least a good way to check if your employees are working "dusting the shelves and boxes of course".
Lord Dcast
Now now…even though the Takara one is technically better this set's fine. There are plenty hyped for this.
Athough I recommend visiting Steamshield's store after buying yours.

Opened or not it is worth nothing. Well maybe a nice toy for the kids to wreck?
Lord Dcast
Precisely, just what I said in my last comment. It's because the tax is a federal tax, not a state tax, so it's the same across the board unlike America where each state has a different percentage.
Nevermore
I think the US is one of the few countries where taxes are charged at checkout. Here in Germany, what you see on the price tag is what you will end up paying, taxes included.
Lord Dcast
That's true. On a minimum wage job with a 9-5 shift on weekends only I still get $220 a week. And as for GST, it doesn't affect sales. As GST is 10% across the country, it's automatically taken into account so no calculation is needed. $200 is $200, no 'plus tax'. Retailers usually just hand over tax out of the entire revenue earned then claim afterwords on non-taxable items.
The high minimum wage does help import costs. Two weeks to save up for a Takara release as opposed to whatever Americans wait.
Happy Miracle
10% GST (General Sales Tax) is included in the cost.
Also keep in mind that earnings in Australia (when it comes to things like minimum wage, etc) are higher than in the US. Maybe not across every demographic and maybe statistically it's a bit more nuanced/different, but yeah. Hence why you have expensive TFs (these will probably be knocked down to about $150 at some point).

not sure how it works in Australia, do they have anything like VAT taxes added in to the on-shelf price?
(plus it's TRU, aka home of the $23 Deluxe )
Lord Dcast
Considering the exclusivity of Computron this is actually good. I'm getting both so as long as they don't charge over $150 I'm game.
But, since this is Australia I'm seeing a $200-$300 price tag once it gets over to most stores.
EDIT: Saw the price. I expect it to go higher.
harveydent
I'm assuming they're supplied by Hasbro Asia. HA is always insanely priced.

The two Scattershots are different. The single Voyager works better as Scattershot whereas the one in the box works better as Computron's core. It's to do with the placement of the colours in robot mode especially on the arms. They've tried to fake the red robot forearms in the boxset version with one side coloured red but it doesn't work with the need for them to be white for the combined mode upper legs.

Want one to be in the middle of Computron? Get the boxset. Want one to be Scattorshot? Keep the single Voyager.
Nevermore
When Hasbro decided to release Scattershot separately, the other Technobots were not an option yet. That's how plans sometimes change.
I assume Takara's decision to design the Deluxe Groove sculpt was what made Computron possible.

You guys are lucky, all we have here is 1 steppers and nothing else. The rest of the shelves and pegs are bare.
